Denmark - Muslim on trial for promoting terrorism

IHT reports.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark: A Moroccan-born Dane went on trial Tuesday on charges of promoting terrorism by calling for a holy war against the West on scores of CDs, computer discs and video tapes found at his home.

Said Mansour, 46, was arrested in September 2005 in Copenhagen. He repeatedly has denied the charges.

His lawyer has acknowledged that Mansour possessed a large archive of material, but has said he did not distribute it.

Police seized some 3,000 CD-ROMs and roughly 500 computer disks in the investigation.
