US - Public ok with NSA wiretaps

Ever notice how just about everything the Democrats do backfires on them?

Take their complaint that Bush never let the Democrats vote on whether we should keep troops in Iraq or bring them home. Bush called their bluff and held two votes and the Democrats were forced to vote to keep the troops in twice.

Then there were the calls for impeachment. Bring it on said the Republicans and the Democrats backed down. Pelosi even went so far the other day to say that impeachment wasn't even on the table.

Next, the Democrats had one of their CIA moles, Mary McCarthy leak a "story" about black CIA prisons in Eruope. Two seperate investigations found no evidence such prisons ever existed. The Democrats wound up hurting American interests abroad and their mole was outed.

Now, they have another Democratic mole leak details about an NSA program which has been in the media for years. Instead of a scandal the public backs the program by 2-1! And once again it's the Democrats looking weak on defense and another one of their moles will be exposed.

In addition, the left wing media are once again left with egg on their face for trumpeting another failed Democrat smear campaign.

May 12, 2006 — Americans by nearly a 2-1 ratio call the surveillance of telephone records an acceptable way for the federal government to investigate possible terrorist threats, expressing broad unconcern even if their own calling patterns are scrutinized.

Lending support to the administration's defense of its anti-terrorism intelligence efforts, 63 percent in this ABC News/Washington Post poll say the secret program, disclosed Thursday by USA Today, is justified, while far fewer, 35 percent, call it unjustified.

Tony Snow ought to rub this in the left wing media's face at the next press briefing.
