In 2005 there were 846 US military casualties in Iraq.
In 2005 there were 860 homicides in the Los Angeles area.
Neither is a statistic to be proud of but it puts the war in Iraq in perspective. The fact that there were more deaths on the streets of LA than in the supposedly most dangerous country in the world is telling. Remember, that's just LA, when you add in other major cities it's even more revealing.
And it looks like we are seeing the beginning of the end of Zarqawi and al Qaeda.
