Alexander - why it's a flop

I haven't seen the film and don't intend to. It's just not my kind of film and besides the nearest movie house to me is 35 miles away!

Oliver Stone, the director and Moritz Borman, the producer, both blame "dumb" America. Strangely, Colin Farrell the actor who plays Alexander in the film, sees it differently.

Colin Farrell, who plays the title role, helpfully added his own explanation for the biopic's commercial failure: "The film is a draining experience to watch. It's loaded with mythology, icons, symbolism and destiny. My friends have watched the film and said: 'Jesus Christ, it's not exactly Gladiator'."

And as Powerline notes:

In other words, it's a turkey. American audiences can spot "mythology, icons, symbolism and destiny" a mile away.

Powerline also speculates "To some extent, I suppose Stone and Borman were trying to hype the film's UK attendance by flattering the European audience."

But you decide.

UPDATE:

Looks like you decided already! Verdict? Americans are not dumb the movie sucks.
