UK - Still in denial one year after 7/7

I was watching Sky News this morning and they had someone on reviewing today's newspaper headlines. I didn't catch who he was but what he said, unchallenged by the hosts, shows Britain still doesn't understand the threat.

Talking about yesterday's rememberance services and recalling the aftermath of the Muslim terror attacks, he said initially everyone lived in fear that there would be a string of such attacks. But as that didn't happen life has pretty much returned to normal.

What he and the presenters seem to have forgotten is the failed attack on 21/7, 3 other uncovered plots, 70 ongoing terror investigations, over 40 arrested and the more than 8,000 al Qaeda sympathisers here in the UK.

There hasn't been a "string" of such attacks because the security services have been doing an outsanding job of preventing them.
