Read the report, note the seriousness of the offenses, note how Ofcom backpedal and then fine them 30,000 pounds. Why would they do that? Why would Ofcom, after acting on complaints by the public and finding the channel guilty of serious bias, let them off with a slap? Here's why. Richard Eyre, a former deputy chief executive of BBC News, is the head of Ofcom. Ofcom had to be seen to be doing its job but at the same time went easy on the Islamic channel.
This demonstrates how deeply involved the BBC is in promoting Islam.
"Mohammad Sarafraz, head of the new channel, said most of Press TV's 30 journalists were non-Iranians, and included many Britons as well as Americans. The channel will have correspondents in London, New York, Washington, Beirut, Damascus, Moscow and several other European capitals, as well as three correspondents covering the Israel-Palestine conflict from Gaza, Ramallah and Jerusalem. Mr Sarafraz said training had been provided by a BBC employee."
Press TV is the state run Iranian English speaking propaganda channel.
This isn't the first time the BBC has been involved in setting up an Islamic propaganda "news" orgainzation. Ex BBC employees set up al Jazeera and eight years later the BBC hired the editor and chief of al Jazeera to train its editors. All of which helps explain the fabrications and bias at the BBC.
