Britain - Terror Mastermind Identified

But there are a lot more worrying details in this report.

POLICE believe they have identified the British-born man who masterminded the suicide bomb attacks on London.

For some strange reason they don't give us his name. But they give us a lot of details that give us cause for concern.

The leader of the terrorist cell is understood to have been involved in previous terrorist operations and have links with al-Qaida in the United States.

The focus of the police investigation emerged today as police sources confirmed that the name of one of the bombers had emerged during a major anti- terrorist operation last year.

The Home Office and Metropolitan police refused today to deny the suggestion, saying the suspect had never previously been arrested or questioned.

Questions, questions.

How did the leader get into the UK if he was involved "in previous terrorist operations"?

If the name of one of the bombers "emerged during a major anti- terrorist operation last year" why was he not questioned?

Detectives were today still trying to trace two other suspected members of the suicide bomb team and others who may have helped them.

One of the men was seen with the other four bombers on CCTV cameras at Luton station as they set off for London. There are fears that the man, also believed to be of Pakistani origin, could be a fifth bomber, still at large in the London area.
