POOR HANOI JANE from Oh, That Liberal Media

Aww. Poor Jane Fonda is "stung" by her portrayal as a "traitor" during the Vietnam War, as Edward Kenney of the Wilmington (Delaware) News Journal reports.

"It was a lie, and it continues to this day on the Internet and in snail mail," she said of her portrayal.
A "lie?" Didn't she go to North Vietnam and sit on an anti-aircraft gun among other activities? Why is viewing this as "treasonous" not legitimate?

and

Amazingly, too, Kenney writes that "And for much of her adult life, she has been branded as an outspoken liberal activist."

"Branded"? It's terminology like this that goes directly to what Bernard Goldberg argues in his books Bias and Arrogance. Isn't this exactly what Fonda is -- "an outspoken liberal activist"? By inserting the term "branded," Kenney makes her out to be some sympathetic figure who's been unfairly "maligned" by (obviously) reactionary conservatives.

Good article and puts and end the argument over the doctored photograph of her and Kerry at an anti-war rally. There is a fake one but there is also a real one.
