UK - BBC whitewashing al Qaeda update

I recently posted about the BBC's Peter Taylor and his program "al Qaeda: A time to talk?".

Archduke at Biased BBC posts a link to an audio interview with Taylor on BBC radio 4.

"did anyone catch Peter Taylor on Radio 4 "today" this morning.

it was quite obvious that Jim Naughtie, via lots of spluttering and questions that went on for miles, that Naughtie wants us to talk to a Al Qaeda.

But Taylor swatted him away - and even corrected him in his assumptions.it would appear that the BBC was advertising Taylor's documetnary as "time to talk" , when in fact , the vast bulk of the docu was nothing to do with talking - that idea came right near the end. in fact, Taylor merely said on Radio 4 , that it was just one idea, that might be floated...here's the realaudio link:http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/ toda...or_20060904.ram

its quite interesting hearing Taylor refusing to join into the Naughtie led beeboid mindset...i respect the guy even more now, after hearing that."

Listen to the audio clip and read my earlier post. For me, the mere fact that Taylor suggests that talking to al Qaeda is an option, tells me he wasted his year investigating them. Further, his BBC article was a tirade against US foreign policy which is not the heart of the problem - Islam is.

I didn't catch Taylor's program so I can't comment on it. But my earlier post is pretty clear.
