A little leery of the "why limit my history to one month" comment...guess he doesn't watch Glenn Beck...though I dare him to find any LIBERAL who feels the same way, you can find millions of conservatives who do. And for your information, Mr. Freeman, whites have been sending that message for about fifty years now, it's blacks who insist on being called black and being treated special.
Now, as to not calling me white or your black...that's about the stupidest thing I've ever heard. That's called ignoring the problem, hoping it will go away. While there is a sophistry in ignoring it away, with no possibility of success, it is simply abuse to try and lead those astray who might believe you, only to be further abused, with further mental anguish over just how wrong we were (AGAIN), how we wanted to help (AGAIN), and how we did what someone who is supposed to be an expert on being black (he is black, after all, no matter what he says, did you hear the way he spoke about MY history?)) has told us to do, only to now be saddled with one more failure, one that is only a failure because we assumed you to be right?
Got a better idea. How about if we just let racism live. It's there as a self-defense mechanism, part of a larger one, actually, and it will leave, according to Darwin, when it's damn good and ready, and not one day before. Any attempts to force it are just causing pain and dissension, and, in my opinion, causing it to hang around much longer than it should have.

Spoken like a true conservative to the first Anonymous comment. I actually liked what Freeman said. I believe that much hoopla keeps being made of being white, black, whatever to the degree that the distinction hangs around much longer than it would otherwise if folks would just let it drift away. We've analyzed and diagnosed, paid homage to and celebrated anti-racism for decades now. Ok. So now let's just move on past it. True there are still some very hateful, racist people in the world. But society at large needn't keep the butter churning if you will. Let the few hateful keep hating in their own backyard - or closet. They're just afraid. The rest of us are ready to move on.
