US - Democratic Party volunteers hard to come by

And that's a good thing.

HAYWARD — Sitting in the Democratic Party's downtown Hayward storefront, surrounded by empty chairs and silent phones as the weekday turns into night, Shawn Wilson resembles the Maytag repairman.
The loneliest guy in town.

The pep that marked prior Democratic campaigns, including the June primary, has skipped a beat as the Eden Area United Democratic Campaign moves into the final weeks of the fall election season.

"In terms of getting volunteers, it's the worst campaign ever," said Wilson, a Democratic stalwart on leave as Alameda County Supervisor Alice Lai-Bitker's chief of staff.

There all too busy out committing voter fraud.
