Islam - New start for 'extremist' mosque

The BBC reports on the re-opening of Finsbury Park mosque and boldly makes this claim: "Finsbury Park Mosque has made a fresh start. "

Why is the BBC so sure?

The new trustees, co-ordinated by the Muslim Association of Britain, had seized the mosque last Saturday, reclaiming it for the mainstream Muslim community in north London.

Sorry fellas if I sound a bit skeptical but it's hard not to be when Iqbal Sacranie, general secretary of the MCB, makes statements like this:

'There is no such thing as an Islamic terrorist. This is deeply offensive. Saying Muslims are terrorists would be covered by this provision'.

Tell that to all the bin Ladens and bin Laden wannabes.

Hamas link to London mosque

A MUSLIM leader appointed to help to run the recently reopened Finsbury Park mosque in north London is a former military commander of Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist organisation. Mohammed Kassem Sawalha is one of five trustees appointed to give the mosque a fresh start.

Nice to see the Times properly identify Hamas as "the Palestinian terrorist organisation".
