Britain - Clean Up the Terror Swamp Now?

Now that she has been attacked will Britain do something about this?

BEIRUT -- When Islamic militants massacred 58 tourists in Egypt in 1997, the government issued a list of 14 most-wanted militants it accused of inspiring the attacks. Half were living in London, and none were arrested.

A year later, when suicide bombers attacked two U.S. embassies in East Africa, killing 224 people, three men with ties to Egyptian militant groups were arrested in London for circulating claims of responsibility. They are still fighting extradition to the United States.

For two decades, London has been a haven for Islamic militants fleeing crackdowns in the Middle East. Yesterday, for the first time, the city appeared to fall victim to Islamist violence.

Or this?

There are some things you should know, though, about Mayor Livingstone before you applaud his steadfastness against evil. Despite his strong words lambasting terrorism, Livingstone, a radical Labour Party politician, has been a staunch defender of one of the Islamists' top, suicide bomb-advocating clerics. Last July, Livingstone welcomed Sheikh Yusuf al Qaradawi to London for a radical Muslim conference and condemned those who protested as bigots. Read his apologia for al Qaradawi here, if you can stomach it. More here and here on how Red Ken has defended the fanatical Islamist leader as a "moderate."

Or these?

December 2001: London-born Richard Reid, the so-called Shoe Bomber, was convicted of trying to blow up American Airlines Flight 63 from Paris to Miami on December 22, 2001.

May 2003: Brits Asif Mohammed Hanif and Omar Khan Sharif murdered three people and wounded scores at a Tel Aviv bar.

May 2003: Via The Command Post, 50 Suicide Bombers In UK.

February 2004: Omar Bakri of Britain's radical Al-Muhajiroun exhorts Muslim children to become suicide bombers.

July 2004: Al-Muhajiroun continues to glorify suicide bombers.

July 2004: Britain allows suicide-bombing advocate Yusuf Al-Qaradawi into the country.

Will Britain wake up now?
