Still, it's nice to see Muslims accepting responsibility for where action needs to be taken. It's also nice to see an article on the BBC not blaming non-Muslims for all the problems.
Some things that are missing stand out for me.
Nowhere is the issue of Islamic reformation mentioned. Without that, Islam's intolerance to all other religions, gays and the persecution of women will continue. If memory serves me there are about 12-14 so called "honour" murders in the UK each year. Unless Islam and the Koran are reformed, Islamists will continue to use them to recruit more Muslim terrorists. For this is the true root cause of Islamic terrorism. This isn't about Afghanistan or Iraq. Muslim terrorism has been around long before those two. 9/11 came before those two and there were many more Muslim terror attacks before 9/11.
Also notice that al Qaeda is not mentioned. This dispite two video tapes from al Qaeda and other evidence linking the terror attacks to al Qaeda.
While some Muslims seem to be starting to understand the problem better, London's mayor is living on another planet.
The security services prevented another Muslim terror attack on 21/7, 3 more since then, there are over 70 investigations underway, 40 arrested, 1,200 terrorists and 8,000 al Qaeda sympathisers are here in the UK. This article points out that Muslims themselves as well as the security services say another attack is inevitable. Yet to hear London's mayor tell it everything is just fine and we're all just one big happy family. Red Ken had this to say.
"London's response to its greatest test since World War II showed the finest features of our city."
It was Britain's appeasement of Hitler that led to that great test of World War II. Britain's response to that test is far different than its response to 7/7. After the failed attempt to fly a plane into Parliament on 9/11, Britain responded with appeasement. The results are both disasterous and plain to see on 7/7. This time, Britain has responded with more appeasement. The results are that another attack is inevitable. How many attacks will it take to wake Britain up?
