Here's a breakdown by year and country in the UK. Note the second chart indicates that rates of infection have doubled since 2000. A footnote to that chart says this: "Numbers, particularly for recent years, will rise as further reports are received."
Here's a summary of the worst affected areas.
As of the end of June 2006, there have been 74,367 HIV diagnoses in England, 4,584 in Scotland, 1,173 in Wales and 432 in Northern Ireland.12
London has a higher prevalence of HIV than any other area in the UK; 55% of all UK diagnoses up to the end of June 2006 occurred in the capital.13 South-East London has been particularly affected, with the prevalence of HIV approaching 1% in some boroughs. In 2004, 49% of those accessing treatment and care services in the UK were London residents.14
Outside of London, the areas with the highest prevalence of HIV are Edinburgh, Manchester, the East Midlands and South East England.15
As the parent of a teenage son I'm concerned at the dramatic increase since 2000. Have we become complacent about the danger of AIDS? I've talked to my son many times about the subject but you know how that goes with teenagers. While, thankfully, we live in Scotland which has a much lower rate, we live a 2 hour train journey to Edinburgh.
