Al-Qaeda 'blames Blair for bombs'

New tape from Zawahri, same old message from al Qaeda.

Osama Bin Laden's lieutenant Ayman al-Zawahri has warned London will face more attacks because of Tony Blair's foreign policy decisions.

His comments were made in a videotape which was broadcast on Arab satellite channel al-Jazeera.

The al-Qaeda deputy said: "Blair has brought you destruction to the heart of London, and he will bring more destruction, God willing."

But hey, just in case you think it's just some lunatic Muslim saying that, the BBC wants you, and Muslim terrorists around the world to know, that even some members of Parliament feel that way as well - even if it is a lunatic MP.

Some critics, including MP George Galloway, said the war in Iraq had helped to spark the attacks on London.

The BBC doesn't ask, no surprise there, and Zawahri doesn't tell us, why al Qaeda planned to fly an airplane into Parliament on 9/11/2001. We weren't in Afghanistan or Iraq the time.

Perhaps Blair is right when he says "...the roots of extremism were much deeper. " The evidence certainly supports that conclusion.

On the other hand, you can sleep sound, for the BBC tells us in their "The Power of Nightmares" that al Qaeda is just a myth and illusion. Except of course if you live in London where those "myths" murdered over 50 innocent people.

UPDATE

The Times points out that Zawahiri's tape proves Iraq is not the key to keeping Britain safe.

Al-Zawahiri did not claim responsibility, but he did set out specifically al-Qaeda's terms for stopping its terrorist campaign, namely that coalition forces should pull out of Iraq, Afghanistan and "the land of Muhammad" (the Muslim world), stop buying oil from the Middle East and stop supporting the region's "corrupt rulers".

This is significant because it suggests that pulling troops out of Iraq alone would not be enough to avert further violence. It also suggests that the West's struggle against al-Qaeda is not going to end any time soon.
