Iran: 560 protests against the regime in September

Hopefully this will continue to grow.

As executions and arrests continued unabated last month – official media reported 20 public hangings and 53 death sentences and stoning verdicts – Iranian people protested against the high cost of living, water shortages, mass redundancies, appalling living conditions and further crackdowns on basic freedoms.

More on stonings here.

Under Shari'a law, a prisoner is buried up to her breast, her hands restrained. Rules also specify the size of the stones which can be thrown so that death is painful and not imminent. Both men and women can be sentenced to die by stoning. In practise, however, an overwhelming number of women receive that penalty.

The Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam had this to say on the subject:

The Cairo Declaration allows stoning as punishment, prohibits Muslims from changing their religion, prohibits usury, does not give women equal rights and divides the world between Muslims and infidels.

That's the left's religion of peace and tolerance for you.
