Islam - Censored by the media?

It is by the BBC.

It's nice to see someone as the question and it's nice to see the letter published.

But a more insidious self-censorship is abroad in the major media, which includes the FT: the failure to ask whether Islam, putative "religion of peace", may have a propensity to violence embedded in its very theology.

In the face of serial outrages emanating from the Islamic world over the past 25 years, only the "fringe" press has dared to pose this question. So, why not have your editorial writers try to grapple with the topic, or even assign it to one of your reporters for a weekend feature?

Why not indeed.
