UK - Guardian's Freeland caught lying

In this Guardian article "fairyland" has this to say:

"So when Blair said that a withdrawal from Iraq or Afghanistan would be "a craven act of surrender", he said it to silence."

Harry's Place didn't think that sounded right and one of their readers sent this link to a recording of the audience applauding after that statement by Blair.

The Guardian was forced to retract Freeland's statement.

So, how much of the rest of Freeland's story did he invent? Indeed, how many Guardian stories are invented?

When I used the spell checker for this post, it suggested "fairyland" for Freeland. I thought it fit and left it in the first instance.
