Katrina - More Horror Stories in Doubt

While the Guardian (UK) cast doubt on the rape and murder stories in the Superdome, civil rights activist, Randal Robinson, retracts his outlandish report that "... that black hurricane victims in New Orleans have begun eating corpses to survive."

RETRACTION: The claim in the first sentence in my post was incorrect. I had been told this was happening, but these claims have turned out to be unsubstantiated. I therefore retract them -- but stand behind everything else I wrote without reservation.

Hard to understand that last sentence, given that the rest of the woman's complaints seem to based on the lie. Hard to understand that is until you realize that Randal is black and is shamelessly playing the race card.

One has to wonder why Randal doesn't condemn New Orleans mayor, Rag Nagin, for his failure to use the city's school and transport buses to evacuate poor blacks who lacked their own transport. One wonders until you realize that Nagin, like Randal, is black.

African-Americans like Randal, Jackson and others have well over played their hand this time - and their having to eat their words.
