US - Actress: 9/11 our fault

That's what "...Maggie Gyllenhaal, star of a new flick about the aftermath of 9/11..." says. To rub salt in the wound, she made the comments at a film festival "...launched by actor Robert De Niro in 2002 as a way to help scarred lower Manhattan rebound. "

Here is what she said.

"Because I think America has done reprehensible things and is responsible in some way ..."

What those "reprehensible things" are alleged to have been, we are not told.

I'm curious. Does she think women who dress provocatively, some would say "reprehensible", are "responsible in some way" for being raped? Does she think that people who have gotten rich, some would say in a "reprehenible" way, deserve to be beaten and robbed?

Oh, and don't dare question her patriotism.
