Lebanon - Hezbollah preaching hate to children

Breeding the next generation of terrorists.

Iraq - Police recruits graduate

Hundreds of them.

BAGHDAD — Hundreds of cadets broke into celebration after graduating from Baghdad Police Academy’s 10-week basic course this summer. In all, 444 Police cadets successfully completed a program that included training in human rights, firearms, tactics and democracy.

US - "We're like Saddam"

That's what Bill Maher says.

He also thinks Iraq was better off with Saddam in power.

Listen also for the racist comments he makes.

This is the left for you people, lying, ignorant and racist.

Lebanon - The ambulance hoax continues

But Tim Blair's on the case.

Israel - Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade head killed

Excellent news.

THE Israeli army today killed the leader of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade in the West Bank town of Nablus, security and medical services said.

Fadi Khafisha, 29, was killed in Nablus' old town in an exchange of fire with Israeli soldiers.

And they killed Fatah's head suicide vest maker.

On top of that, Israel's security sweep is getting good results.

Soldiers from the Givati Brigade have been operating in the Gaza City neighborhood of Shajaiyeh since Saturday and have so far killed at least 25 Palestinians, while wounding another 15.

The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) revealed that in a joint operation with the IDF, soldiers discovered a large tunnel extending more than 150 meters from a home in Shajaiyeh to the Israeli-run Karni cargo crossing. The tunnel, security officials said, was to have been used by terrorists to launch an attack against the Israeli side of the crossing. [...]

Later in the day, troops discovered and destroyed two Kassam launchers, used earlier that day to fire rockets at communities in the South.

On Tuesday, Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin, told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that Palestinians were currently digging some 20 tunnels under the Gaza-Egypt border.
[...]

Early Wednesday morning, the IDF fired an artillery shell at a Palestinian anti-tank cell and killed three of its members. Later, another two Palestinians were killed by IDF gunfire.

At least one of those killed was a gunman and another was shot while trying to launch a rocket-propelled grenade, doctors and security officials said.

Israel - "The media war against Israel"

Or, "This is the way a civilisation dies."

Fakes, forgeries and staging of events used to be the scandals the media couldn't get enough of - until it was the media doing the faking, forging and staging.

The lying left wing media will be the death of us all and they just don't care.

Read of the day.

Iraq - Flyfishing in Baghdad:photos

Field and Stream reports.

US - Joe Wilson disappears

from Daily Kos.

Isn't this revealing of the left? The left were all over the story until now - now that Armitage is the one who outed Plame.

US - Democrats attack Republicans for voting same way they did

This is exactly what you expect from the Democrats. No ideas, just smears and bullshit.

MoveOn.org Political Action attacks three Republican House members in TV ads saying they were "caught red-handed" supporting money spent on Halliburton contracts and wasteful Iraq projects. But a majority of Democrats voted the same way on most of the same measures, usually overwhelmingly. MoveOn endorses one Democratic House member who voted the same way 10 out of 14 times, and two senators who voted for the same measures every time they reached a recorded vote in the Senate.

Another ad says the same three Republicans were "caught red-handed" taking donations from military contractors while failing to support penalties for contractors who overcharge. In fact the donations were relatively small and MoveOn offers no evidence the votes were influenced by money. Furthermore severe penalties already exist for fraud against the Pentagon. What the targeted Republicans opposed were Democratic proposals to increase penalties.

Iraq - Good news round up

Here's some good news from Iraq that the left wing media rather you didn't know about.

But at least ABC reports this.

US - Democrats smear black Republicans

Since the Democrats can't win on ideas, they dont' have any, the only thing they can do to try and win, is to smear their opponents - even if they're black.

Turkey - Pinocchio and friends converted to Islam

The Telegraph reports.

The clumsy insertions by Islamic publishing houses have caused controversy in Turkey, which has been a strongly secular state since the 1920s.

Other books contain insults, slang and rude rhymes which mock the president and the prime minister.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is Turkey's first Islamic premier, has called for swift action to be taken against the publishers.

The education ministry has threatened to take legal action against any publisher which continues to issue such books.

What's got them so upset is not the "clumsy insertions" of Islam into the books, but the swearing.

Huseyin Celik, the education minister, said: "If there are slang and swear words, we will sue them for using the ministry logo."

That's ok then.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lebanon - Nightime raid by Israelis:video

Here's a great video of a nightime raid by Israelis to kill Hezbollah terrorists. Note in the video that Hezbollah were caught wearing IDF uniforms.

Islam - It's who we are not what we do

We are constantly told by Muslims and their supporters on the Left that it is our foreign policies that incite Muslims to kill us infidels. If we would just get out of Afghanistan and Iraq things would be ok, they wail. Here's a timeline going back to 1968 to illustrate the point that, it is not what we do but who we are that incites Muslims to kill us infidels.

UK - Migrant flood changing UK

For the worse, so says Trevor Phillips. He should know as he's the head of the Commission for Racial Equality.

He added that the social transformation was sharpened by large numbers of Brits quitting the UK. Mr Phillips warned Britain was verging on “unacceptably high” ethnic polarisation — which he blamed on the education system.

He said: “Separateness tends to encourage inequality of treatment.

“And living separately means that different groups have their experiences defined by their ethnicity rather than their ambitions.

“The more we allow groups of people who live and work here to feel they do not belong to this society, the higher the risk of their taking hostile action against it.”

In other words, it's our fault. That's true to the degree that the government forced their multicultural nonsense on us.

If he really thinks that the education system is to blame then how about a call to end all faith based schools? If we're going to end this multiculturalism nightmare, then the schools seem to me an ideal place to start.

US - Who's on Armitage drive way duty?

The moonbat left demonstrated in front of the houses of those they thought were responsible for the Plame leak. They went so far as to post their addresses on the internet with pictures and enjoined others to join them in their demonstrations. Where are they now? Why aren't they protesting in front of Armitage's house? As Kate O'brien asks, "who's on Armitage driveway duty?"

Come on moonbats! You wanted to know who leaked her name. You were the ones baying for that person to go to jail. Let's see the protests in front of Armitage's house. Where are you? Where are the protesters? Where are the posters, the chants, the jeers, the ridicule and the outrage? Now that you know who the leaker is and he turns out to be one of your own, you fall silent.

Lying hypocrites.

Lebanon - Reuters busted for faking a story again

Just as the Israelis didn't fire on ambulances, they didn't fire on Reuters news truck. Powerline has more.

Lebanon is turning out to be the most faked war in history.

US - NYT and Olbermann caught lying over Rumsfeld

What I don't understand about this sort of thing is, they just don't seem to care that they are going to get caught. In this day of blogs, videos and the Internet, it's just too easy to prove someone's lying. But still they do it. As for the moonbat left, their followers, the truth simply doesn't matter. In fact, it seems the more outrageous the lie the more they believe it.

Rumsfeld made a speech the other day and the left invented a totally differnet one. See here, here and here.

This is how deranged the left are. They simply don't care about the truth. They will lie, cheat and steal in their attempt to get back in power.

UPDATE

Add AP to the list.

US - Army Meets Its Retention Goal Early

Which means that once again the Army will exceed its re-enlistment goal. In fact, re-enlistments are the highest among combat groups.

Now, you just know the AP isn't going to let the idea that we have patriotic and motivated people re-enlisting in our Army.

He may even return to the front again - a possibility that never occurred to him when he first joined the active Army in 1997, long before the 2003 Iraq invasion and the onset of what has become an increasingly unpopular war.

Right. He joined the ARMY and it never occurred to him that he would go into combat and possibly several times. Wel, Lolita, just exactly what did you think the Army did?

The war obviously isn't so "increasingly unpopular" with combat veterans now then, is it Lolita? If it wasn't for the lying left wing media, it wouldn't be so unpopular. The lying left wing media is doing the same thing it did during Vietnam, trying to snatch defeat from victory.

Lolita continues...

While the Army struggled last year to meet recruitment goals, it has been able to keep soldiers in the service by using a growing list of incentives and escalating bonuses to shower troops with money, schooling and career advancements.

What Lolita fails to tell you is that the Army has exceeded is recruitment goal for 14 months in a row.

There's war in Afghanistan, Iraq, Middle East and the war on terror. North Korea and Iran are saber rattling. And yet recruitment and re-enlistment are on the rise. It's not just American military that is on the rise either. Canada as well as Britain are seeing increases in military recruitment.

Stick to naval gazing Lolita.

US - CBS admits to doctoring photograph

PJM has the details.

Today, the uremitting hunt for the guilty pays off as a “CBS spokesman said ‘the editorial staff of Watch magazine retouched the photo without the knowledge of Katie Couric or CBS news management.’ But the staff consists of “CBS’ own communications department.”

My earlier post is here.

Iraq - Progress report

Gateway Pundit reports.

US - Why is Fitzgerald lying?

The New York Times says Armitage has now admitted he leaked Plame's name to the media.

In the accounts by the lawyer and associates, Mr. Armitage disclosed casually to Mr. Novak that Ms. Wilson worked for the C.I.A. at the end of an interview in his State Department office.

I like the way the media and Bush's other critics are now constantly characterising the disclosure as "casual". If it was so casual, how do you explain that Armitage also leaked her name to another reporter.

He was also the source for another journalist about Ms. Wilson, a reporter who did not write about her. The lawyers and associates said Mr. Armitage also told Bob Woodward, assistant managing editor of The Washington Post and a well-known author, of her identity in June 2003.

Here's where Fitzgerald's problems start.

The Justice Department was quickly informed, and Mr. Armitage disclosed his talks with Mr. Novak in subsequent interviews with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, even before Mr. Fitzgerald’s appointment.

So, the FBI knew before Fitzgerald's appointment that a government official had talked to reporters and revealed Plame's status as a CIA operative. And yet here's what Fitz had to say at his press conference.

Valerie Wilson's cover was blown in July 2003. The first sign of her cover being blown was that Mr. Novak published a column on July 14th 2003. But Mr. Novak was not the first reporter to be told that Wilson's wife, Valerie Wilson, Ambassador Wilson's wife, Valerie, worked at the CIA. Several other reporters were told. In fact, Mr. Libby was the first official known to have told a reporter when he talked with Judith Miller in June of 2003 about Valerie Wilson.

We now know that that is an outright lie. Armitage himself, a government official, told the FBI he talked to a reporter before Fitz took the case. Why is Fitzgerald lying?

Here's the press release in PDF.

Why isn't the media, who had two of its members imprisoned, all over Fitzgerald for this outright lie? Here's why.

MSM were at the forefront calling for someone in the White House to be arrested over the affair and were even willing to let their reporters go to jail to get what they wanted. Now that the baloon is burst, MSM is in cover up mode. Take this for example from the Times article.

The identification of Mr. Armitage as the original leaker to Mr. Novak ends what has been a tantalizing mystery. In recent months, however, Mr. Armitage’s role had become clear to many, and it was recently reported by Newsweek magazine and The Washington Post.

You see? As soon as they found out the truth MSM did their duty and reported it. There's just one problem. The blogsphere has been reporting Armitage as the soruce for nearly a year. Since that didn't fit their anti-Bush agenda, they didn't investiage. Or, if they did, they covered it up.

UPDATE

Tom Maguire disagrees and says Fitzgerald may not have had that information at the time he made those statments. Ok fine. But Fitzgerald knew pretty soon that Libby wasn't the leak so why the witch hunt?

UK - Robert Fisks fakes

Which is also why he writes for the far left Independent Newspaper.

Here's Fisk's latest failed prediction.

Thus, in a column about the arrest of 24 suspects over the foiled London bomb plot, Fisk dismissed the whole deal as a fraud: “I’m sure Independent readers will join me in watching how many of the suspects ... are still in custody in a couple of weeks’ time.” Well, let’s do a head count. Ten days later 11 of the suspects, far from being released, were charged. Another has since been charged, while eight remain in custody. Only four have been released.

As Tim Blair points out 3 more have now been charged.

Tim points out several "mistakes" of Fisk's including this one.

Here’s one recent classic, from July, when Crime Scene Investigator Fisk attempted to support claims that Hezbollah had shot down an Israeli jet or helicopter or something: “When I picked up what appeared to be maybe a cockpit window of some kind, the glass fell out of the rubber frame onto the road.”

It's now been proved that there was no downing of an aircraft and that the "crash scene" was staged by Hezbollah by setting a tire dump on fire.

With all of Fisk's trouble with facts and predictions, and after being caught lying, one has to wonder why the Independent hires him? Unless of course all that Fisk writes, whether accurate or the truth, fits their left wing agenda.

US - CAIR's Fellow Travelers

Charles explains.

Lebanon - "Counterfeit News"

Just add this to all the fake news out of Lebnon.

Iran - "Gathering nuclear storm"

is a matter of when not if.

Lebanon - Ambulance hoax exposed

Now that the Hezbollah ambulance hoax has been exposed for the propaganda it is, it's nice to see some in the media reporting the truth.

Where's the rest of those journalists who were happy to promulgate Hezbollah's propaganda.

UPDATE

More here.

Don't hold your breath for the rest of MSM to report on this hoax - they're part of it.

Britain - The "weakest link in the Western chain"

With Londonistan is its capital, there's no doubt of that.

I've always been concerned about where Britain's Muslim MP's loyalties lie. With their recent demands in a letter to Blair, they showed their true allegiance.

When British authorities broke up an alleged plot to blow up multiple aircraft over the Atlantic Ocean -- the "moderate" Muslim establishment in Britain published an aggressive open letter to Prime Minister Tony Blair.

It suggested that Blair could better fight terrorism if he recognized that current British government policy, especially with regard to "the debacle of Iraq," provides "ammunition to extremists." The letter writers demanded he change his foreign policy to "make us all safer." One prominent signatory, Labour MP Sadiq Khan, added that Blair's reluctance to criticize Israel increased the pool of people from which terrorists can recruit.

In other words, Islamists working within the system exploited the thwarted Islamist terror plot to pressure the British government to implement their joint wishes and reverse British policy in the Middle East. Lawful Islamists shamelessly leveraged the near-death of thousands to forward their agenda.

Read the whole thing but here's the conclusion.

And here's another reconsideration: while I maintain that the future of Europe -- whether continuing in its historic Christian identity or becoming an adjunct of Muslim North Africa -- is still an open question, the behavior of the British public, that weakest link in the Western chain, suggests that it, at least, may be too confused to resist its Londonistan destiny.

Which may explain why Britian puts up with Muslim appeasement. It didn't work before and it won't work today.

Middle East - "No more ambulances for terror "

Michelle Malkin explains.

And they use children as human shields.

In March 2002, Israeli Defense Forces discovered a bomb in a Palestine Red Crescent Society ambulance near Jerusalem. The bomb, packed in a suicide belt, was hidden under a gurney carrying a Palestinian child. The driver confessed that it was not the first time ambulances had been used to ferry explosives.

Female suicide bomber Wafa Idris, who blew herself up in a January 2002 attack in Jerusalem, was a medical secretary for the PRCS. Her recruiter was an ambulance driver for the same organization, which receives support from governments worldwide and the American and International Red Cross.

US - The Armitage wine was made from sour grapes

As the Canada Freepress notes.

With the final exposure of Mr. Armitage and his balding pate as the final suspects in this fading denouement, only Mr. Libby is left in the dock before the gagged up magistrates, where he must try to remember what it was he actually lied about during his questioning about a crime that was not only not committed, but of whom the suspect was already known to the investigating agencies at the time Scooter was grilled about the affair in which he was actually not involved in.
[...]

George Bush never lied. Scooter Libby is in the dock for the flimsiest of nigh on unproveable frauds. Karl Rove took a walk after thousands in legal fees. David Corn, after years of accusing the President for being a liar, now writes a book claiming he wasn't. And George Soros will continue his outright purchase of the Democratic Party at rock bottom prices to insure that future Fitzgerald-like hijinx will occur with a regularity he'll demand from his newly purchased political puppets.

The only thing the Democrats care about is getting back in power and they will lie, cheat and ruin anyone who gets in their way.

The Wall Street Journal goes further and calls Joe Wilson a liar.

For starters, fessing up would put to rest the conspiracy theories once and for all. Bush opponents have continued to promote this myth, with Mr. Wilson writing in June 2004 that "the conspiracy to destroy us was most likely conceived--and carried out--within the office of the vice president of the United States." Not a word of that was true.

Another point the leftist liars keeping trying make is that it was the White House was out to get Wilson. That like wise is not true.

But Mr. Novak has written that his source was not a "partisan gunslinger," and the columnist has also said that he himself put in the call to Mr. Rove to confirm what he'd first heard from his main source (presumably Mr. Armitage). The White House, in short, was not engaged in any campaign to "out" Ms.

None of this matters to the left. The damage has been done to many people and that's all they care about. The left and their mouth piece, the left wing media, could care less about the truth.

Israel - Tunnel-Terror Attack Thwarted

More proof the Palestinians don't want peace.

US - Media's war on the west

Powerline has a round up of links to highlight the issue and points out this:

[W]e find ourselves in a strange time:

* When a database search of America's leading newspapers turns up 10 times as many mentions of one soldier at Abu Ghraib who was punished for misconduct than mentions of Sgt. 1st Class Paul Ray Smith, the first recipient of the Medal of Honor in the War on Terror.

* When a Newsweek senior editor disparagingly refers to the brave volunteers in our Armed Forces as a "mercenary army."

* When the former head of CNN accuses the American military of deliberately targeting journalists and the former CNN Baghdad bureau chief admits he concealed reports of Saddam Hussein's crimes when he was in power so CNN could stay in Iraq.

* And when Amnesty International disgracefully refers to the military facility at Guantanamo Bay - which holds terrorists who have vowed to kill Americans, and is arguably the best run and most scrutinized detention facility in the history of warfare - as "the gulag of our times."

Those who know the truth need to speak out against these kinds of myths and lies and distortions being told about our troops and our country. This watchdog role is even more important today in a war that is to a great extent fought in the global media - to not allow the lies and the myths be repeated without question or challenge, so that at least the second and third draft of history will be more accurate than the quick first allegations.

Indeed.

Then there are these media fakes.

And who can forget Rathergate? Or the BBC's propaganda?

Then there's Fauxtogate. The list goes on and on.

Lebanon - Hezbollah's staging goes on

and the left wing media are happy to go along. Biased BBC has the details.

US - CBS getting better at doctoring documents

After doing such a lousy job of forging documents in an attempt to smear Bush and steal the last election, CBS tires its hand at photoshopping.

Here's an animation of how it was done.

On the other hand this is pretty sloppy.

US - CBS: Bush "Bling for his hommies"

Untill they take it down, here's what this CBS weather page says:

Mon, 20 June 2083

George Bush spends 58% of US Budget on Whiskey and some Bling for his hommies

yep, he really did.

Here's a screen grab.

No doubt just an accident like all of CNN's.

US - How much longer can Air America last?

These are pretty dismal ratings. Notice the number of stations with zeros. And things are about to get a whole lot worse for leftist radio. And that's a good thing.

We anticipate this will change for the worse when AAR moves from WLIB in New York to the much lower powered WWRL.

What these ratings don't show you is the large number of stations that have dropped Air America.

Hopefully, Soros and the Democrats will continue to spend large sums of money on these losers.

US - Details of Muslim terror plot emerge

Here are some of the details the Times is blocking UK readers from finding out.

It will be interesting to hear what the terror deniers and Muslim apologists have to say when this gets out.

US - Why is the Left suddenly silent on Plame?

Here's why.

The new mantra is "Wilson lied, the truth died".

Why aren't all those on the left, who were baying like wolves for blood and who were calling for someone in the White House to arrested, calling for Armitage to be arrested?

Everyone knew no law had been broken in revealing Plame's position at the CIA. That didn't stop the deranged left from frothing at the mouth and demanding someone be arrested. One large lefty blog went so far as to say Rove had secretly been indicted and that they had even see the secret indictment. It was all lies. Which is usually what you get from the left these days.

US - CNN sorry for Bush speech gaffe

Sure they are.

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - CNN apologized Tuesday after an open mike transmitted an anchor's bathroom conversation with another woman live over the network as it was carrying President Bush's speech in New Orleans.

Let's see if we have a pattern here.

This is the same CNN that, back in May of this year, cut too early to a speech Bush was about to give and broadcast him rehearsing the speech instead.

This is also the same CNN that used this caption for a picture of Bush after he won the election.

http://cdn-channels.netscape.com/cppops/features/n/ne_election5/i/asshole.jpg

And it was CNN who broadcast a large black X over Vice President Cheney's face.

When the public called in to complain about it, they were told by a CNN employee

"We did it just to make a point. Tell them to stop lying, Bush and Cheney," the CNN operator said to a caller."

Yeah, I'd say there's a pattern there.

UPDATE

Not to be out done, CBS joins in.

You might recall it was CBS that used forged documents in an attempt to smear Bush and steal the last election.

US - Another Muslim SUV terror attack?

Looks that way.

Lots more information here.

Now compare those two with the amount of information in this CNN report.

And as of this writing, on the BBC's "Americas" webpage you will find......nothing at all. In fact, if you search the BBC's entire website with "Popal", you will find.....nothing at all.

Iran cracks down on women's dress

Back to the stone age.

"We are certainly seeing a return to behavior we haven't seen for 10 years," Hadi Ghaemi of Human Rights Watch told The Telegraph. "Generally, the imposition of strict Islamic codes has been increasing under Ahmadinejad."

Asked for comment on the worsening situation for women in Iran, the women's movement had this to say:

Lebanon - Hezbollah building bunkers again

in Palestinian refugee camps in violation of UN resolutions.

JERUSALEM – Hezbollah, with the help of Iran, has started building underground war bunkers in Palestinian camps in south Lebanon just a few miles from the Israeli border, according to senior Lebanese officials.

I heard Annan on the news last night from Lebanon saying that resolution 1700 (I think that's the latest one covering Lebanon) wasn't and a la carte option, with each side being able to pick and choose wich parts to implement. He said the resolution had to be implemented in full. Why isn't he calling for the same thing over resolution 1555 wich calls for Hezbollah to disarm?

Lebanon - Washington Post discovers blogs

Sometimes a jounalists in writing a story reveals important underlying information. Take this Washington Post report on Lebanese and Israeli bloggers for example.

Schrank reports on how the two civilian sides talked to each other using blogs and notes this:

The Lebanese government forbids its citizens contact with Israelis.

And this...

But shrill or reasoned in tone, the surge in comments still astounds Hamoui. "For myself, I'm 28 and I've never had communication with Israelis" with a single exception, he said by phone from Eheen, in the mountains of northern Lebanon.

Then there was some good advice for the Lebanese.

"We Israelis moved against our own people in order to withdraw from Gaza. Why won't the Lebanese people move against their own people to kick out Hezbullah from Southern Lebanon??" asked Dan K on Beirut Spring in a post-cease-fire thread of comments that includes some heavy Israel-bashing. He added a link to his own bilingual English-Hebrew blog. "I love your blogs. But you gotta stop blaming your government in egnlish [sic] and take your movement to the streets in Arabic. And coordinate with each other. Like kicking out Syria. If you don't like your government, make marches, make protests."

And this....

It is obvious Israelis will not favor a Hezbollah win, but would rather see a moderate, modern, democratic, strong type of government in Lebanon, so they gently 'push' the Lebanese bloggers towards these directions."

This dig at MSM is priceless!

Chuman, the Beirut man who fled for Chicago, had sampled the Israeli blogosphere in April and found it a nuanced and informed contrast to what he could glean from traditional news outlets. "The lack of news about Israel -- not an unimportant country in the region -- is astounding," wrote the political consultant, under his then-nom-de-Web, Lebanon Profile. "Not knowing about 'them' is the worst crime we can commit. It invalidates them as humans, as if they don't even matter. They are Stalin's faceless enemy, the rabid dog, the evil blood suckers whom it is righteous to kill. Our papers definitely need to start covering more than major political events in Israel."

As well as top the faking, lying and biased reporting.

Read the whole thing.

Welcome to the blogshpere Washington Post.

US - Corrupt Democrat resigns

Hardly a day goes by that we don't read this.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - State Sen. Kathryn Bowers, awaiting trial on federal corruption charges, announced Monday she would resign because of poor health.

"This has nothing to do with the criminal case. This has to do with my health," said Bowers, who easily won the Democratic nomination for re-election on Aug. 3.

Un huh.

See here for the ever growing list of corrupt Democrats.

Philippine - Muslim terror plot foiled

Just in time.

Police and military agents nabbed Razak Macarimbang, Wahad Sandigan and Sammy Gampong before boarding a SuperFerry vessel bound for Manila on Sunday. Authorities seized two improvised bombs from the suspects at Polloc port in Maguindanao.

I've often wondered why terrorists haven't blown up an ocean liner yet.

North Korea - Banks said severing ties

The noose tightens.

"There is sort of a voluntary coalition of financial institutions saying that they don't want to handle this business anymore and that is causing financial isolation for the government of North Korea," Stuart Levey, the Treasury Department's undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, said in an interview Monday with The Associated Press.

"They don't want to be the banker for someone who's engaged in crime, as the North Korean government is," he said.

Banks in Singapore, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong and Mongolia are opting not to do business with North Korea, Levey said.

"Is there a complete cutoff, so that they can't get banking anywhere? No, that's not the case, but they're having a very difficult time finding banking services," he said. "You're seeing a near complete isolation."

US - Rumsfeld: Terrorists manipulating media

Terrorists aren't manipulating the media, the media are a willing partner; just like they were in Vietnam. Fauxtogate was just the latest example of that.

India - If you don't like it "leave the country"

We sure are hearing this more and more these days. From Australia to Britain and now India, more and more people are starting to stand up to Muslims. You either come here integrate into our society or leave.

Mr Naqvi, vice-president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has said, "Those who oppose our National Song should better leave the country." Their opposition to the song "is a reflection of their separatist mindset", he says. Mateen Ahmed, chairman, Delhi Wakf Board, and an Independent MLA, has said that the Shahi Imam has a "vitiated mind". Vande Mataram is being politicised by Muslim leaders without a political base.

Those here in Britain who don't want to integrate, who want Chrismas, piggy banks and Piglett too banned, and who want to live under Islamic law, might consider moving to a country that better suits your lifestyle.

We are finally starting to see people's eyes opening and they've seen enough Muslim appeasment. About time too.

US - Ethics scandal at Editor and Publisher

Someone once said something along the lines of "it's not the crime that does you in, it's the cover up". Someone needs to remind Greg Mitchell, Editor of Editor and Publisher, of that.

Here's how Editor and Publisher bill themselves.

"Editor & Publisher is the authoritative journal covering all aspects of the North American newspaper industry, including business, newsroom, advertising, circulation, marketing, technology, online and syndicates."

Well, since they claim to be "the authoritative jounal" on the North American newspapeer industry, can someone at E&P please explain why your editor is engaged in fabricating a story and then trying to cover it up? Further, can you please explain why no one will return calls or emails inquiring into the story? All of which is very strange behavior for "the authoritative jounal" on the North American newspapeer industry - unless they're involved in a cover up.

Here's a list of contact emails. Why not email them and see if you get a response?

Media - why we don't believe you

Here's a long list of recent media fakes and hoaxes from the left wing media.

Here's an even longer list of past left wing media fakes and forgeries.

And who can forget Rathergate?

This is an even longer list still of media bias and just from the left wing BBC.

Sadly, the general public is largely unaware they are being lied to by the left wing media. The left wing media knows this and that's why, despite being caught out repeatedly, they keep on lying.

One can only imagine how much better our world would be if the left wing media would just stop its lying, faking and biased reporting. How much better would the world be if they only knew the truth?

Blogging is evolving all the time and we now have video blogging, podcasting and even radio broadcasts. But we need much, much more to counter the lying left wing media. So, if you're reading this and are fed up with the lying left wing media, why not start your own blog? Or, if you don't have time to blog, start an email campaign to make your friends and relatives aware of blogs. I was at a BBQ at the weekend and met some people who had never heard of blogs. Clearly we have work to do.

US - Kerry Revives 2004 Election Allegations

BRING - IT - ON!

This is too good to be true. If the Democrats want to re-run the last election, they'll get hammered again.

"He used the power of his state office to try to intimidate Ohioans and suppress the Democratic vote," said Kerry's e-mail.

Kerry, D-Mass., conceded the election when he lost Ohio and its 20 electoral votes. A recount requested by minor-party candidates showed Bush won by about 118,000 votes out of 5.5 million cast. But Kerry's e-mail says Blackwell "used his office to abuse our democracy and threaten basic voting rights."

The Democrats paid for an independent investigation that found, yes indeed, there was voter fraud and voter suppresion in Ohio - BY DEMOCRATS!

So why are the Democrats going after Blackwell?

Blackwell, who is black, says the election was run fairly, citing 1 million more votes cast than in 2000 and record turnout among black voters.

And we all know how racist the Democrats are.

Gaza - You remember Gaza don't you?

Here's a first hand account with photos of what's going on.

Lebanon - Hezbollah's actress Asma Srour

You may recall the woman in multiple photos standing in front of multiple homes she had lost. Some dubbed her the most unluckiest property owner in Lebanon. She's been identified once as Asma Srour. Here's a montage of her from Drinking from home.

Now, take a look at this screen grab from a movie I'll post later.

Watch the video for different shots of her.

What caught my attention is the fact that she was introduced as "Mothers of Hezbollah Martyrs" on Hezbollah's Lebanon channel "Al Manar".

Mabye it's not her but I wouldn't put it past Hezbollah.

Here's the video. She appears at about 5:20 into the video.

US - ABC's 'The Path to 9/11'

How Clinton and the Democrats enabled al Qaeda.

Read the whole review as it's pretty damning of the Clintons. For example:

This is the first Hollywood production I’ve seen that honestly depicts how the Clinton administration repeatedly bungled the capture of Osama Bin Laden. One astonishing sequence in "The Path to 9/11" shows the CIA and the Northern Alliance surrounding Bin Laden’s house in Afghanistan. They're on the verge of capturing Bin Laden, but they need final approval from the Clinton administration in order to go ahead. They phone Clinton, but he and his senior staff refuse to give authorization for the capture of Bin Laden, for fear of political fall-out if the mission should go wrong and civilians are harmed. National Security Adviser Sandy Berger in essence tells the team in Afghanistan that if they want to capture Bin Laden, they'll have to go ahead and do it on their own without any official authorization. That way, their necks will be on the line - and not his. The astonished CIA agent on the ground in Afghanistan repeatedly asks Berger if this is really what the administration wants. Berger refuses to answer, and then finally just hangs up on the agent. The CIA team and the Northern Alliance, just a few feet from capturing Bin Laden, have to abandon the entire mission. Bin Laden and Al Qaeda shortly thereafter bomb the U.S. embassies in Tanzania and Kenya, killing over 225 men, women, and children, and wounding over 4000. The episode is a perfect example of Clinton-era irresponsibility and incompetence.

Read the whole thing.

It would be great if ABC would make it available on the net.

This is a good reminder just before the elections, of just how weak Democrats are on security and defense.

UK - Muslim who caused mutiny has criminal record

This is an update to my earlier post on the suspicious behavior of these two men.

Two years ago Ashraf was fined £100 after admitting using someone else's card to buy petrol from a service station in Wilmslow, near Manchester.

He also admits having convictions as a juvenile but refuses to say what they are. 'I have been in trouble,' he said. 'But it was when I was about 17 and I don't want to talk about what happened.

On its own it maybe not much, but taken together with their odd behavior and their stories not checking out, a deeper investigation of these two may be warranted.

Turkish boys commit 'honour' crimes

Nice to see the BBC reporting in the religion of pieces.

Young children - in some cases a woman's own son - have been used to carry out so-called "honour killings" in Turkey.

The duty of repairing the family's reputation is often delegated to a youth, believing they will get the minimum jail sentence, the World Service's Assignment programme has learned.

Now where does a 14 year old get the idea that he has to kill his own mother for the sake of the family's honour?

You gotta love this.

Instead of telling people honour killings are illegal or un-Islamic, some politicians have tried to tackle the issue from an economic angle.

They tell communities that honour killings can tear families apart, putting men in jail and children on the street.

Not to mention putting women in the ground.

That chirping sound you hear is the outcry from the Left.

BBC still lying about Katrina

The BBC is still peddling lies one year on.

Those who had no means to escape before the storm struck - mainly the poor and elderly - where left behind. The scenes of misery and desperation that followed shocked the world.

Both of those assertions are lies and the BBC knows it.

Here the BBC describe the flooded buses NO Mayor Nagin was supposed to use to evacuate those people.

Then someone sent me a photo that had been circulating on blogs of yellow New Orleans school buses inundated in their parking lot.

They had clearly not been used for evacuation as they should have been according to the city and state plan.

This showed that the mayor, praised without much stint until then, had something to answer for.

And whose fault was that? Not President Bush's.

That "someone" who sent in the picture was me.

The photo of the unused school buses in New Orleans came by way of a site called the USS Neverdock, so-called because it is always in action, I suppose.

It was only after a concerted email and comments effort by me and Biased BBC, that Paul reported the truth.

Likewise the "mainly poor and elderly" victim assertion isn't entirely correct and not in context. Take the poor and the black claims. Source.

A study of the locations where bodies were recovered showed that they were not disproportionately concentrated in low-income neighborhoods. According to the story, ''42 percent of the bodies found in Orleans and St. Bernard parishes were recovered in neighborhoods with poverty rates higher than 30 percent. That's only slightly higher than the 39 percent of residents who lived in such neighborhoods."

And race? In a database on 486 Katrina victims, ''African-Americans outnumbered whites 51 percent to 44 percent. In the area overall, African-Americans outnumber whites 61 percent to 36 percent."

As for the elderly...

Age did matter. People 60 and older made up about 15 percent of New Orleans residents but 74 percent of the known victims. Many reports suggest that this sad statistic is due not to callous abandonment of the most helpless but to the fact that many elderly people, who had weathered many previous storms, refused to evacuate.

Live interviews with those who refused to leave bear this out.

Then the mayor refused an offer to take people out by train.

“We offered the city the opportunity to take evacuees out of harm’s way,” said Amtrak spokesman Cliff Black. “The city declined.”

So the ghost train left New Orleans at 8:30 p.m., with no passengers on board.

Search my blog using Katrina and you'll find the real truth about Katrina and the media smear campign against Bush.

US - Katrina myths busted

As we approach the one year anniversary of Katrina, let's look back at a myth that persists today.

CNN's Miles O'Brien reported live that 30 people died in an aprtment complex.

M. O'BRIEN: Good morning. I'm Miles O'Brien, live from Biloxi, Mississippi. And this is the scene here at Beau Rivage. This is a casino that is popular to hundreds of people. Thousands of people come to visit here. This morning, it is a scene of destruction, as 25-foot storm surge came through here, blasting through this area, flooding out the two top floors of that hotel and casino. Fortunately, it was evacuated.

Not far from where I stand, impassible to us right new because the road here along the beach in Biloxi, sits the St. Charles apartment complex, where 30 people died in the midst of Katrina as it came through. We're trying to get to that location as we can. Police and recovery teams and rescue teams are on the scene right now, trying to do whatever they can and perhaps see if there is anybody trapped alive at that particular place.

If O'brien couldn't get to the complex how could he report 30 people died?

Turns out nobody died.

"We never recovered a single body from that location," said Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove.

Hargrove also heard reports of the 30 deaths. He immediately dispatched a search team to St. Charles.

"The minute they reported back and said, no there are not any, I went immediately to the news media and said it's not a true story, we didn't lose thirty of our people in that apartment complex," said Hargrove.

Still, the stories persisted and spread.

Yes, thanks to CNN, who have yet to correct their story even to this day.

The BBC, who were the worst in reporting lies and myths, at least tried to correct some of the record - at least on the Internet. How many people have read this versus how many so the outrageously biased reporting at the time? But even here, look at the obviously staged AP picture they use.

Iraq - Where's the outrage?

Gateway Pundit notes this:

In late July... 28 people and 16 children were killed during an Israeli airstrike in Qana, Lebanon. This drew international protests from London to Toronto to Argentina!

And yet there is no left wing media outrage at Muslim terrorists targeting soccer fields in Iraq and deliberately murdering children. Read his post.

Where's the outrage?

Iraq - Good news MSM fail to report on

Gateway Pundit has a report from an Iraqi blogger.

Iran - When not if

That's the way Charles Krauthammer sees it.

Realistically speaking, the point of this multilateral exercise cannot be to stop Iran's nuclear program by diplomacy. That has always been a fantasy. It will take military means. There will be terrible consequences from such an attack. These must be weighed against the terrible consequences of allowing an openly apocalyptic Iranian leadership from acquiring weapons of genocide.

The point of the current elaborate exercise in multilateral diplomacy is to slightly alter that future calculation. By demonstrating extraordinary forbearance and accommodation, perhaps we will have purchased the acquiescence of our closest allies -- Britain, Germany and, yes, France -- to a military strike on that fateful day when diplomacy has run its course.

I can't see that happening. France would be quite happy to sit back and let America do all the heavy lifting and take all the world's abuse for stopping the mad mullahs from getting the bomb.

UK - "Be clear, this is Asian apartheid"

And make no mistake, this is self imposed Asian apartheid.

I haven't read BBC newsreader, George Alagiah's, book yet, so I'm not sure if in it he get's to the heart of the matter. This interview with the London Times, skirts all around the issue. Listen and you'll see what I mean.

So began a Sri Lankan boy’s British odyssey. Lately this journey has taken the BBC newscaster to some of Britain’s most racially divided outposts, prompting him to write a book with disturbing conclusions: Britain, he suggests, is becoming an apartheid state; but while in South Africa this was the design of whites, in Britain, Alagiah says, it is sometimes immigrants’ “own fault” they are “left behind”.

Just as the true level of immigration is revealed, this is provoking quite a rumpus. Alagiah says what third worlders despised about British colonists was their refusal to “learn our languages, eat our food or wear our clothes”. Now he accuses some of those colonising Britain of displaying precisely the same insensitivity.

Hmmm. Who's he taling about I wonder?

He was also staggered to meet an Asian youth who could recall her every encounter with a white; there had been fewer than 10. And that was her loss because, as Alagiah reports, ethnic ghettos are among the poorest enclaves in Britain.

Hmmm.

Take his discovery that, far from growing more integrated, more Asians than ever are marrying first cousins. Whether this is due to pressure from families to blag passports for relatives, to restore cultural ties with their homelands or in some cases even because of love — the results are not good. There is a marked increase in health problems among offspring of such unions: a shocking argument against arranged marriage.

Give him credit it nails it arguing that Britains multiculturalism is partly to blame.

We move on to the causes of terrorism. Initially Alagiah makes predictable noises about “alienation”, but suddenly he grows more controversial. I ask why (a tiny minority) of young Asian men should seek to destroy a life their parents worked so hard to build. Alagiah replies: “For all the racism of 40 years ago there was a sense that you had to get along. There were no special schemes or props. Today there is no incentive to integrate, due to the ‘right to be different’ ethos.” Which is a polite way of saying Britain has been too soft. And he believes there are such things as “British values” that should supersede other values.

But he's still ignoring the elephant in the room and in so doing never gets to the real root of the whole problem - Islam. For it is Islam that teaches non integration, to not take infidels as friends. They don't want to integrate they want to dominate.

Nowhere in this interview will you find the words Islam or Muslim. Maybe it's in his book but I doubt it.

UK - Pinter to quit writing

Fantastic news! Now, if he's only shut up as well. Oh, and take Robert Fisk with him.

Lebanon - Hezbollah loathed in Lebanon; loved in the West

Tim Blair explains.

And the anti-war movement loves these terrorists. That should tell you all you need to know about today's anti-war movement.

Iran - Execution Of A Teenage Girl

Islam is such a lovely religion.

Iraq - Iranians top list of those arrested

No surprise there.

Baghdad, Aug. 27 – Iranians top the list of those arrested in one of the most commuted towns in the eastern Iraqi governorate of al-Wassit, the Iraqi television channel al-Iraqia reported.

The report, which aired on Friday, said that 1,580 Iranians had been arrested during recent patrols by security forces in al-Badra.

MIddle East - Palestinians "thugs" and "gangsters"

Refreshing and honest talk from Brit Hume.

Hume: Yes, and what an appealing faith these thugs must believe Islam is, that conversions have to be effected at the point of a gun. And what of the argument that all of the ills and troubles that beset the Palestinian people, that lead them to terrorism, are the cause of what they endlessly refer to as the illegal Israeli occupation.

Consider the latest rounds of trouble in Gaza and Lebanon, two places from which Israel has withdrawn.

It has been noted that not for one day after the Israeli pullout from Gaza did the rocket attacks that came from Gaza ever stop. We’re not dealing here with something that is susceptible to a political resolution of the kind of which the State Department and many a president has dreamed.

We’re dealing here with a lawless enemy whose goal far transcends any side-by-side, two-state solution. That isn’t going to do it. We’re dealing with a terrorist, gangland-style enemy, which I think it’s fair to conclude, and this episode only further illustrates it, must be defeated.

Even Hamas agrees.

The article, the first of its kind by a senior Hamas official, also questioned the effectiveness of the Kassam rocket attacks and noted that since Israel evacuated the Gaza Strip, the situation there has deteriorated on all levels. It holds the armed groups responsible for the crisis and calls on them to reconsider their tactics and to stop blaming Israel for their mistakes.

"Gaza is suffering under the yoke of anarchy and the swords of thugs," Hamad wrote. "I remember the day when Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip and closed the gates behind. Then, Palestinians across the political spectrum took to the streets to celebrate what many of us regarded as the Israeli defeat or retreat. We heard a lot about a promising future in the Gaza Strip and about turning the area into a trade and industrial zone."

Hamad said the "culture of life" that prevailed in the Strip has since been replaced with a nightmare. "Life became a nightmare and an intolerable burden," he said. "Today I ask myself a daring and frightening question: 'Why did the occupation return to Gaza?' The normal reply: 'The occupation is the reason.'"

UK - "Close extremist schools - Kelly "

Sounds great but I doubt the government will do this.

Islamic schools that promote "isolationism" and extremism should be closed, Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly has said.

The reason I doubt it will ever happen is Blair has yet to follow through on his promise to deport radical Imam's in the wake of 7/7. It has been over one year and to date not one has been deported.

Here's another promise that's already been broken.

She added the government was opposed to any form of law contrary to British civil law, such as Sharia law.

Someone forgot to tell Gordon Brown.

Gordon Brown, the chancellor, has already made one significant concession to adapt to the dictates of sharia. In the 2003 Finance Act he spared Muslims from paying stamp duty twice on their properties when they took out “Islamic mortgages” that complied with the sharia ban on paying interest.

Don't believe all this hype until you see some concrete action. Like rolling back all this Muslim appeasement.

via an email from Paul

UPDATE

Here's a good example of Blair's failed promise to arrest those glorifying terrorism.

How many more people have to be murdered by Muslims for the government to act instead of talk?

And why hasn't George Galloway been arrested?

Afghanistan - Taliban Commander, 15 Other Militants Killed

More good news from Afghanistan.

Iraq - How risky is it to our service members?

Not as risky as the anti-war crowd would have you think.

The same is probably true for UK troops in Afghanistan as the BBC reports.

The total number of UK troops killed while on operations in Afghanistan since 2001 has risen to 21 after a soldier was killed on 27 August 2006 in a clash with insurgents.

Of these, seven are known to have died either as a result of illness, non-combat injuries or accidents.

That means there have been 14 UK troops killed by hostile action in 5 years in Afghanistan; an average of less than 3 per year.

All service member's deaths are a tragedy but this puts things in perspective.

US - Plame leaker revealed

by Newsweek.

Before we get to the story, you got to love this bit at the end by Newsweek.

"...thus remained that rarest of Washington phenomena: a hot secret that never leaked."

Now that's funny. The blogsphere has been reporting for years who the leaker was - Richard Armitage.

Remember, as you read this Newsweek article, this is the same Newsweek that ran a bogus story about US troops desecrating the Koran which resulted in Muslim riots around the world and killed several people. And it's the same Newsweek that boasted it could deliver 14 points to Kerry in the last election. It's also the same Newsweek that called President Bush a dictator.

The disclosures about Armitage, gleaned from interviews with colleagues, friends and lawyers directly involved in the case, underscore one of the ironies of the Plame investigation: that the initial leak, seized on by administration critics as evidence of how far the White House was willing to go to smear an opponent, came from a man who had no apparent intention of harming anyone.

Really? Here's what Newsweek says in the very next paragraph.

Armitage routinely returned from White House meetings shaking his head at the armchair warriors. "One day," says Powell's former chief of staff Larry Wilkerson, "we were walking into his office and Rich turned to me and said, 'Larry, these guys never heard a bullet go by their ears in anger ... None of them ever served. They're a bunch of jerks'."

Now what was that Newsweek was saying about "...critics as evidence of how far the White House was willing to go to smear an opponent"? Newsweek being at the top of the list it would seem.

But officials at the White House also told reporters about Wilson's wife in an effort to discredit Wilson for his public attacks on Bush's handling of Iraq intelligence. Karl Rove confirmed to Novak that Wilson's wife worked at the CIA, and days later offered the same information to Time reporter Matt Cooper.

None of that is true and Newsweek knows it from the court documents filed by Fitzgerald. Karl Rove replied to a reporters assertion that she worked at the CIA by saying "I heard that too". Rove never "offered" anything to Cooper. It was Cooper who called Rove.

Notice also that Newsweek fails to report that the decalssified intelligence released by the White House proved the White House was telling the truth. Nor does Newsweek report that seperate independent investigations proved it was Wilson who was lying and his report actually backed up the administrations claims.

But heh, we are talking about Newsweek afterall.

UPDATE

More reactions here.

Lebanon - UN aided Hezbollah

No surprise there.

DURING THE RECENT month-long war between Hezbollah and Israel, U.N. "peacekeeping" forces made a startling contribution: They openly published daily real-time intelligence, of obvious usefulness to Hezbollah, on the location, equipment, and force structure of Israeli troops in Lebanon.

UNIFIL--the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, a nearly 2,000-man blue-helmet contingent that has been present on the Lebanon-Israel border since 1978--is officially neutral. Yet, throughout the recent war, it posted on its website for all to see precise information about the movements of Israeli Defense Forces soldiers and the nature of their weaponry and materiel, even specifying the placement of IDF safety structures within hours of their construction. New information was sometimes only 30 minutes old when it was posted, and never more than 24 hours old.

Meanwhile, UNIFIL posted not a single item of specific intelligence regarding Hezbollah forces. Statements on the order of Hezbollah "fired rockets in large numbers from various locations" and Hezbollah's rockets "were fired in significantly larger numbers from various locations" are as precise as its coverage of the other side ever got.

And the left wing media aided Hezbollah as well.

UK - Muslims deny mutiny set up

Seems the two Muslim students who caused a mutiny on a UK flight to Spain by acting suspiciously, propably set the whole thing up.

Industry sources revealed they booked their flights after the recent security scare began on 10 August, paying £166 each for the day-trip to Malaga. Although they have claimed that the purpose of the visit was to carry out research for a holiday in September, the pair decided to take an evening flight to the resort. It touched down at 7.25pm, leaving them just a few hours in Malaga before they had to check in for the 3am return journey.

And it gets more interesting...

Mr Ashraf and Mr Zeb have claimed to be students at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). They were due to be sitting exams yesterday morning, and therefore unavailable for further interviews.

However a spokesman for UMIST would neither confirm nor deny that Mr Ashraf and Mr Zeb were undergraduates. The university is closed until September. "We are aware that this has been said, but we can't go into details about our position on it," said the UMIST spokesman. "What I would say is that exam time was several months ago. The only exams that could possibly be going on this week would be resits, but we have no knowledge of those."

UK - Is it just terrorism that makes people fear Islam?

Listen to this from the Telegraph.

The alleged plot to blow up transatlantic airliners and last year's terrorist attacks on London have made more people fear Islam as a religion, not merely its extremist elements, a poll for The Daily Telegraph has found.

A growing number of people fear that the country faces "a Muslim problem" and more than half of the respondents to the YouGov survey said that Islam posed a threat to Western liberal democracy. That compares with less than a third after the September 11 terrorist attacks on America five years ago. [...]

Since a similar poll was conducted after the July 7 bombings in London last year, there has been a significant increase in the number of people worried about some of their Muslim compatriots.

The proportion of those who believe that "a large proportion of British Muslims feel no sense of loyalty to this country and are prepared to condone or even carry out acts of terrorism" has nearly doubled from 10 per cent a year ago to 18 per cent now.

The fact that 25% of British Muslims say that the 7/7 attacks were justified and an even higher number say they would not report a Muslim terrorist plot, explains a lot.

Most strikingly, there has been a substantial increase over the past five years in the numbers who appear to subscribe to a belief in a clash of civilisations. When YouGov asked in 2001 whether people felt threatened by Islam, as distinct from fundamentalist Islamists, only 32 per cent said they did. That figure has risen to 53 per cent.

Five years ago, a majority of two to one thought that Islam posed no threat, or only a negligible one, to democracy. Now, by a similar ratio, people think it is a serious threat.

Here again, the fact that 40% of British Muslims want Islamic law in Britain explains a lot.

And Britons are increasingly aware of the governments appeasement of Muslims at the loss of some of our freedoms. The Muhammad cartoon affair highlighted the clash of civilizations.

Before 9/11, 3/11, Bali and 7/7, most people were unaware of the true nature of Islam. It was a religion like any other they thought and Muslims were free to practice their religion. As these Muslim terror attacks increased, along with many more foiled and failed attempts, non Muslims began to take a harder look at Islam.

What they found was an intolerant, oppressive and violent religion. A religion that taught hate at home, in school and in the mosque. Death to gays, there is no other religion than Islam, Christians and Jews are apes and pigs, women are worth less than men and most importantly, there is no such thing as free speech and democracy. Here's a long list of videos to highlight some of the hate taught.

Time and time again we hear Muslim "leaders" say one thing to us non Muslims and the opposite to their Muslim brothers. Undercover ivestigations in mosques and Muslim communities show more of the same.

Recently, some of our leaders have begun to change their attitude towards Muslims. PM Blair delcared that we need to stop apologising for our stance on issues. Lord Stevens went further and said, it's a Muslim problem, they own it and they need to fix it. In this article, Kelly goes almost as far as to say multiculturalism is dead. All good words to hear but we need to hear it more often and louder. More importantly, Muslims need to hear it more often and much louder.

US - Another Democrat indicted

The list goes on and on and on ...

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- A federal grand jury charged state Sen. Jerry Cooper with bank fraud, mail fraud and conspiracy Tuesday in an indictment that says Cooper was "deep in debt and trying to avoid bankruptcy."

Neither Cooper, D-Morrison, nor his attorney, Jerry Summers of Chattanooga, responded to telephone messages seeking comment.

Iraq - Safer than Egypt?

Iraq the Model thinks so in some ways - maybe the most important way.

He was in Egypt for a blogger conference and had some interesting observations.

My participation in this meeting renewed my hope and strengthened my feeling that we're not fighting this battle alone. The beautiful thing about the meeting is that everyone is looking forward to see the Iraq experiment unfold to something good that will reflect positively on all those who have accepted the Middle East to be their home.

On the other hand the destructive effect of the media-that abbreviated Iraq to a car bomb leaving away or ignoring the other good side of the story which is the birth of a democracy-was also clear. I was trying hard to clarify the blurred image asking the others not to judge something huge like the change in Iraq through events in a relatively very short time compared to the history of nations.

Democracy is a process, not an event, it has been said.

It may sound a bit odd but that's really what I felt in Egypt that I don't feel in my war-torn city; for the first time in 3 years I felt the restrains of government…I told one of my colleagues I feel safe in Baghdad despite the dangers, I may feel afraid of terrorists or random violence but I never fear the government and that's not only how I feel, Iraqis are not afraid of expressing their differences with the authority because we in Iraq have more or les became part of that authority the day we elected our representatives while terrorists and militias are nothing more than temporary phenomenon that unlike constitution and elections have no solid foundations.

Of course our democratic foundations need a lot of work to meet our aspirations but we are walking this road and none of us is willing to go back and maybe the three thousands that were murdered last month tell that Iraqis are ready to pay the price and fight to preserve and improve our achievements. The magnitude of the change explains the confusion in some of our steps but we have not given up and we're not ready to surrender, not yet.

But the Democrats are.

Read the whole thing.

Human Rights Watch: megaphone for the hard Left

Glenn has some links to explain.

US - Editor of E&P admits faking a story

Recently, I posted about Greg Mitchell's, editor of Editor and Publisher, complaint over bloggers exposing the faking of the news coming out of Lebanon.

Seems Greg had a good reason to be worried about bloggers exposing fake news stories - Mitchell's faked a story himself.

Now that was a long time ago, Mitchell owned up to it and you might let it go at that. But Mitchell's recent attack on bloggers in an attempt to cover up the fake reporting from Lebanon, indicated he's not fit to be the editor of Editor and Publisher.

Will Mitchell be the next scalp on the bloggers belt? We'll see.

MSM still don't get it that the rules of the game have changed. Until they do we'll continue to see more of this.

UPDATE

Now Mitchell's trying hard to cover his ass on his own admission to faking a story. Unreal! It's as if they don't know the blogsphere actually exists.

Mitchell really does have to go now.

US - Left hoping for another terror attack

This is how deranged the left really are.

Here's a really good fisking of this moonbattery from the left.

German - More arrests in terror bomb plot

It's important to note, that this plot failed and was not foiled. Had these bombs gone off it will have killed many.

UK - "Muslims 'face barriers' over sport "

Shouldn't the BBC's headline read "Muslims face self-imposed barriers over sport"?

Eighteen-year-old Raheema from Tower Hamlets in east London explains how she only plays badminton in her backyard, away from prying eyes.

She is not encouraged to do any sport by her family who would rather see her in the kitchen or sewing. She last did sport regularly at school as it was compulsory then.

The last time she went swimming was six years ago when she was 12 years old and before she hit puberty. Raheema says this is because no Muslim girl can wear a revealing swimming costume.

Seventeen-year-old Asha on the other hand, another Muslim girl from east London, is a sport enthusiast.

She loves playing football and has been playing for the past seven years and has the trophies to prove it.

But she knows her days playing the game are numbered. Her mother, father and eldest brother are against her playing.

She says they will probably stop her from playing next year when she is 18. She will be a woman then and have to take on responsibilities.

What a thoroughly modern religion Islam is. Even when their adults, Muslim women still can't make decisions for themselves. That chirping you hear is the women's rights movement.

Meanwhile, Sport England is working to try to get more Muslim women doing sport.

And how are they doing that?

It is funding projects which target these groups and put on exclusive women-only activities which allow women wearing the full hijab and covered up to still take part.

The pole vault should be interesting.

More special treatment and appeasement for Muslims even though they just told you Muslims think sports are a waste of time and women have better things to do. How is this helping Muslims integrate into British society?

US - Miami Muslim terrorist on tape

Here's a collection of videos and transcripts detailing how serious this plot really was.

And here's a direct link to a very damning video.

Notice the female reporter, Mary Ann Childers, I went to high school with her. She was into television when we were in the 10th grade.

UK - 53% feel threatened by Islam

Is Britain finally waking up?

Most people in the UK feel threatened by Islam, a poll has revealed, after the Government launched a bid to tackle inter-faith tensions.

The YouGov survey for the Daily Telegraph found 53% were concerned about the impact of the religion - not just fundamentalist elements - up 21% from 2001.

There had also been a near doubling of the number agreeing that "a large proportion of British Muslims feel no sense of loyalty to this country and are prepared to condone or even carry out acts of terrorism".

Not surprising since 40% of Muslims in the UK want to adopt Islamic law and 25% think the 7/7 bombings were justified.

Pakistan - "Honour" murders

KARACHI: Five people, including a teenaged couple that married against their families’ will, have been killed by relatives in the latest incident of honour killing, police said on Thursday. The couple – Kamalan and Allah Rakhio – both 18 and from rival clans in the southern province of Sindh, had married about three months ago after eloping, said Usman Subaho, a police officer investigating the case. “They were killed just a few days after returning to their village, after getting married in Karachi,” he said. “We have identified 10 men who took part in this carnage and are hunting for them,” he said. The girl’s family took her wedding as a slight on their honour. The attackers stormed the couple’s house early on Wednesday morning killing them and three other family members including a three-year-old girl, said Subaho. Eleven family members were wounded in the attack, he said. Reuters

UK - Charity Commission freezes Crescent Relief

funds.

LONDON: Britain’s charity watchdog said on Thursday it had frozen the accounts of Crescent Relief as part of a probe into allegations that the charity was linked to a plot to blow up transatlantic airliners.

No mention of this from the BBC?

When is the Commission going to investigate the Muslim Council of Britain, Blair's favorite go to body on Muslim issues, which has never filed its accounts as required by law?

Islam - Why don't feminist protest Muslim abuses?

Here's one feminist's thoughts.

Did you know that in Iran, a woman's testimony is worth less than a man's, that she cannot travel without her husband's permission and that the penalty for adultry is death by stoning?

Did you know that in Saudi Arabia, women are not allowed to drive and if they want to report spouse abuse to the police, they need their spouse's permission and must be accompanied to the police by a male relative?

The list goes on and on and yet the feminist movement is largely silent. Why?

Iraq - Terrorist Training house:video

Chilling

Lebanon - Why is your view of the war so distorted?

Because journalists are too lazy to tell you the truth. That's according to Channel Four's Alex Thomson. In an article where Thomson tries to defend the BBC's Orla Guerin over her biased report, he has this to say:

However Thomson said that "because a lot of journalists are lazy" much of the British public hold the inaccurate perception that Lebanon had been completely destroyed.

It's not that they're lazy Alex, they're biased.

UK - Integration and how to achieve it

I watched Ruth Kelly's, the Communities Secretary, speech today. I got the overall impression that this is just another "government being seen to be doing something" program, without any substance. We'll have to wait and see what they come up with.

Here are a few things that caught my eye.

One of the first things she, and just about anybody in the government, talked about was how immigration was such a good thing for Britain. On some levels that's true but uncontrolled immigration is not. She cited as examples, of how Britain gains from diversity, people visiting Nottinghill Carnival and Brick Lane.

Immigration has helped enrich our cultural life, with the capital's diversity now commonly acknowledged to be one of its key attractions. A weekend spent at the Notting Hill Carnival or exploring Brick Lane are attracting tourists and residents alike.

That's your first clue Kelly isn't up to this job, for if this is the Brick Lane she's talking about, it's a good example of multicultralism failure.

Now comes the next clue - multiculturalism's failure, like just about all Muslims grievances - is our fault.

And as this complex picture evolves, there are white Britons who do not feel comfortable with change. They see the shops and restaurants in their town centres changing. They see their neighbourhoods becoming more diverse. Detached from the benefits of those changes, they begin to believe the stories about ethnic minorities getting special treatment, and to develop a resentment, a sense of grievance.

"Stories" Ruth? Come now dear. Are all these acts of Muslim appeasement just stories?

And if you have to ask...

In our attempt to avoid imposing a single British identity and culture, have we ended up with some communities living in isolation of each other, with no common bonds between them?

Gee, you think? Here's a suggestion for you Ruth. Go visit Beeston.

Here's the next clue that Ruth isn't up to the task or that this is just government lip service.

First she says this:

We must not be censored by political correctness, and we must not tiptoe around important issues.

Then she censors herself and tiptoes around the most important issue.

It is also clear that our ideas and policies should not be based on special treatment for minority ethnic or faith communities. That would only exacerbate division rather than help build cohesion. And as a society we have to have the confidence to say no to certain suggestions from particular ethnic groups.

One has to wonder, after dropping the censorship, PC and tiptoeing, why Ruth is still unable to name those she is planning on saying no to?

The bravado continues as Ruth tells us we must not be afraid to tell people to abide by our laws.

And I also want to see a clear understanding that although fundamental rights must be equal for everyone, with rights come responsibilities. Even within a framework of mutual tolerance, I believe that there are non-negotiable rules, understood by all groups, both new and established. We must be clear and unafraid to say that we expect these will be shared and followed by all who live here.

Ruth's telling us we should not be afraid to tell others to follow our "non-negotiable rules", while at the same time not telling us what those rules are. What's she afraid of?

Ruth then reverts back to the "it's our fault" meme.

But evidence at a national level, via the regular Government Citizenship Survey, which consistently shows that people who live in the most ethnically diverse areas are the ones that have the most positive perceptions of ethnic minorities. It seems that those who are the most frightened about change are those that have been least exposed to it.

Er, Ruth, wouldn't the most ethnically diverse areas by deffinition have the most positive perceptions about diversity? Duh.

Ruth must think the rest of us live in caves without televisions, radios, the Internet and newspapers. How else to explain the "least exposed to it" comment?

Diversity isn't the issue here. States within a state is the real issue. Remember, 40% of British Muslims want the UK to adopt Islamic law. And they want us to change our culture to suit them.

She ends by implying Muslims need to tackle the radicals in their midsts. No, she didn't say that outright. The dropping of censorship, PC and tiptoeing around the issues is gone already - if it was ever there.

Those who seek to cause conflict and tension in our communities must be marginalised by the responsible majority. That means everyone is involved.

Now, I wonder who on earth Ruth is talking about here?
