US - "Saudis making progress in cleansing textbooks"

That's according to "John Hanford, the U.S. ambassador at large for international religious freedom."

"We are very pleased with the reforms that King Abdullah and his government have been making," said John Hanford, the U.S. ambassador at large for international religious freedom.

"There still are some repugnant references," and Muslims as well as non-Muslims are among the targets, he said.

It's interesting that neither he nor the AP point out what "repugnant referneces" are left in the textbooks.

Here's what the Washington Post found that's still in the Saudi textbooks. As you read, bear in mind that these same Saudi textbooks are used in Saudi schools around the world, including the US.

First Grade: " Every religion other than Islam is false."

Fifth Grade: "It is forbidden for a Muslim to be a loyal friend to someone who does not believe in God and His Prophet, or someone who fights the religion of Islam."

Eigth Grade: "As cited in Ibn Abbas: The apes are Jews, the people of the Sabbath; while the swine are the Christians, the infidels of the communion of Jesus."

Tenth Grade: The 10th-grade text on jurisprudence teaches that life for non-Muslims (as well as women, and, by implication, slaves) is worth a fraction of that of a "free Muslim male."

These indocrinations are not limited to Saudi Arabia. In the BBC program, "A Question of Leadership" several Muslims confirmed that they were raised along these same lines. In particular, that they were taught very young, at home and in the mosque, not to trust or make friends with the infidels.

We also know from undercover recordings that such things are preached in mosques. The Finsbury Park mosque produced many terrorists and was eventually closed down. The mosque was reopened amid much fanfare and hailed as having been rid of "extremists". Here is what Dr Azzam Tamimi, of the Muslim Association of Britain had to say at the reopening.

"...the plan is to outnumber the extremists to persuade them to stay away.

"For the first few Fridays we will be organising for our members from across London to come and pray here so that we have a strong majority. We will not tolerate anyone who will seek to abuse the mosque," he said.

And yet here are two recent videos of Tamimi praising terrorists and calling for the destruction of Israel.

Still think Islam has been hijacked by extremists?
