Be wary of Muslims bearing gifts

Take Ali Eteraz's gift here for example.

"Sheikh Abdul Hakim Murad is perhaps the most significant British Muslim leader around. It is too bad that so few people know about him. Now that he has launched the Cambridge Muslim College, which is designed to train "local" specialists in Islamic knowledge who are able to "celebrate their identity" as British and Muslim, he should be given his due and treated like a national asset."

High praise indeed. I'm not familiar with his work and in fact, this is the first I've heard of him. Perhaps he does good work but if this is an indication of his thinking, there may be cause for concern. Speaking of Iran's Ahmedinejad, Murad had this to say:

"God's love and generosity ensures that anyone, however unpromising, can be a saviour, at least at times. Even eccentric Iranian presidents can have a go."

So to Murad, Ahmedinejad is "eccentric" and can be a "saviour". This is the same Ahmedinejad who vows to wipe Israel off the map and exterminate all Jews.

Perhaps this explains Eteraz's love of Murad. Or could it be the fact that Murad is in fact Timothy Winter a Western convert to Islam? Leaving this aside what to make of Eteraz himself?

On bin Laden Eteraz has this to say: "That is when untutored demagogues like Bin Laden and Bakri Muhammad strike."

If only bin Laden had been trained by Murad 9/11 wouldn't have happened!

Eteraz goes on to allege Murad condemned the 9/11 Muslim terrorists.

"Murad remained true to his message after 9/11. "Terrorists are not Muslims," he wrote shortly after the attacks. His condemnation of the hijackers was immediate and loud – and he was perhaps alone among the Islamic intellegentsia in arguing that the hijackers be excommunicated."

Follow the link and read what Murad actually said.

"Why is there so much hatred of the United States, and so much yearning to poke it in the eye? Are the architects of policy sane in their certainty that America can enrage large numbers of people, but contain that rage forever through satellite technology and intrepid double-agents? Businessmen and bankers will now start to read carefully enough to discern that it is not US national interest, but the power of the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee, that tends to drive Washington’s policy in the world’s greatest troublespot."

Starting to see through the wolf in sheeps clothing yet? You see, 9/11 was America's fault and more particularly American Jews fault.

Eteraz goes on to note how Murad condemns attacks on Jews. Really? Here's a letter by Murad that Eteraz offers as proof of Murad's defense of Jews.

"The ongoing killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza by Israeli forces has angered us all.

However, this does not, and cannot, justify attacks on our fellow citizens of Jewish faith and background here in Britain.

Most Muslims are completely against such behaviour. However, we call on all Muslims to continue to remain vigilant against attempts to bring our own faith and community into disrepute. British Jews should not be held responsible for the actions of the Israeli government."

Apparently Israeli Jews are fair game but not British Jews. In other words, don't draw attention to us here while we're busy converting Britain to Islam.

Eteraz's love of Murad tells us a lot about Eteraz but so too do Eteraz's own words.

"Instead, quite absurdly, young Muslims are encouraged to emulate non-Muslims and rightwing hacks."

According to Eteraz it is absurd for young Muslims to emulate non-Muslims such as Barack Obama. Or is he saying that all non-Muslims are equal to "rightwing hacks".

I'm all for and end to radical Islam and Muslim terrorists. I'm all against the spread of Islam and those who use Islam as an excuse to attack Jews and blame them for all the evils of the world. And I'm always wary of Muslims bearing gifts.
