US - Politics: Whose digging up dirt?

The Washington Post and MSNBC made a big deal out of their claim that the Republicans were going to spend millions this election year digging up dirt on the Democrats. It wasn't until the 11th paragraph that you were told what the "dirt" was:

Republicans plan to attack Democratic candidates over their voting records, business dealings, and legal tussles, the GOP officials said.

All available via public records.

So, it's revealing when the Democrats are caught actually trying to dig up dirt, that the left wing media is largely silent. Michelle reports on California's "Tapegate".

Which prompted this email from her readers:

So the Dems are against phone tapping and bank transaction surveillance of suspected terrorists but it’s OK to hack the Governor of California’s web site?
