Iraq - Elections Underway: BBC Gloomy

After noting all the good things associated with Iraq's historic elections, including how it has split the insurgency to the core, the BBC just can't help themselves and try to throw a wet blanket over everything.

It is just possible that this could be the beginning of the process of driving a wedge between hardline insurgents, who will never compromise, and Sunni Muslims who might be brought into the political process. But if it happens at all, it is going to take a very long time.

Really? It's only taken 3 years to liberate the country, hold elections for President, draft their first constitution, elect a parliament and split the insurgents. All of this in an area of the world that has never seen the like before.

Oh well, that's the BBC for you.
