Iran - Russian Jet crashes; BBC blames US

The BBC report on the recent jet crash in Iran.

A passenger plane has skidded off a runway and burst into flames in Iran's north-eastern city of Mashhad, killing 29 of those aboard.

Early Iranian TV reports had put the death toll at 80 for the Russian-built jet carrying at least 148 people from the southern port city of Bandar Abbas.

The fire began when the Tu-154 left the runway on landing at 1345 (1015 GMT), possibly because of a burst tyre.

Despite the fact that the plane is Russian doesn't stop the BBC from blaiming America.

Iran has a terrible record of airline safety, our correspondent says.

One reason for this is US sanctions, which prevent the Iranian government from buying spare parts for its ageing fleet or purchasing new aircraft from major aviation companies in the West, she adds.

Tell me again what the cause of the crash was? "...possibly because of a burst tyre."

So, the US embargo on spare parts was the cause of a burst tyre on a Russian plane? Only in the BBC's anti-American mind.

Someone tell the BBC that Russia is not in the West and that all the world's ills are not America's fault.

Even pilots around the world notice the BBC's ignorance and anti-American agenda.

UPDATE

It seems everytime there's a crash like this, the BBC blames America.

UPDATE

I forgot that I posted that The BBC's Tehran correspondent, Frances Harrison, is a Muslim and married to an Iranian. Perhaps that explains why all the planes that crash in Iran are America's fault.
