Iraq - Saddam, the atom bomb and al Qaeda

Damn! Looks like all those Democrats that admitted Iraq had WMD were right after all.

Double Damn! Looks like the BBC was right as well.

Along with 1.77 tons of enriched uranium, about 1,000 "highly radioactive sources" were also removed [from Iraq].

But this is what really stands out from that BBC report:

"Bryan Wilkes said much of the material was "in powdered form, which is easily dispersed".

All this helps explain why Joe Wilson lied about Iraqs attempts to buy uranium from Africa. Iraq's attempts to buy the uranium were backed up by the Senate Intelligence report and the UK's Lord Butler report.

499. We conclude that, on the basis of the intelligence assessments at the time, covering both Niger and the Democratic Republic of Congo, the statements on Iraqi attempts to buy uranium from Africa in the Government’s dossier, and by the Prime Minister in the House of Commons, were well-founded.

By extension, we conclude also that the statement in President Bush’s State of the Union Address of 28 January 2003 that: The British Government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa, was well-founded.

All of which led the Washington Post to issue this:

"Mr. Wilson was the one guilty of twisting the truth. In fact, his report supported the conclusion that Iraq had sought uranium."

Wilson lied, the truth died.

What makes all this the more worrying, is Senator Hillary Clinton's admission that Saddam harboured al Qaeda. Here is what Clinton said on the floor of the Senate.

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001."

According to all these Democrats, Saddam had WMD, was one year away from a nuclear bomb and was giving sanctuary to al Qaeda.

Let's listen to John Kerry's admission that Iraq had WMD.



Now, lets listen to Nancy Pelosi make the same admission.

I'll say it again. Danm! The Democrats have sure convinced me that Saddam had WMD and was harbouring al Qaeda.

Senate Minority leader, Harry Reid, was asked what the Democrats had done in the face of all these revelations. Reid replied:



And the NSA wiretap program and the SWIFT banking program.

Erm, just whose side are the Democrats on?
