Muslim Council of Britain letter to mosques

Signed by

Iqbal AKM Sacranie
Secretary General
The Muslim Council of Britain

Following the criminal terrorist attack on the Madrid trains, and despite our immediate, public and unequivocal condemnation of those atrocities some, however, continue to associate Islam with terrorism by using such misleading terms as 'Islamic terrorist'. (my emphasis)

Sorry, Mr Sacranie, but we remember vividly many of your Muslim brothers dancing and clebrating after 9/11. As far as condeming "publicly" the Madrid bombings or any other bombings for that matter, I haven't seen any such condemnations. You are just not doing enough to renounce terrorism and it's leaders such as bin Laden and the rest. You have to do it specificly, by name, on TV, Radio and in the press. That is my definition of publicly.

Misleading terms such as "Islamic terrorist" - what is misleading about it? Mr Sacranie, we call a spade a spade; the time for political correctness is over. We are at war with Islamic terrorists! If you and the Muslim community are with us against these Islamic terrorist then speak out publicly.

We therefore urge you to take the following actions:

Not good enough. We therefore demand, instruct, order...or similar word is needed.

To proactively engage with the media in order to refute any misconception about Islam and the Muslim community

Yes that is what you need to do. The very next Islamic terrorist attack, and there will be one, go on national TV and condem, by name, the culprits.

To develop active contacts with other faith communities and civic organisations in order to help maintain social peace and good community relations

Can we be more specific here Mr. Sacranie. Can we say Christians, Jews or any other faith? I think not because, and feel free to correct me, doesn't Islam require you to convert us infedels?

We also urge you to convey the above message in your Friday sermon and bring awareness to our community of our duties and obligations in combating any threat to peace and stability.

Urge - there's that word again. As far as Friday sermons go, I've read some of them from around the world (I don't have the links handy but I'll try and find them) and as the saying goes "they ain't pretty". Full of hate and anti-west comments. I use anti-west Mr. Sacranie because anti-American implies that that is the goal of these terrorist - to bring down America. The truth, as bin Laden and all the Islamic terrorist have stated, is to bring an end to the western world.

There is no need however to be daunted or intimidated by any Islamophobic propaganda and we should continue with our daily lives - normally and in accordance with the tenets of Islam.

Mr. Sacranie, review all the terrorist bombings around the world in the last few years. Who carried out and claimed responsibility for them? That's right, Islamic terrorist. There is no Islamophobic propaganda. We know who is responsible. The Telegraph may have jumped the gun on this one. We will have to wait and see. The Muslim communities silence only adds to the problem.

The Muslim Council of Britain is planning to organise a number of events and meetings of which we shall keep you duly informed.

We will watch out for these and see what is said and done. I'll make a small wager that most of what will be said will not speak out against Al-Qaeda, bin Laden or any other Islamic terrorist. Most of the speeches will be anti-American, anti-Blair, anti-Bush and blame current problems in the UK on the UK's involvement in Iraq. All of which is to divide the west and try to hide the true agenda of Islamic terrorist; which is to replace all western governments with fundamental Islamic governments.

So, Mr. Sacranie, prove me wrong on any and all accounts. I "urge" you to.
