The BBC does disclose that he is a Muslim in a curious way.
A Muslim convert planned to detonate a dirty bomb and launch an attack on London's Tube, a court has heard.
Former Hindu Dhiren Barot, 34, from London, planned "massive explosions" in a synchronised attack in the US and UK.
It's a minor point but is the BBC somehow trying to downplay Barot's "muslimness"? I mean is a "Muslim convert" or a "former Hindu" somehow less of a Muslim? It's like the BBC is trying to say in a subtle way, that true Muslims would never do such a thing and therefore Barot must have been indoctronated into a militant sect and not true Islam.
The BBC rarely mention the word Muslim in a story about Muslim terrorists even though it's central to the story. So why is the BBC going out of their way to point out that Barot is a "convert" and "former Hindu"?
