US - Chavez clearly listened to Dems and Air America

The Anchoress explains.

The "smart" Democrats, if there is such a thing, are now scrambling to distance themselves from Chavez. Too late.

It's not just Chavez's remarks at the UN that have sparked controversy, it was the reaction of the UN members who laughed and applauded. They were laughing at America and the Democrats know it - so do Americans and they blame the Democrats. Hence Rangel's stunning words.

"You don't come into my country; you don't come into my congressional district and you don't condemn my president," Rep. Charles Rangel, D-New York, scolded Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
