But Cllr David Munkley (Lib: Haymill), commissioner for education, welcomed the news that the school is to go ahead.
He said: "It is only right that the Muslim community should have the benefits that the other communities in Slough have been granted.
"They are the only major group in the town without their own school."
Why should groups have their own schools? If we want integration, surely no one should have "their own school".
