US - Sami Al-Arian pleads guilty

What do those on the Left who so loudly defended him, have to say about this.

WASHINGTON, April 17 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Former University of South Florida Professor Sami Al-Arian has pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiring to provide services to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a specially designated terrorist organization, in violation of U.S. law, the Department of Justice announced today.

In a closed proceeding before a federal magistrate at U.S. District Court in the Middle District of Florida last week, Al- Arian pleaded guilty to Count Four of the indictment against him -- a charge of conspiracy to make or receive contributions of funds, goods or services to or for the benefit of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The plea hearing was closed over the objections of the government and unsealed today. The guilty plea was accepted by U.S. District Court Judge James S. Moody, Jr. this afternoon. Sentencing was scheduled for May 1.

And when will the leaders of the West wake up to the danger within?

Since two-facedness is both a way of life and a political strategy, there's nothing extraordinary about the countless Muslim leaders who pose as moderates, forswear terrorism, and then do what the Quran commands: "instill terror in the hearts of unbelievers" (8:12). Both Serge Krifkovic (author of "The Sword of the Prophet") and Paul Sperry ("Infiltration") have traced the trajectory of these "moderate" Muslims, as they've gone from "the White House to the Big House." Embraced by American presidents, Sami Al-Arian, Abdurahman M. Alamoudi and Muzammil H. Siddiqi, to name but a few, represent a sample of the crème de la crème of "moderate" Islam in America. The first now awaits trial for heading the U.S branch of Islamic Jihad. The second "pleaded guilty of plotting terrorist acts with Libya." The third is a dyed-in-the-wool radical (or simply true to The Faith), advising Muslims to work to establish Shari'a in the U.S.

More on Sami here.

People keep saying there are moderate Muslims out there that we should listen to and encourage. How do you know which ones to trust? The whole time Sami was playing the moderate, he was raising funds for terrorists and preaching hate to our students.
