US - The Kos Kurse

The New York Times takes a look at "screw them" Kos's new book and likes what it sees. No surprise there is there?

For all the talk about having to crash gates, the netroots are well on their way to becoming insiders. Mr. Armstrong is an adviser to the political action committee of Mark Warner, a leading candidate for president in 2008. When dailykos holds an offline convention this June in Las Vegas, Harry Reid, the Senate minority leader, will be a speaker.

The Democratic establishment could not hold the netroots back even if it wanted to. Their ability to raise money, recruit volunteers and shape the debate will make them indispensable. What "Crashing the Gates" is short on is policy: ideas for providing health care, improving education, and all the other things that make it important which party wins. As the gates swing open, that should be the next item on the agenda.

As is the entire Democratic party. The only policy the Democrats have is anything that is anti-Bush, no matter how good his policy might be.

As is usual when the NYT reports on the Democrats, they leave out the important stuff. Here's what the NYT isn't telling you.

Daily Kos raised more than $500,000 to assist the campaigns of fifteen candidates. None were elected.

That's worth repeating. Of the 15 candidates that Kos endorsed and raised over $500,000 for, not a single one was elected.

Which prompted this response:

And may I say, more than a few Republicans (oh, please, please, PLEASE give Markos more of a role in the Democratic Party!).

Any endorsement by Kos is now viewed by Democrats as the "Kos Kurse".
