UK - Islamic suicide bombers behind 7/7

Wow! That's according to the BBC! That's right, the BBC.

"The terrible events of 7/7 are often described as a wake-up call. Islamic suicide bombers had finally struck in the heart of Britain's capital. "

I guess Andy Tighe, the BBC's Home affairs correspondent, didn't get the memo that you are not suppose to use the phrase.

These two paragraphs caught my attention as well.

"But it was not until our TV screens showed the bleeding, terrified victims of 7/7 emerging from smoke-filled Underground stations that many people appreciated just how vulnerable they had become. "

and

"With fresh horrors now on our screens, one of the police officers leading the current investigation told me a few days ago: "If this isn't a wake-up call, I don't know what is."

What's left out of this BBC article is also worth noting. The BBC fail to mention the foiled attack on 21/7 and the foiled airline bomb attacks that would have killed thousands; some say more than on 9/11.

It's hard to have a wake up call with the likes of the BBC constantly downplaying the Islamist threat. Worse, now the government is bending to the EU and ordering staff not to link terrorism and Islam. Sadly, I fear the UK will not wake up until it has its own 9/11.
