Islam - Cartoon Jihad continues

The furore over the Muhammad cartoons may have died out in the streets, for now. But the jihad over their publication continues.

In Germany, a Muslim terrorist online magazine has called on Muslims to take action against Western Reporters.

At the end of the article, the authors formulate a call to violence that may seem roundabout at first, but which is unlikely to be misinterpreted by the online journal's readership. It's not a matter of a single newspaper, the authors write, but rather one "of international significance." The gist of the article is this: Something needs to be done, the prophet must be avenged.

Which is what bin Laden called for in his latest message.

They aren't some young hot heads calling for vengence either.

Ansar al-Sunna is one of the most active terrorist organizations in Iraq. It also has a strong presence in Europe. But Ansar isn't the only group of Islamic jihadists who are stoking the fire of Muslim outrage over the Muhammad cartoons and formulating indirect calls for attacks on the Western media.

bin Laden calls and they answer.

In Germany, one of those Muslims who heeded the call of the magazine, but was arrested before carrying out his threat, hanged himself.

Germany has confirmed that a Pakistani student has died while being held in custody in Berlin.

Amer Cheema, 28, hanged himself while alone in his prison cell, a spokeswoman for the German Justice Ministry said.

Mr Cheema had been accused of threatening the editor of the Die Welt newspaper after it printed cartoons caricaturing the Prophet Muhammad.

To the BBC, Cheema isn't a Muslim terrorists, he's simply a "Pakistani Student".

And in Denmark...

Twelve terrorists are headed to Denmark to assassinate the artists behind the controversial caricatures of the prophet Mohammed published in newspaper Jyllands-Posten.

This claim stems from Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir, newspaper Politiken reports on its web site, citing discussion of the case in Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.
