So, what happens when the US tries to get help to make security better?

But the meeting was dominated by Iraq and the Bush administration's efforts to secure more international help for the interim Iraqi government. Bush's hopes of winning NATO involvement, foreign troops and debt relief for Iraq were thwarted at various points this week by France, Germany and Turkey.

Now that America has borne the brunt of the Iraqi war and continues to provide the most funds to rebuild Iraq the axis of weasels still will not help the Iraqi people.

How does this play out against the backdrop of calls for more UN involvement in Iraq? I mean isn't Iraq in the UN along with France and Germany? So what is the point of joining this "elite club" if the members refuse to help one of their own?
