US - Iraq war was to teach Arabs a lesson

for 9/11. That's according to Newsweeks, the magazine with the fake Koran flushing story, Evan Thomas. I believe it was Thomas who said Nesweek could deliver 10 points for Kerry.

MATTHEWS: Have you ever figured out what it was? Was it regime change?

(CROSSTALK)

THOMAS: After 9/11 they felt they had to teach the Arabs a lesson. It was a demonstration of American force. We wanted to show the world, particularly the Arabs, how tough we were. I think that’s why we went to war.

Like most on the Left and the Left wing media, they hope you have a short memory. Thanks to bloggers and the Internet, we have long memories.

As Newsbusters points out, Clinton signed the 1998 Iraq Liberation Act, which made regime change in Iraq official US policy.

Thomas hopes you won't re-read Bush's address to the UN where he laid out his reasons for going to war in Iraq. WMD's were just one of them.
