Britain - Bush Attacked Serbia When Governor

At least that's what Simon Jenkins thinks.

That Blair and Bush should have discussed bombing the Al-Jazeera building in Qatar is hardly surprising. They agreed to bomb the headquarters of Serbian television during the Kosovo war.

Heh, who knew Bush was conducting war operations behind Clinton's back? Damn, Rove is smart.

Iraq - Progress Report

From Congressman Jack Kingston.

And like most reports out of Iraq, he paints a completely different picture than the lying liberal media.

At least one Democrat knows success when he sees it.

I have just returned from my fourth trip to Iraq in the past 17 months and can report real progress there. More work needs to be done, of course, but the Iraqi people are in reach of a watershed transformation from the primitive, killing tyranny of Saddam to modern, self-governing, self-securing nationhood--unless the great American military that has given them and us this unexpected opportunity is prematurely withdrawn.

Progress is visible and practical. In the Kurdish North, there is continuing security and growing prosperity. The primarily Shiite South remains largely free of terrorism, receives much more electric power and other public services than it did under Saddam, and is experiencing greater economic activity. The Sunni triangle, geographically defined by Baghdad to the east, Tikrit to the north and Ramadi to the west, is where most of the terrorist enemy attacks occur. And yet here, too, there is progress.

There are many more cars on the streets, satellite television dishes on the roofs, and literally millions more cell phones in Iraqi hands than before. All of that says the Iraqi economy is growing. And Sunni candidates are actively campaigning for seats in the National Assembly. People are working their way toward a functioning society and economy in the midst of a very brutal, inhumane, sustained terrorist war against the civilian population and the Iraqi and American military there to protect it.

But you wouldn't know any of this thanks to the lying liberal media.

Iraq - Zarqawi Murders Muslim Pilgrims

How much more of this is it going to take for someone to turn Zarqawi in?

A friend of two British Muslim pilgrims shot dead while on pilgrimage in Iraq has spoken of his shock at the deaths.

Husain Mohammedali, 50, and Saifuddin Makai, 39, both from London, were "very close friends" said Shabbir Abidali, a trustee of the mosque they attended.

Britain - BBC Whitwashes Kyoto Failings

To hear the BBC tell the tale, Bush is single handedly wrecking the environment. Thankfully, The Times (UK) helps set the record straight.

Here are some other facts you may be unaware of.

It is often reported that President Bush rejected the Kyoto treaty in 2001. But did you know that the U.S. Senate directed President Clinton to reject the impending treaty in 1997 with the Byrd-Hagel Resolution?

It is often reported in the press that the United States produces 25 percent of the world's industrial greenhouse gases. But did you know that North America consumes more greenhouse gases than it produces?

The fact is that while the North American continent emits about 1.6 billion metric tons of carbon every year, North American carbon sinks actually absorb 1.7 billion tons of atmospheric carbon every year. North America is therefore a net consumer of carbon dioxide. The same is not true of the European nations, who essentially see their emissions cleaned up by North American or other carbon sinks.

And this may surprise you.

One surprise in the figures is that Canada's emission record is far worse than even the United States, where the Bush administration has refused to ratify Kyoto.

Mr. Bramley said the United States is "actually ahead of Canada in just about every area" of environmental policies used to curb emissions. And he said the record of individual states "is far ahead of any province in Canada."

Don't expect to read any of this on the BBC website.

Britain - Islam underpins schools' lessons

The BBC continues its support for the Islzmization of Britain.

Read this BBC article and you'll see why I think all religious schools should be banned.

Music is seen as un-Islamic and there are no subjects you might recognise from a state secondary school curriculum like technology, drama or sociology.

So, exactly how are these girls suppose to fit into British society? Answer: They're not.

Waheeda wants to be an optometrist or a dentist.

She also wants to do a stint working abroad - maybe in Italy.

And there is every chance Al-Islah will provide her with the academic springboard she needs.

Really? And just how is that going to happen since "there are no subjects you might recognise from a state secondary School curriculum"? And Waheeda wants to be an optometrist or a dentist but her Muslim school does not teach technology.

Pressly continues her gushing over this Muslim school.

In spite of its limited resources - there is no science laboratory - in 2005, 13 out of the 27 achieved the equivalent of at least five GCSEs grade A* to C.

But in what subjects? We are not told.

Not only are they not taught sociology, they aren't allowed to socialize.

Some of the girls are veiled and they are all forbidden from talking to passers-by.

The title of the article says it all "Islam underpins schools' lessons".

America - Debunking Myths About Our Soldiers

Here's some more debunking myths about our soldiers spread by the Democrats and aided by the lying liberal media.

According to a comprehensive study of all enlistees for the years 1998-99 and 2003 that The Heritage Foundation just released, the typical recruit in the all-volunteer force is wealthier, more educated and more rural than the average 18- to 24-year-old citizen is. Indeed, for every two recruits coming from the poorest neighborhoods, there are three recruits coming from the richest neighborhoods.

America - Dems Hide Real Iraq Views for Politics

An on air admission.

Ellen Ratner, the short, liberal side of The Long & the Short of It on Fox & Friends Weekend, just let the liberal cat out of the bag. Discussing the Democrats' approach to Iraq withdrawal proposals, Ratner admitted:

"If you got [Dem leaders] in a room off camera everyone agrees, but people are trying to look tough on security so the Democrats can win the House back in 2006."

Jim Pinkerton, the long, conservative side of the equation, pounced on this rare bit of Dem candor:

"Viewers should note that Ellen basically said that Democrats will think one thing and say another."

And 70% of Americans think Democrats are hurting our troops. Let's hope the public make the Dems pay for playing politics with our national security during a time of war - at the ballot box.

Iran Training Chechen Terrorists

The Telegraph reports.

Teams of Chechen fighters are being trained at the Revolutionary Guards' Imam Ali training camp, located close to Tajrish Square in Teheran, according to Western intelligence reports.

In addition to receiving training in the latest terror techniques, the Chechen volunteers undergo ideological and political instruction by hardline Iranian mullahs at Qom.

The disclosure that Iran is training Chechen rebels will not go down well in Moscow, which regards itself as a close ally of the Iranian regime.

Britain - Brit Charities Funding Terrorists

That's the claim in this Independent report.

The charge sheet names two British charities, Human Appeal International and Interpal. Human Appeal is a broadly based fundraising organisation, currently helping victims of the Pakistani earthquake. Interpal describes itself as "a non-political, non-profit-making charity that focuses solely on the provision of relief and development aid to the poor and needy of Palestine". No one was available for comment at its London office yesterday. Other charities mentioned were the French CBST, the Italian ABSPT and the Al-Aqsa Foundation, which operates in Austria, Belgium, Denmark and Sweden.

Iraq - Bruce Willis To Make Pro-War Film

Good for him.

And note this from Willis:

“I am baffled to understand why the things I saw happening in Iraq are not being reported,” he told MSNBC, the American news channel.

He is expected to base the film on the writings of the independent blogger Michael Yon, a former special forces green beret who was embedded with Deuce Four and sent regular dispatches about their heroics.

Yon was at the soldiers’ ball with Willis, who got to know him through his internet war reports on www.michaelyon.blogspot.com. “What he is doing is something the American media and maybe the world media isn’t doing,” the actor said, “and that’s telling the truth about what’s happening in the war in Iraq.”

You got that right Bruce.

France - Fundamentalism in French Workplace

Via LGF

PARIS — Employees set up clandestine prayer areas on the grounds of the Euro Disney resort.

Workers for a cargo firm at Charles de Gaulle airport praise the Sept. 11 attacks.

A Brinks technician is charged with pulling off a million-dollar heist for a Moroccan terrorist group allegedly led by his brother. Female converts to Islam operate a day-care center that authorities eventually shut down because of its religious radicalism.

As France grapples with the rise of Islamic extremism abroad and at home, the line between legitimate religious expression and extremist subversion can be blurry. But a recent study by a think tank here paints a picture of rising fundamentalism in the workplace, ranging from proselytizing to pressure tactics to criminal activities.

In companies such as supermarket chains in immigrant-heavy areas, for instance, militant recruiters cause workplace tensions by imposing fundamentalist ideas on co-workers and pressuring managers to boycott certain products, the study says.

On a more sinister level, the study asserts that Islamic networks are trying to establish a presence in firms involved in sectors such as security, cargo, armored cars, courier services and transportation. Once they gain a foothold, operatives raise funds for militants via theft, embezzlement and robbery, the study alleges.

“Parallel to these sect-like risks, the spread of criminal practices has been detected in the heart of companies [with] two goals: crime using Islam as a pretext; and in addition, local financing of terrorism,” concludes the study by the Center for Intelligence Research in Paris.

America - Democrats Using War For Politics

That's what the majority of Americans think.

Democrats fumed last week at Vice President Cheney's suggestion that criticism of the administration's war policies was itself becoming a hindrance to the war effort. But a new poll indicates most Americans are sympathetic to Cheney's point.

Seventy percent of people surveyed said that criticism of the war by Democratic senators hurts troop morale -- with 44 percent saying morale is hurt "a lot," according to a poll taken by RT Strategies. Even self-identified Democrats agree: 55 percent believe criticism hurts morale, while 21 percent say it helps morale.

The results surely will rankle many Democrats, who argue that it is patriotic and supportive of the troops to call attention to what they believe are deep flaws in President Bush's Iraq strategy. But the survey itself cannot be dismissed as a partisan attack. The RTs in RT Strategies are Thomas Riehle, a Democrat, and Lance Tarrance, a veteran GOP pollster.

Their poll also indicates many Americans are skeptical of Democratic complaints about the war. Just three of 10 adults accept that Democrats are leveling criticism because they believe this will help U.S. efforts in Iraq. A majority believes the motive is really to "gain a partisan political advantage."

How can anyone doubt it? All you have to do is compare what the Democrats said before the war and what they're saying now.

It's worse than you think, as these books prove.

Britain - Journalist: Renouncing Muslim Terrorism "Pathetic"

"Something rather repugnant ...."

Why yes, Yvonne Ridley, I believe you are. Listen to what this former British journalists has to say. I say former because I'm not sure if any British media would hire her now.

While the killing of innocent people is to be condemned without question, there is something rather repugnant about some of those who rush to renounce acts of terrorism.

They rather remind me of trembling slaves all scuttling forth for the approval of the boss class in the hope of receiving a few crumbs from the big man's table ... oh, if only they knew how pathetic they really are.

I was reminded of such a vision just the other day when family members of Jordanian-born Abu Musab al-Zarqawi renounced the terrorist leader after he claimed responsibility for the November 9 bomb attacks on three Amman hotels that killed 61 people.

So, according to Ridley, anyone rushing to renounce Muslim terrorists who murdered 61 innocent Muslims, are "pathetic". Read that again. Sick or what?

The Taleban sure did a good job on her.

Ridley has gone so far over the deep end that even Al Jazeera sacked her.

If you want to let this Muslim terrorist sympathizer know how you feel, you can email her here: mail@yvonneridley.com

Islam - Persecuting Gays

It's not just all other religions that Islam persecutes, they persecute Gays too. Why is the left so in love with this barbaric religion?

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - More than two dozen gay Arab men - arrested at what police called a mass homosexual wedding - could face government-ordered hormone treatments, five years in jail and a lashing, authorities said Saturday.

Where is the Left's outrage over this?

Hollywood limo liberal elites said nary a word when Van Gogh was murdered by Muslims for daring to critizice their abuse of women. And they remain silent while Dutch MP, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, recieves death threats for making a movie about gay Muslims.

In fact, the words Left and Hypocrisy are one and the same.

Compare what the Left were saying about Iraq before the war with what they are saying now.

The Left's hypcrisy is so bad that no less than three books have recently been written about them. You can buy them here:

Iraq - Bombing Kills 4 Iraqi Civilians

What's missing from this Guardian story?

Bombing Kills 4 Iraqi Civilians in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - A car bomb exploded near a two-car convoy carrying foreigners through central Baghdad on Saturday, killing four Iraqi civilians, police said.

Did the car just explode on its own?

There is no mention that Muslim terrorists murdered 4 innocent Iraqi civilians. That appears too much for the AP reporter, HAMID AHMED, to report.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Iraq - Saddam, al-Qaida linked

The Democrats keep calling for an investigation into pre-war intelligence on Iraq. Watch what you wish for.

In 1998, for example, when the Clinton Justice Department indicted bin Laden, the writ read: "In addition, al-Qaida reached an understanding with the Government of Iraq that al-Qaida would not work against that government and that on particular projects, specifically including weapons development, al-Qaida would work cooperatively with the Government of Iraq."

Then in October 2002, George Tenet, the Clinton-appointed CIA director, warned the Senate in similar terms: "We have solid reporting of senior-level contacts between Iraq and al-Qaida going back a decade." Seventy-seven senators apparently agreed — including a majority of Democrats — and cited just that connection a few days later as a cause to go to war against Saddam: " ... Whereas members of al-Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests, including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in Iraq."

Much more here.

Yes, let's have that investigation shall we?

America - Waco Jacko To Become Muslim

and leave America - good.

Does this explain the anti-Semitic comments? American pop star Michael Jackson has officially announced that he has been following the five tenets of Islam and intends to convert to Islam, according to a report on the website of Arab-Israeli newspaper Panorama. [...]

Jackson also noted he intends to soon move all his assets and his studio from the U.S. to Bahrain, and expressed his hope to be rid of various legal troubles and enjoy the kind of freedom he says he does not have in America.

Well, yes, abusing young children is a crime in America and you are not free to do it there.

Now, tell me again, how old was Muhammad's wife, Aisha?

Muhammad was 52 and Aisha was 9 when they married and sexually consummated their marriage. Muhammad followed an Arab custom in marrying a child who had her first menstrual cycle.

You can see why Waco Jaco finds this appealing.

Syria accuses US of launching lethal raids

About time the US started getting tough with Syria.

The charge follows leaks in Washington that the US has already engaged in military raids into Syria and is contemplating launching special forces operations on Syrian soil to eliminate insurgent networks before they reach Iraq.

"No one in the administration has any problem with acting tough on Syria; it is the one thing they all agree on," said Edward Walker, a former US ambassador to Egypt and Israel, who is now head of the Middle East Institute think-tank. "I've heard there have been some cross-border activities, and it certainly makes sense as a warning to Syria that if they don't take care of the problem the US will step up itself."

And Iran better pay attention as well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Israel's story is the story of the West

Charles Moore writes in the Telegraph.

If you had followed the British media, particularly the BBC, with average attention over the past 25 years, you would have concluded that Sharon was an intransigent, murderous, semi-fascist. So you would have been perplexed by his sudden announcement this week that he is to leave the "Right-wing" (favoured Western terminology) Likud party and form a "centrist" party of his own. Suddenly, Sharon becomes visionary, peace-seeking. Little would have prepared you for it.

Which is why I prepared the Case Against the BBC.

But then a different narrative supervened. People called "the Palestinians" began to be mentioned. Once upon a time, the word "Palestinian" had no national meaning; it was simply the description on any passport of a person living in British-mandated Palestine. During the 19 years to 1967 when Jordan governed the West Bank, the people there had no self-rule, and no real name. UN Resolution 242, which calls for Israel to leave territories it occupied in 1967, does not mention Palestinians; it speaks only of "Arab refugees". Palestinian nationality came along, as it were, after the fact, a nationality largely based on grievance.

He finishes with this...

Well, some will say, that is the way it is: Israel has abused power, and is reaping the whirlwind. I don't want to argue today about the rights and wrongs of Israel's actions, though I think, given its difficulties, it stands up better than most before the bar of history. All I want to ask my fellow Europeans is this: are you happy to help direct the world's fury at the only country in the Middle East whose civilisation even remotely resembles yours? And are you sure that the fate of Israel has no bearing on your own? In Iran, the new President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad makes the link. The battle over Palestine, he says, is "the prelude of the battle of Islam with the world of arrogance", the world of the West. He is busy building his country's nuclear bomb.

Britain - BBC sanctions reporter who cried over Arafat

Look where the BBC buried the story on Barbara Plett's sanctioning over her crying for Arafat on the air - the entertainment section!

The BBC governors have upheld part of a complaint against a journalist who said she "started to cry" as a dying Yasser Arafat left the West Bank in 2004.

Her comments "breached the requirements of due impartiality", they ruled.

Barbara Plett was initially cleared by the head of editorial complaints over the From Our Own Correspondent report on Radio 4 but a listener appealed.

By these standards, almost all of the BBC journalist would have to be santioned.

Good on the listener who kept up the pressure and appealed.

Now, if we could just get an independent body to investigate the Case Against the BBC.

"Harsh asylum laws" in Britain?!? What's he talking about?

And how does that square with this:

WHITE people are more likely than ethnic minorities to believe that there has been an increase in racial prejudice over the past five years, according to a Home Office survey.

Britain - Whites perceive rise in racism

Here's a shocker.

WHITE people are more likely than ethnic minorities to believe that there has been an increase in racial prejudice over the past five years, according to a Home Office survey.

Half of white people, but only a third of ethnic minorities, feel that there is more racial prejudice, according to figures published yesterday from Early Findings from the 2005 Home Office Citizenship Survey. Overall, 48 per cent thought that racism had got worse, compared with 43 per cent in 2001. Black people are the least likely to feel that racism has increased. The survey found that 22 per cent held this view, against 20 per cent in 2003 and 25 per cent in 2001.

And they're right.

Britain - Piggy banks 'offend UK Muslims'

I'll add this to the Islamization of Britain list.

British banks are banning piggy banks because they may offend some Muslims.

Halifax and NatWest banks have led the move to scrap the time-honoured symbol of saving from being given to children or used in their advertising, the Daily Express/Daily Star group reports here.

Muslims do not eat pork, as Islamic culture deems the pig to be an impure animal.

Salim Mulla, secretary of the Lancashire Council of Mosques, backed the bank move.

"This is a sensitive issue and I think the banks are simply being courteous to their customers," he said.

So, when are Muslims going to be sensitive towards us?

Remember, you can bring a Koran into Britain but you can't take a Bible into Saudi Arabia.

Iraq - Withdrawal from Iraq ? Here Is the Timetable

And it's been there since the beginning.

Those Democrat politicians in Washington, who had backed the war with as much enthusiasm as George W Bush, are now using the issue of withdrawal as a means of distancing themselves from their initial positions. The Arab reactionaries who shuddered at the thought of a despot being toppled by foreign intervention are now clinging to the withdrawal slogan in the hope of sabotaging the process of democratisation in Iraq. In Europe, professional anti-Americans of all ilks are trying to cover their political nakedness with the “ withdrawal” fig leaf.

The truth, however, is that a timetable has been in place from the first day of the war that ended the Ba’athist tyranny in 2003. In that timetable the coalition’s military presence in Iraq is, as it should be, linked to the programme for the nation’s political reconstruction. In other words the coalition forces are in Iraq to accomplish a precise political task and not to provide the United States or any other foreign power with a forward base in the Middle East.

The grand goal of that task was to take power way from a small clique ld by Saddam Hussein had hand it back to the people of Iraq. The idea was not to impose democracy on Iraq, as some anti-liberation circles claim. The idea was to remove impediments to the democratisation of Iraq. Today the Iraqis are not forced to create a democracy. But they have a chance to do so, if they so wish. The task of the coalition was to provide them wit that chance. And in that sense the Iraq project has been a tremendous success.

Yes it has.

Britain - LibDems: Iran Advanced Democracy

That's what Baroness Nicholson, a LibDem member of the European Parliament, thinks.

So it was particularly astounding to read here that Baroness Nicholson, a LibDem member of the European Parliament, had referred to the Islamic Republic as an advanced form of democracy in the region.

As Potkin Azarmehr points out:

Islamic Republic is in fact a brutal, backward, religious dictatorship. Only Shiite Muslims can stand as candidates in the so-called 'elections', but not all the Shiites; only the ones who accept the state interpretation of Shiite Islam, even then they are still vetted by the unelected Guardian Council before the elections and after the elections, yet despite all this the state used all its apparatus to cheat in the last presidential 'elections' too.

We wrote to all Lib Dem MPs, MEPs and Lords to clarify their position on the Islamic Republic and on Baroness Nicholson’s continuous support for the mullahs. Only Lord Lester distanced himself from Baroness Nicholson. The leader of the Lib Dem MEPs, Chris Davies also replied to us but backed his colleague, Baroness Nicholson. Interestingly he also got Iran and Iraq mixed up in his reply!

And Iran is Continuing It's Purge of Reformers.

Some Democracy.

Britain - "Dis-Uninted Kingdom"

Multiculturalism doesn't work.

Britain has moved in exactly the opposite direction. Soon after the French hijab ban was implemented, a British Muslim teenager brought a successful legal action to win the right to wear in school full Islamic dress from head to toe. She was represented in her court case by Cherie Blair, the barrister wife of the prime minister. And Mrs. Blair's action was typical of the spirit of the Labour-led British ruling class, which has elevated dogmatic multiculturalism into a principle of governance.

McKinstry makes the key point about the limits of multiculturalism -- a point that exposes the doctrine as an ideology, and a fraudulent one at that:

Yet the diversity enthusiasts want to celebrate every culture but their own. In the self-flagellating climate of modern Britain, the nation's traditions are increasingly regarded as reactionary and prejudiced. Britishness has "systematic, largely unspoken racial connotations," declared the government's Commission on the Future of Multi-Ethnic Britain. The commission's report, published in 2000, described the United Kingdom as "a community of communities" and called for British history to be "revised, rethought or jettisoned." The official mood of self-loathing, epitomized by the terror of giving offense to any ethnic group, has become even more pervasive in the last five years. In one typical instance, the English inspector of prisons stated that wardens should not wear badges or tie pins with the red cross of St. George, England's national flag, because this could be "misinterpreted as a racist symbol."
[By Muslims]

Things are far worse than Power Line thinks as I point out in The Islamization of Britain.

Multiculturalism is no longer enough, Britian is on the road to becoming an Islamic state. In fact, some British Muslims are calling for just that.

Muhid is once again under police investigation for the production of his leaflets, which were entitled Islamic State for Britain. There can be no negotiations. The leaflet claims that with 2,000 mosques in the country, countless madrassas, Muslim schools, halal butchers and restaurants, "Britain is already on the verge of becoming an Islamic State."

"The revival of Islamic awareness amongst the Muslims in the UK is at its fastest pace and more and more Muslims and non-Muslims are realising that there can be no negotiations with Islam, no negotiations with the implementation of the Khalafah and the Shari'ah law, it is an absolute inevitable."

Sadly, he may be right since Britain is doing all it can to appease Muslims.

America - "Unhinged: Exposing Liberals Gone Wild"

I would have made the titile gone mad.

David Limbaugh reviews Michelle's new book.

Even with the mountains of evidence and the liberals' self-confessed anti-Bush obsession, it would still be difficult to paint the entirety of the American Left as a few bricks shy of a load. But, as Michelle points out, we're not just talking about a couple hundred mouth-foaming radicals on the Internet. "The scariest part is, these Internet crazies aren't just riding along in the Democrat bus – they're driving it."

And

On one level "Unhinged" is amusing, because it cites case after case of literally unbelievable episodes. But on a far more important level it is quite disturbing because these are not vignettes from Mad magazine, but real-life reports of a movement that has delivered to the inmates the keys to the asylum.

Iraq - Iraqi Army Taking the Lead

About time some in the media started paying attention to the good news in Iraq.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- There seems to be a great deal of ignorance about the details of Iraqi force development and the level of progress that is -- and is not -- being attained. The risk is that rather than understanding that Iraqi forces may be able to achieve enough critical mass to allow major Coalition force reductions in 2006, the present lack of understanding will end in "snatching defeat from the jaws of uncertainty."

You can thank MSM for that "ignorance" and as for the "snatching defeat", that's excatly what the left aided by MSM did in Vietnam.

Key developments include:

-- A continued increase in the number of Iraqi units able to take the lead in combat operations against the insurgency. There are now 88 Iraqi army and special operations battalions conducting combat operations against the enemy -- an increase of nine since the July report. Of the 88 operational units, 36 are assessed as being "in the lead" or fully independent -- a 50 percent increase over units at these levels of readiness in the July report. There are 28 Special Police Force battalions capable of combat operations -- an increase of 13 since the last report.

-- Progress of Iraqi units in assuming responsibility for the battle space. Since the last report, Iraqi forces have taken responsibility for security in several areas of Iraq and now have the lead in one Iraqi province, roughly 87 square miles of Baghdad and over 450 square miles in other provinces.

-- A continued increase in the number of units and individuals trained, equipped, and formed into operational status. More than 87,000 soldiers, sailors, and airmen have now been trained and equipped -- an increase of 10,000 since the last report. A total of 68,800 police have been trained and equipped, an increase of 5,500 since the last reporting period. These work alongside 35,500 other Ministry of Interior forces. Overall, this represents a 12 percent increase in Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior forces trained and equipped for counter-insurgency operations since July 2005.

More and more Iraq is being handed back to the Iraqi people.

Meanwhile, Iraqis are turning on Zarqawi while many of his supporters want to lay down their arms.

Don't expect the terrorists supporting BBC to report any of the good news from Iraq.

America - George Soros Thinks He's God

That's what this sounds like.

"If truth be known, I carried some rather potent messianic fantasies with me from childhood, which I felt I had to control, otherwise they might get me into trouble," [Soros] once wrote. When asked to elaborate on that passage by The Independent, Soros said, "It is a sort of disease when you consider yourself some kind of God, the creator of everything, but I feel comfortable about it now since I began to live it out."

Belgium - How a Town Became a Terror Hub

The Washington Post reports.

With each arrest, investigators uncovered fresh evidence that placed small-town Maaseik at the center of a terrorist network stretching across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. The town had served as a haven for suspects in the Madrid train explosions that killed 191 people in March 2004, for instance, as well as an important meeting place for the GICM's European leadership.

Britain - The Islamization of Britain

I thought I'd use this post to gather up posts on Muslim appeasement and the Islamization of Britain. I'll post it permanently on the left sidebar and update it as new reports come along. Post additional links in the comments section or email me and I'll add them.

As you'll see, the Islamization of Britain encompasses all facets of life. The police, media, politicians, the Royals and all the way up to Number 10, are all involved in the process. Will Britain wake up before it's too late? Not if the BBC has it's way.

As you read these, keep in mind that no one seems to mind Muslim crimes against Christians.

Previous U.K. successes include banning a 100 year old statue of a wild boar, police seizure of porcelain pigs displayed in the window of a private home, and the removal of a sign referring to "pork" at a British pub frequented by butchers.

Britain - First Step to Britishness Is Your Poppy

From Frontpage.

The poppy is a symbol of the terrible loss of life in World War I in the fields of Flanders, where these blood-red flowers sprouted above the acres of corpses of fallen soldiers. As the decades have passed, the poppy has been worn to show one’s respect for the millions who have died in successive conflicts as recent as Iraq and Afghanistan. On British television, every presenter and anchor wears a poppy. In keeping with the motto of the British Legion—“Wear your poppy with pride”—every shopkeeper, publican, hotel manager and cabbie wears a poppy. This year I proudly bought mine at my local doctor’s office.

It was therefore all the more astonishing last week when I took a long walk along Edgware Road, the most densely Muslim section of London, and discovered that not one person was wearing a poppy. This all started because I was accosted on my corner, a few yards form where I have lived for twenty-eight years, by a young Arab man who began to get very aggressive with me. Was I, he demanded to know, “from the Jewish”?

He also wanted to know why I was wearing a poppy. I tried to explain the concept of the Cenotaph and Armistice Day. But he seemed determined to establish that I was a Jewess above all else. No matter how hard I tried, I could not shake him off. I began to get very alarmed. I hailed a taxi and, thankfully, my pursuer, who was by this time shouting, did not get into the taxi. The driver was enormously sympathetic but told me that I had been “asking for it” by walking in what he called “Little Beirut.” He then told me that we were in World War III. His white, working class anger at what he perceived as “the Islamic takeover” of Britain was palpable. He was not the first London cabbie who has told me he would gladly join the far-right British National Party if pushed.

Meanwhile, Britain is full Muslim appeasement mode.

Britain - BBC Enabling Terrorists

What's missing from this BBC report?

A senior Palestinian militant in the West Bank has surrendered to Israeli troops following a day-long siege.

Witnesses said Islamic Jihad member Iyad Abu Rob was arrested after troops began demolishing his hideout in Jenin.

Hundreds of troops entered the city early on Wednesday and surrounded the five-storey residential block.

The BBC are quick to point out that..."A Palestinian was shot dead and others were injured, including some children, during the incursion when Israeli troops opened fire on stone throwers."

But they leave out this:

Soldiers had surrounded a house in Jenin as part of the ongoing clampdown on the Islamic Jihad infrastructure in the city.

Hours later, they uncovered the [bomb making] factory, which was subsequently blown up by security forces.

The troops found mortar shells, large amounts of explosives, components for making explosives, and IDF equipment inside the factory.

Note the IDF equipment.

The BBC also cover for Muslims, lie about covering for Muslim terrorists, fail to report on Muslim calls for Islamic reform, and in fact, the BBC is a terrorist enabling organization which needs to be stopped.

America - Iraq Protesters Fail to Appear

But that doesn't stop AP from thinking it's news.

CRAWFORD, Texas - A dozen war protesters including Daniel Ellsberg, who leaked the Pentagon Papers, were arrested Wednesday for setting up camp near President Bush's ranch in defiance of new local bans on roadside camping and parking.
[...]

A dozen or so other demonstrators left the public right of way after deputies warned them they would be arrested.

And the media's darling wasn't even there.

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan wasn't among the protesters Wednesday because of a family emergency in California, but she planned to be at the camp later in the week.

At least they got her title correct.

Israel - Arabs Ask Jews For Help in Banishing ISM

That would be the International Solidarity Movement, favored on college campuses around America and of Rachel Corrie infamy.

Arab leaders in Hevron have contacted the city’s Jewish leaders for help in getting rid of self-proclaimed anarchist volunteers who, they complain, are destroying their traditional way of life.

The anarchists, many of whom are members of the International Solidarity Movement, flock to flashpoints throughout Judea and Samaria, ostensibly to help PA Arabs contend with IDF closures and protect them from harassment. In actuality, many of the volunteers seek confrontations with IDF soldiers and local Jewish residents, taking advantage of their Western passports to cause havoc – knowing that, at worst, they will be deported, not jailed.

The local Arabs in the Hevron region whom the activists claim to be helping are now complaining that the American and European students behave in a provocative and offensive manner in Hevron’s public areas. The Arabs say the activists disrespect the moral norms and standards of the local population.

Islam - The Great Theft

Western Resistance has a great review of Khaled Abou El Fadl's book on Islam.

Does the traditions of Islam, with their inherited system of beliefs and convictions, contributed to the commission of these acts of ugliness? Are the Muslims who commit acts of terrorism or who persecute women and religious minorities inspired by the doctrines and dogma of the Islamic religion? Stated in a more stark and blatant fashion: Did something go wrong with contemporary Islam, and if so, what? -- Introduction.

Confronted with such negative perceptions of their religion, Muslims have a choice. They could complain and cry about it and grow old in silent bitterness. Alternately, they could decide to teach others about their faith, but this assumes they are sufficiently educated and well informed about their own religion. The problem, however, is that many Muslims are woefully ignorant about their own religion. -- Part One, Chapter One, Islam Torn Between Extremism And Moderation.

I highly recommend Western Resistance as a daily read.

You can buy Fadl's book here:

Finally, we are starting to hear calls for the reformation of Islam - from Muslims. Something that is 1400 years overdue.

UK: Muslim Peer Criticises "Contradictions" Of Islam

This is refreshing.

Alli (pictured) called Islamic clerics "intellectually lazy" and asked for a "radical democratisation of Islam". This was the first time the 41-year old peer has spoken openly about Islam, and he certainly riled one or two people attending the lecture. Alli criticised "Muslim reluctance to tackle contradictions in Islam" and said the religion should be reconciled with the modern world, rather than the values of the 7th century.

He said: "The problem lies in the Quran itself. There are contradictions in Quran; we have to stop avoiding them. If you find the Hadith literally, you can kill and maim as many people you can. If you use Quran as literal text, you can stone a woman who has been raped and in Iran, two boys were hung up for being gay."

Lord Alli is openly gay himself. He continued: "In a Muslim country, I as a gay man, should be able to go to Sharia law for protection, Sharia law should be a source of protection not oppression."

He called for a "Third Way", i.e. a democratisation of Islam. "We have to take individual responsibility for action, collective responsibility for our religion. We are today at a crossroads - modern values in Islam against orthodox values in Islam, this century will be defined by this conflict - conflict of values."

Something I've been calling for for years.

As usual, for fear of upsetting Muslims, The BBC fail to report Lord Alli's speech.

Iraq - booby-trapped toys seized

These are the people the left defend.

Baghdad - The Iraqi army said on Thursday it had seized a number of booby-trapped children's dolls, accusing insurgents of using the explosive-filled toys to target children.

The dolls were found in a car, each one containing a grenade or other explosive, said an army statement.

The government said that two men driving the car had been arrested in the western Baghdad district of Abu Ghraib.

"This is the same type of doll as that handed out on several occasions by US soldiers to children," said government spokesperson Leith Kubba.

Britain - Britain Losing Her sovereignty

The Times (UK) reports.

BRUSSELS unveiled detailed proposals yesterday that would for the first time create a body of pan-European criminal law and force member states to punish citizens who transgress it.

The European Commission listed seven offences that it insisted should become European crimes immediately, including computer hacking, corporate fraud, people-trafficking and marine pollution.

The ruling means that for the first time in legal history, a British government and Parliament will no longer have the sovereign right to decide what constitutes a crime and what the punishment should be.

Iraq - Iraqis 70% in charge of security

More good news from Iraq.

This agreement also acknowledges the larger roll of the Iraqi armed forces are taking. Over 70% of security operations are now done by Iraqi forces; this has grown from just 30%”.

Haider's comments:

Progress in Iraq is quite measurable and noticeable on weekly bases. Security is improving in the last two provinces. Iraqi security forces are taking a much larger roll in the security of their country. Sunni & Baathists are talking about laying down their arms and joining the political process, and some have already done so. All this is possible because of our & the Iraqis hard work sacrifices and tenacity.

And more and more of Iraq is being handed back to the Iraqis.

Meanwhile, Iraqis are turning on Zarqawi while many of his supporters want to lay down their arms.

Next month's elections could be a real turning point.

America - CNN Fires Bush Critic - Audio Tape

Daily Pundit reports.

Here's what's on the audio tape:

In it, a male voice is clearly heard to say that the X overlaid on Vice President Dick Cheney's face during the broadcast of his speech to the American Enterprise Institute on 11-21-05 was an exercise of CNN's "freedom of speech." The unidentified man added, "Tell Bush and Cheney to stop lying," as well as other inflammatory attacks on the President and the Vice President.

Here's the firing:

I just got off the phone with Laurie Goldberg, Senior Vice President for Public Relations with CNN. Her statement confirms the authenticity of the tape recording and reveals the actions CNN took after learning of the incident:

"A Turner switchboard operator was fired today after we were alerted to a conversation the operator had with a caller in which the operator lost his temper and expressed his personal views -- behavior that was totally inappropriate. His comments did not reflect the views of CNN. We are reaching out to the caller and expressing our deep regret to her and apologizing that she did not get the courtesy entitled to her. "

By those standards, quite a few in the BBC, New York Times and many other media outlets should get the boot.

Malaysia - Muslim Prisoner Abuse

When there were accusations of abuse of Muslim prisoners by America, there was worldwide Muslim outrage and the media were all over it. But when Muslims abuse prisoners there's hardly a peep.

The clip, thought to have been filmed on a mobile phone, appears to show the prisoner and a female police officer.

The officer, who wears a Muslim headscarf, stands over the woman who is forced to strip naked, grasp her ears and squat repeatedly while, according to Malaysia's national news agency, a voice in the background recites verses from the Koran.

And hardly anyone says anything about the daily crimes against Christians by Muslims.

Jordan - King Declares War On Terror

Seems Bush isn't the only one declaring war on terror.

AMMAN, Jordan (AP) -- Jordan's King Abdullah II has appointed his national security adviser as the new prime minister, giving him a mandate to launch an all-out war against Islamic militancy in the wake of this month's triple hotel blasts.
[...]

The king called for a "relentless war on all the Takfiri schools, which embrace extremism, backwardness, isolation and darkness and are fed on the ignorance and naivety of simple people."

He said fatwas, or religious edicts, issued by such groups constitute a "threat on the society and its interests."

Good for him.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Britain - More Muslim Appeasement

Will she never learn? The Times (UK) reports on more Muslim appeasement in Britain.

IT WAS the surprise hit of the autumn season, selling out for its entire run and inspiring rave reviews. But now the producers of Tamburlaine the Great have come under fire for censoring Christopher Marlowe’s 1580s masterpiece to avoid upsetting Muslims.

Audiences at the Barbican in London did not see the Koran being burnt, as Marlowe intended, because David Farr, who directed and adapted the classic play, feared that it would inflame passions in the light of the London bombings.

Simon Reade, artistic director of the Bristol Old Vic, said that if they had not altered the original it “would have unnecessarily raised the hackles of a significant proportion of one of the world’s great religions”.

The burning of the Koran was “smoothed over”, he said, so that it became just the destruction of “a load of books” relating to any culture or religion. That made it more powerful, they claimed.

Members of the audience also reported that key references to Muhammad had been dropped, particularly in the passage where Tamburlaine says that he is “not worthy to be worshipped”. In the original Marlowe writes that Muhammad “remains in hell”.

And we all know that, despite all the crimes against Christians by Muslims, we certainly don't want to offend Muslims.

When is Britain going to learn that appeasement equals weakness? It never works and makes things worse.

Iraq - Terrorists Crumbling

Here's more good news from Iraq and more bad news for Zarqawi.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Several insurgents groups have contacted President Jalal Talabani's office in the past few days, with some saying they are ready to lay down their arms and join the political process, the presidential security adviser said Thursday. [...]

``Many groups have called and some of them clearly expressed the readiness to join the political process,'' al-Samaraei said. This shows that ``the initiative was welcomed by Iraqis.''

In the western province of Anbar, members of some militant groups told the AP that they had been in talks with Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Chalabi for about two weeks but would not say how they were going.

On Monday, al-Samaraei told Al-Jazeera television that he received a call from a person who claimed to be a senior official of the resistance who was interested in talks. He would not elaborate.

With elections in about three weeks this is good news indeed and more proof we are winning in Iraq.

America - UN: The Bolton Factor

Just like his boss, President Bush, John Bolton shows what can be accomplished if you stand up to people.

Following intense US pressure, the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday issued an unprecedented condemnation of Monday's Hizbullah attacks on northern Israel.

This condemnation - slamming Hizbullah by name for "acts of hatred" - marked the first time the Security Council has ever reprimanded Hizbullah for cross-border attacks on Israel. The condemnation followed by two days a failed attempt to get a condemnation issued on Monday, the day of the attack, when Algeria came out against any mention of Hizbullah in the statement.

When asked what changed from Monday to Wednesday, one diplomatic official replied: "John Bolton," a reference to the US ambassador to the UN. Bolton lobbied vigorously for the passage of the statement.

You will notice that the BBC fail to report this "unprecedented condemnation" by their beloved UN against Israel's enemy.

Iraq - The Turkey Was Real

As today is Thanksgiving Day in America, I thought I'd remind those that need it, that the Turkey Bush served to our troops in Iraq in 2003 was real.

It amazes me that after all that has been written and after the New York Times published a correction, people keep repeating the lie that Bush served a plastic turkey to US troops in Iraq.

"An article last Sunday about surprises in politics referred incorrectly to the turkey carried by President Bush during his unannounced visit to American troops in Baghdad over Thanksgiving. It was real, not fake.
"

Unlike a lot of media stories that are, sadly, fake.

Britain - BBC Caught Lying Again

The Daily Record notes this:

THE BBC hit back last night after being named as the people behind the weirdest politically correct phrase of the year.

The American Global Language Monitor said the phrase "misguided criminals" - used to describe the July 7 bombers - topped their Politically inCorrect poll.

GLM president Paul Payack said: "The BBC attempt to strip away all emotion by using what it considers 'neutral' descriptions when describing those who carried out the bombings in the London tubes."

But a BBC spokesman said: "We would welcome the full context of Mr Payack's comments, as his assertion that we labelled the July 7 perpetrators 'misguided criminals' appears to be complete nonsense to us They challenged GLM to prove the term had been uttered by one of their news staff.

The phrase is on the BBC's website - in a comment piece by world affairs editor John Simpson on the terror attacks.

I'll take that challenge BBC because I reported on Simpson's outrageous comment 4 days after the Muslim terror attack. Here is what the BBC's own John Simpson said on the BBC's website, which, as you can see is still there, of the Muslim terrorists:

Now that the bombs have exploded, and thousands of newspaper pages and entire days of air time have been devoted to the horror of it all, and to the poor, decent people who are dead and missing, and to the misguided criminals responsible, perhaps we can stand back from it all and catch our breath.

Simspon sounds almost sorry for the terrorists.

There's your proof lying scumbags.

via Right for Scotland.

UPDATE

Just for fun, I used the BBC's own search feature using the phrase "misguided criminals+John Simpson" and found Simpson's article. All the BBC had to do was look.

Britain - BBC Covering For Muslims - Again

In covering for Muslims, the BBC leave out some truly digusting details in this report.

Unlike the BBC, The Telegraph tells it like it is.

A village council in Pakistan has decreed that five young women should be abducted, raped or killed for refusing to honour childhood "marriages".

The BBC isn't the only European media covering for Muslims. The French are at it too.

One of France's leading TV news executives has admitted censoring his coverage of the riots in the country for fear of encouraging support for far-right politicians.

Which is exactly what the BBC is doing.

And if that doesn't work, the media just make stories up out of thin air.

Iraq - 700 terrorists killed since Sept

Excellent.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - U.S. and Iraqi forces have killed more than 700 suspected insurgents in less than two months during operations in western Iraq, the U.S. military said on Wednesday, calling the result "very successful".

Major General Rick Lynch, a spokesman for U.S. forces in Iraq, said that as well as those killed, 1,500 suspects had been detained, including an undisclosed number of foreign fighters, and more than 200 weapons caches discovered.

France - Muslim Appeasement Never Works

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER writes in Time.

On the one side are the protester-arsonists, many if not most of them Muslim, whom the Interior Minister called racaille (rabble)--young, restless, violent, vibrant, angry, jobless, envious and fecund. And on the other side is an aged and exhausted civilization, the hollowed-out core of European Christendom, static, aging, contented, coddled, passive and literally without faith. Who would you think will win in the end? …

France always thought it had one last resort, one ready strategy for fending off the rage of its Arab street: beyond avoidance lay appeasement. No country in the West has done more to cultivate world Arab opinion, to appease Arab terrorists, to ostentatiously oppose American Middle East policy (Iraq above all), to champion the signal Arab cause of Palestine. It was no accident that Yasser Arafat chose Paris as his place to die--Paris, after Jerusalem, his second holiest city.

Paris burns anyway. As the French seem to learn every 70 years, appeasement does not work. It merely whets the appetite. And the angry alien young were already hungry.

When is Britain going to learn?

Iraq - The Pull Out Has Already Started

Seems the Democrats and MSM are unaware the return of Iraq to Iraqis is well underway.

When U.S. forces officially hand over Forward Operating Base Danger to the Iraqi government on Tuesday, it will be the 29th time an American base in Iraq has been relinquished. But, officials said Monday, handing over FOB Danger will be “the most significant transition of real estate thus far.”

It's not just military bases either, entire towns are being turned over to Iraqis.

The failure of MSM to report on the return of Iraq to Iraqis is more evidence of their support for the Democrats. And why doesn't the Administration point this out?

Some have suggested that all Zarqawi has to do is just wait and we'll leave on our own. The answer is, he can't. That would like a victory for us. Zarqawi has to be seen to have pushed us out for it to be a victory for him.

America - Democrats Playing Politics With Security

NRO reports.

Specifically, John Negroponte, the director of National Intelligence — the post created by Congress in the rush to implement the recommendations of the September 11 Commission — appears to be losing patience with the Democrats, led by Michigan Sen. Carl Levin, who are blocking the nomination of Benjamin Powell to be the DNI's general counsel. There is no substantive objection to Powell, nor does anyone believe the director of National Intelligence should not have a chief lawyer. Rather, the Powell nomination appears to be the victim of Democratic anger at the administration over the treatment of suspected terrorist detainees.

And they post Negroponte's letter in full.

Iraq - Security in Kut Handed Over to Iraqis

More good news from Iraq that MSM don't want you to know about.

Iraqi troops are now in full control of Kut(aka Al Kut) as the Ukranian garrison there is preparing to leave the country.

It is the first major city where security is wholly in Iraqi hands. Kut, 160 kilometers south of Baghdad, is a strategic city as it borders Iran and several major provinces in the south, including the capital of Baghdad.

Kut, home to nearly 500,000 people, is the capital of the province of al-Wasit.

The practice of using manure fertilizer is more common in Latin America, which has become a growing source of fresh produce for the United States.

Britain - BBC Caught Lying - Again

I for one am not shocked at the latest BBC lie.

THE BBC was embarrassed last night by e-mails that showed it “invented” a justification for spending £60,000 of licence payers’ money commissioning a Tracey Emin sculpture.

Emin’s Roman Standard sculpture of a bird on a post was bought by the BBC at a time when Mark Thompson, its director-general, was announcing big cost cuts.

Internal e-mails revealed serious doubts within the organisation about spending so much on a sculpture that had no links to the corporation.

An e-mail dated February 22 from senior BBC publicist Janet Morrow to Vanda Rumney, head of communications, gave warning that the commission could create a “sticky situation on the public art front which could blow up”.

Morrow noted that the sculpture “is not connected to a BBC building, nor is it linked in any way to a BBC broadcast or BBC activity — the BBC has purely used licence fee money to create a public sculpture”.

She then said she had “invented” a “plausible line” to justify the commission. Her line, that the BBC should claim it had a long history of commissioning visual art, was later adopted by Alan Yentob, the BBC’s creative director.

More BBC lies here.

After reading the report, why would anyone watch CBS, believe Dan Rather or buy Mapes' book?

Then read more on the media faking it.

Thank god for bloggers, now the left can't lie and get away with it anymore.

World not ready for bio-terror threat

Reuters reports.

"Al Qaeda's global network, its proven capabilities, its deadly history, its desire to do the unthinkable and the evidence collected about its bio-terrorist ambitions, ominously portend a clear and present danger of the highest order."

Ah, don't worry about it. According to the BBC it's just an illusion, a myth.

The most frightening of these is the threat of an international terror network. But just as the dreams were not true, neither are these nightmares.

In a new series, the Power of Nightmares explores how the idea that we are threatened by a hidden and organised terrorist network is an illusion.

It is a myth that has spread unquestioned through politics, the security services and the international media.

Knowing the BBC's reputation for lying, I'll keep my powder dry.
