US - 30% don't know the year 9/11 took place

With the fifth anniversary of the Muslim terror attack on America, the AFP decided on a curious way to remember the terror attack. They took a poll to see how many Americans could remember the year of the attack. But did the AFP have an agenda when it conducted the poll? I'd say so.

This memory black hole is essentially the problem of the older crowd: 48 percent of those who did not know were between the ages of 55 and 64, and 47 percent were older than 65, according to the poll.

Nearly half were over 65!!! How much older we're not told. Who knows maybe they were in their 90's. The other half were between 55 and 64. What did the AFP do, call up several nursing homes to conduct the poll? Was the poll done before or after they had their medication?

I'm not knocking the elderly or implying that those in the age groups mentioned suffer from memory loss. But it's my understanding that as we age we do lose some memory function.

Now, what were we talking about? Oh, yes, memory loss. Sorry I'm over 50.

I've no doubt that there are probably a number of Americans that can't remember the year of the Muslim terror attack on New York. I've no doubt there are some who don't even know where New York is. Ignorance is bliss they say.

Many would like to forget the events of that horrible day; it's one of the body's defense mechanisms. Hell, there are some that refuse to believe it even happened.

How many Americans can remember the year Pearl Harbour was attacked?

Time heals all wounds as the saying goes.
