UK - Huge shake up at the Guardian

Judy has some great news if it's all true.

That's no less than Seumas Milne has been overthrown, and is no longer editor of the Comments section. I haven't yet heard what's become of him, but I gather it's going to have huge repercussions.
Equally sensational is the news that his replacement is no less than Melanie Phillips. And it appears she now has the ear of kingpin Alan Rusbridger, the editor. Well, she did have a very long career as a senior editor at the Guardian. So Milne's sacking is the first of a huge series of changes. You won't just be seeing Oliver Kamm featuring on a regular basis. Names like David Aaronovitch, Norman Geras, Mark Steyn and even David T of Harry's Place are being mooted as the Graun's new star columnists. And even Scott Burgess is set to run a weekly column on statistics, economics and political thought.

Left wing outlets like the Guardian and the BBC are warming up to bloggers. They know their days as sole gatekeepers of the megaphone, spouting out left wing propaganda, are numbered.

UPDATE

Some are speculating that this is an early April fools joke. Time will tell.

Oh, well, Judy was just having some fun and decided to do a spoof of the Guardian after they published Oliver Kamm's pro Iraq war piece. Still is was interesting to see the Guardian publishing such a pro-war article.

It's interesting because it comes on the heels of a positive story out of Iraq by CBS. Yes, that CBS, the one that tried to use forged documents to smear Bush.

So, are these far left wing rags hedging their bets now that it's becoming clear we are winning in Iraq?
