Doctors' deadly language barrier: Failure to ensure GPs can speak English properly has cost lives, MPs told

Gee, you think?

Patients have died because ministers failed to ensure foreign doctors working out-of-hours shifts can speak English properly, MPs said last night.

It was wrong that Britain was sticking rigidly to EU rules which outlaw checks on overseas GPs' language skills - while France flouted them, said the MPs in a damning report.

You's think this would be a no brainer but not in the land of the EU.
