Britain discovers UN oil for food scam

Last week I noted how the BBC had woke up to the UN oil for food scandal and true to form set about blaming the US for the scandal. This despite the fact that the program was designed and run by the UN over many objections by the US.

Now the UK's Sunday Times has "discovered" the UN scam.

British media, much like US media, have done all they can to bury the biggest financial scandal the world has ever seen. And when they are forced, mainly by bloggers, into reporting on it, they waste no time in trying to spin blame on the US.

The UN oil for food scandal is a UN owned and managed scandal, plain and simple. Saddam used the oil money that was meant to alleviate the suffering of his people to bribe permanent members of the UN security council, specifically France, Russia and China.

Finally the story is getting too big for main stream media to ignore and instead of focusing on the US they should be focusing on the UN and Koffi Annan.
