Afghanistan - 'Forty Taleban' killed in attack

Why the scare quotes around 'Forty Taleban' in this BBC report? Maybe it was a plumbers convention.

US-led coalition forces say they have killed about 40 Taleban fighters in an attack on a compound in southern Afghanistan.

Some 50 Taleban fighters were said to have been holding a meeting in the compound in Uruzgan province which was being monitored by the US-led forces.

Separately, two coalition soldiers were killed when their vehicle was blown up in the eastern Kunar province.

Fighting has intensified in Afghanistan in the past two months.

Hundreds of suspected Taleban fighters and militants have been killed, mainly in the south and east.

What the BBC doesn't tell you is why the fighting has intensified. As more and more of the country is secured, coalition forces are now cleaning out remaining areas where the Taleban were mainly in control.
