Obama: Surge Succeeded Beyond ‘Wildest Dreams’

Sure, now that we've won.

Last year, just after the surge began, Obama said "Here's what we know. The surge has not worked."

One year later, when we've clearly won, Obama said he would still oppose the surge if he had to do it again. (videos)

Now that the hard work has been done and we've won, Obama is all behind the surge. Talk about a political weather vane.

Perhaps that explains Obama deleting his opposition to the surge from his website.

McCain should seize this statement from Obama:

"“I think that the surge has succeeded in ways that nobody anticipated,” Obama said while refusing to retract his initial opposition to the surge. “I’ve already said it’s succeeded beyond our wildest dreams.”"

Nobody, Senator? You seem to forget that McCain was behind the surge when no one else was. Obviously McCain anticipated the success of the surge.
