Obama Advisers To Public: Temper Expectations

He lied.

"CHICAGO (CBS) ― President-elect Barack Obama and his inner circle fear that some voters expect him to turn around the economy, wind down the war in Iraq and, perhaps, cure cancer -- all by the Fourth of July.

They know they must manage and lower those expectations, CBS 2 Political Editor Mike Flannery reports. "

Bill Ayers: Barack Obama a 'family friend'

But according to Obama, Ayers was "just a guy who lives in my neighbourhood.

"In a new afterword to his memoir, 1960s radical William Ayers describes himself as a "family friend" of President-elect Barack Obama and writes that the campaign controversy over their relationship was an effort by Obama's political enemies to "deepen a dishonest narrative" about the candidate.

Ayers describes phone threats and hate e-mail he received during the campaign, and he bemoans Obama's guilt by association.

During the campaign, Ayers' friendship with Obama was a favorite subject of conservative bloggers and talk show hosts who insisted the two were closer than the candidate was admitting. Ayers' new description of the relationship seems to contradict Obama's statements."

Remember, Ayers is a home grown terrorist who said on 9/11 he wished he had bombed more.

Barack Obama is looking more like a realist

Aw, you mean "The One" can't live up to the left wing media's expectations?

"Reporting from Washington -- Now that the confetti has fallen, the nascent administration of Barack Obama has come face to face with one of its biggest challenges: living up to the exceptionally high expectations his thrilling campaign produced among supporters and long-suffering Democrats."

Don't be so modest LA Times, you and the rest of the media were the cheerleaders for Obama and as such are just as responsible for the false expectations generated.

Saudi Arabia to Lead U.N. Faith Forum

Notice it says "LEAD".

"UNITED NATIONS, Nov. 11 -- Saudi Arabia, the oil-rich Islamic kingdom that forbids the public practice of other religious faiths, will preside Wednesday over a two-day U.N. conference on religious tolerance that will draw more than a dozen world leaders, including President Bush, Israeli President Shimon Peres and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

The event is part of a personal initiative by Saudi King Abdullah to promote an interfaith dialogue among the world's major religions. The Saudi leader agreed for the first time to dine in the same room with the Israeli president at a private, pre-conference banquet Tuesday hosted by U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. But Ban hinted that the two leaders -- whose governments do not have diplomatic relations -- were not seated at the same table. "

Notice too that these forums are never held in Saudi Arabia.

Obama-Hamas Contacts Bode Ill

Why would anyone be surprised by this?

Obama to ban "right to carry" laws?

We'll see.

Obama to ban drilling

So much for independence from Saudi oil, eh?

""They want to have oil and gas drilling in some of the most sensitive, fragile lands in Utah," Podesta said. Expect Obama to rescind that action and reissue the executive order banning offshore drilling in protected waters."

world has to rethink its image of a racist US

Don't hold your breath.

"Or, in the words of Ugandan journalist and commentator Charles Onyango-Obbo, in a column written before the election: 'If Obama is elected President, thousands of public intellectuals, radical professors and social activists and nationalist politicians and journalists will be plunged into crisis. Now they will have to explain how it is possible that a black person could be elected in this profoundly racist country.'"

Don't worry they still have globalization and global warming to fall back on.

Obama supporters regretting mistake already

Hey, we told you so.

"But the prospect of Jamie Gorelick heading up the Department of Justice is worth filibustering, if anything or anyone is. She's not "change you can believe in," she's "change guaranteed to cause even more cosmic calamities" because she's done that consistently in the past."

Ann Althouse is having regrets.

"I voted for Obama, as I'm sure my commenters are about to remind me, and I'm hoping for the best. He told me to hope! Please don't crush my hope so early, Mr. Obama."

That's what you voted on? Hope? That's it? Didn't Obama's continual flip flops give you just a hint that he would say anything to get elected? Didn't the fact that Obama did not have one major accomplishment in his life give you a clue? He told you he was a socialitst and would raise taxes. Obama has a history of far left friends who hate America. And you went with hope. How stupid can you get?

You people who voted for Obama are going to get burned and burned bad. You were warned.

Hey world, show us the money

The world wanted a far leftist as US president and they backed Obama to the hilt. Now it's time to pay up.

"So to everyone overseas I say: thanks for your applause for our new president. I’m glad you all feel that America “is back.” If you want Obama to succeed, though, don’t just show us the love, show us the money. Show us the troops. Show us the diplomatic effort. Show us the economic partnership. Show us something more than a fresh smile. Because freedom is not free and your excuse for doing less than you could is leaving town in January. "

Good luck with that.

Jamie Gorelick - Obama's pick for AG?

Bring in more failed Democrats. Now that's change.

"Carries as baggage: Her work at Fannie Mae, which had to be bailed out by the government in September as part of a $200 billion deal. Ms. Gorelick left the company just as it was coming under attack for huge accounting failures. She has also drawn criticism for her role at the Justice Department, in which she allegedly created an intelligence “wall” that hindered counterterrorism agents in the years before the Sept. 11 attacks. Conservatives called for her removal from the Sept. 11 commission, but her fellow members rallied around her and said critics were distorting her record. The criticism grew so heated that the F.B.I. investigated a death threat against her family, and President Bush had to intervene personally to stop the Justice Department from releasing sealed reports involving her. Some conservative bloggers have already begun trying to derail Ms. Gorelick’s possible nomination as attorney general, pointing to her experiences at both Fannie Mae and the Sept. 11 commission."

Well somebody has to and it certainly won't be left wing rags like the NYT.

Media still love Ayers

Change? What change?

Emanuel Was Director Of Freddie Mac During Scandal

NOW they want to report on Democrat scandals?

The return to reality

Sadly, it will take a long time for that to happen.

I was around a friends house last night for a few drinks and the election came up. One in the group had made a bet with a friend that Obama's middle name was Hussein and they turned to me for confirmation. Raise your hand if you think it is, I said. Only one raised their hand. I then asked them if anyone of them could name any accomplishment by Obama before his election. No one could. I asked them if they knew Obama lived in Indonesia as a child and attended a Madras. Howls of laughter and disbelief ensued - until they looked it up on the internet. I asked if they knew Obama smoked pot and took cocaine. You'll believe anything you read they snorted. Until I showed them passages from Obama's memoirs. These were Obama supporters mind you.

And so the night went. Finally, one in the group turned to me, exasperated that I had exposed their total ignorance of their beloved Obama, and said to me, "well, at least he isn't Bush". And there it was, the real reason they liked Obama.

Ignorance is bliss they say. These people must be real happy.

Stunned Icelanders Struggle

Just in case you think you've got it bad.

The NYT tries to be optimistic.

"Despite all this, Icelanders are naturally optimistic, a trait born, perhaps, of living in one of the world’s most punishing landscapes and depending for so much of their history on the fickle fishing industry. The weak krona will make exports more attractive, they point out. Also, Iceland has a highly educated, young and flexible population, and has triumphed after hardship before. "

And just what are those exports? The "fickle fishing industry".

"Fishing industry is one important industry, which provides 70% of export income and employs 6.0% of the workforce; therefore, the state of the economy remains sensitive to world prices for fish products."

Not a good time to be an Icelander.

The night we waved goodbye to America

and said hello to socialism.

Democrat Chris Dodd under ivestigation

Barney Frank should be investigated too.

Democrat Rangel and his tax scandal

continue.

"Rangel in September said he would hire a "forensic accountant" (think: "CSI: Charlie") to untangle a 20-year morass of tax returns and to determine just how much money he's made and how much in unpaid taxes he may still owe.

(Reminder: Rangel's committee writes the nation's tax laws.)

But as The Post's Isabel Vincent reported, two months later Rangel's lawyers claim they can't locate a single qualified firm that hasn't contributed to Rangel's campaigns or has no pending business before Ways & Means.

The same lawyers, incidentally, have already been paid more than $121,000 from Rangel's campaign committee.

Generally, that's a no-no. And though Rangel's staff insists he got a required advance OK from the Federal Elections Commission, the FEC says otherwise: An agency spokeswoman insists that neither Rangel nor anyone representing him even asked for a determination. "

What say you Obama?

How Obama Can Win Over The Media

Obviously CBS doesn't care about its credibility. But after Rathergate we already knew that.

The Washington Post tries meekly to regain some of its credibility.

Barack Obama is only human, you know

But, but before the election the media promised us Obama was a God - "The One". More lowering of expectations. Now that they helped elect him, know he can't deliver, the media have to lower expectations in order to try and preserve any credibility they have left.

Labour ‘racism’ would block British Obama

Interesting times, eh?

"Barack Obama would never have been elected prime minister in this country because of “institutional racism” in the Labour Party, the head of Britain’s equality watchdog has told The Times. "

So now Britain is the racist country while America is no longer. Evidently, like America, Britain will remain a racist country until an Obama is elected. How does that feel now the shoe is on the other foot?

Well, Obama did promise to part the seas but I bet no one saw this coming.

Obama is not President of the World

The lowering of expectations is going global.

"But answering them is quite another thing. So let's get this straight. Barack Obama has not been elected President of the World; the world is not his constituency; and his responsibilities to the world are secondary. He is President-elect of an important but declining power, and his responsibilities, especially in hard times, are to its citizens. He will anyway be immensely constrained through the mechanisms of the American Constitution, by domestic opinion; his popularity may be at the mercy of the economy; and the American people, though plainly beguiled by his freshness and charm and their own despair at the alternative, have not this week been transfigured into liberal internationalists. In the day they were electing Mr Obama, many states were rejecting gay marriage by clear margins.

And this whole thing could go very sour."

Oh, don't worry, it will, it will.

And as a result of the failed gay initiatives, gays are now openly using the N word against blacks who voted overwhelmingly against them.

He fails to mention that 3 out of 4 green initiatives failed as well.

And what does "The One" do at his very first press event since being elected? Insults Nancy Reagan, beloved by most Americans, and has to apologize.

Obama apologizes to Nancy Reagan

The guys not even in office yet and he's already screwing up. This is why he and Biden stayed clear of the media in the last few months of the campaign. Now that they're elected, they will have to face the press from time to time. Watch, this will only get worse.

Obama Announces Creation Of His Marxist Youth Corps

Is the "change" Obamabots had in mind?

"Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. "

Note the "require".

Obama's plan can't help economy

And that's from MSNBC, Obama's most rabid supporter! The lowering of expectations sure is growing large and fast.

Preventing National Suicide

Must read of the day.

Democratic leaders in the U.S. House discuss confiscating 401(k)s, IRAs

Those that voted for Obama are going to get their wish.

"RALEIGH — Democrats in the U.S. House have been conducting hearings on proposals to confiscate workers’ personal retirement accounts — including 401(k)s and IRAs — and convert them to accounts managed by the Social Security Administration."

Under Obama, Dark Days Seen Ahead For Fossil Fuels

NOW the media is worried? Priceless.

Russia Warns of Missile Deployment

That didn't take long now did it?

"MOSCOW — President Dmitri A. Medvedev of Russia greeted his future American counterpart, Senator Barack Obama, with bristling language on Wednesday, promising to place short-range missiles on Russia’s western border if Washington proceeded with its planned missile defense system in Eastern Europe."

Ah, don't sweat it Ruskies. With Obama in now you can forget about that missile defense system. By the way, while you're at it, go ahead and take Georgia. May as well take the Ukraine while you're at it.

Stocks biggest post-election drop in history.

Oops.

Asians uneasy over Obama trade stance

But, but, the left wing media told us the world loved Obama.

"He appears to be a protectionist," said Chea Mony, president of the Free Trade Union of Workers in Cambodia, which has an export-driven textile industry. "I am quite concerned about that because most of our clothing products are exported to America."

Too late now suckers.

Obama’s Real Agenda On Coal Now Clear

West Virgina wakes up to the real Obama. Welcome back to reality folks.

Dead voters cast votes in Ohio

More election stealing by Democrats.

"But this isn't the first time we've uncovered dead voters. Two years ago, another 5 On Your Side investigation exposed 13,000 dead voters registered in Cuyahoga County. More than two dozen of them cast ballots.

Back then, NewsChannel5 was told dead voters would be removed from the rolls.

Now, on the eve of an historic election -- when every vote in Cuyahoga County is considered crucial -- our NewsChannel5 investigation has once again uncovered thousands of dead voters still on the rolls, and ballots still being cast from beyond. "

Ohio reacts to Obama "bankrupt" coal industry

People are just now waking up to the real Obama. Let's hope it's not too late, but, we told you so.

""Regardless of the timing or method of the release of these remarks, the message from the Democratic candidate for President could not be clearer: the Obama-Biden ticket spells disaster for America's coal industry and the tens of thousands of Americans who work in it.

"These undisputed, audio-taped remarks, which include comments from Senator Obama like 'I haven't been some coal booster' and 'if they want to build [coal plants], they can, but it will bankrupt them' are extraordinarily misguided.

"It's evident that this campaign has been pandering in states like Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana and Pennsylvania to attempt to generate votes from coal supporters, while keeping his true agenda hidden from the state's voters.

"Senator Obama has revealed himself to be nothing more than a short- sighted, inexperienced politician willing to say anything to get a vote. But today, the nation's coal industry and those who support it have a better understanding of his true mission, to 'bankrupt' our industry, put tens of thousands out of work and cause unprecedented increases in electricity prices. "

Well gee, Biden is on tape saying no to coal.

People better wake up to Obama before its too late.

Obama and the media try to steal the election

No matter who wins tommorrow, this has been the most disgraceful election - thanks to Obama and the media.

Dem. Congressman: "Let [Russia] Invade Georgia. It's Right Next to Them."

So is Alaska.

Video - Obama says he will bankrupt coal industry

Democrat says Obama lacks "political courage"

Watch the video.

"And then, the line that may haunt Nadler for four years or longer: “He didn't have the political courage to make the statement of walking out.

“Now, what does it tell me?” Nadler asked. “It tells me that he wasn't terribly political courageous. Does it tell me that he agreed with the reverend in any way? No. It tells me he didn't want to walk out of a church in his district.”

McCain Story You've Probably Forgotten

Here's a reminder.

Who really found Obama's aunt?

The UK media. The left wing media in the US would not dare research anything on "The One".

Obama - "Under my plan .. electricity rates would .. skyrocket"

Listen to Obama admitting it.

"You know, when I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know — Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad. Because I’m capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it — whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, uh, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers."

That's if you have any left after Obama has spread your income around.

But you don't have to worry about coal because "Barack Obama promised to bankrupt anyone foolish enough to build coal-burning power plants..."

Obama says he will bankrupt coal industry

Now you know why Biden said there would be no more coal plants in America.

An audio excerpt from the interview can be found at YouTube.

Obama: "So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."
