UK - Muslims urged on Christian rights

It's about time these people started to speak out.

The head of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales has called for improved rights for Christians in Muslim countries.

Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor told the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies they should have the same freedoms as Muslims in countries such as Britain.

And there may be more on the way.

BBC religious affairs correspondent Robert Piggott said Cardinal Murphy-O'Connor's comments come as church leaders start to speak robustly about the treatment of Christian minorities in some Muslim countries.

Why isn't the left speaking out against Islam's treatment of gays? Why isn't the women's movement speaking out aginst Islam's treatment of women?
