US - YouTube, Google, and the Liberal Bias Virus

The left wing virus has not only infected traditional media, it has now infected YouTube and Google.

Five months ago, the Internet’s top search engine Google was accused of banning conservative websites from its news crawl. Last week, the e-behemoth offered to purchase YouTube, the preeminent provider of videos over the Web that has recently been implicated in censorship of its own. With their pending merger, serious questions arise about the future of the most powerful telecommunications medium on the landscape, and who if anyone is trying to control its content.

I like the idea of setting up a conservative video sharing internet site.

US - Muslims urged to leave US before attack

That's according to this report.

Urgent news from Peshawar. The head of the Islamabad-based Al-Quds Media Center has received a message from a senior Taliban leader who calls upon all Muslims living in the United States to leave the country as soon as possible "because God's punishment will fall upon America in the month of Ramadan."

Jamal Ismail, a senior journalist at Al-Quds, received the call Thursday from Mulla Masoom Afghani. "Afghani said he was speaking from somewhere in the Kandahar province," Ismail said. "He read the message in Arabic, which I recorded. In it he advised Muslim residents of America to get out to escape harm because the United States could face big attacks in the month of Ramadan."

Ramadan ends on Oct 22 or 23 depending on where you live.

Indonesia: One In Ten Muslims Support Violent Jihad

That's about 18 million Muslims.

Indonesia, with 220 million people, has the largest population of Muslims in any nation. It has 187 million Muslims, 85% of the total demographic. A survey was released yesterday, carried out by the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI).

In a statement, the report's authors state: "Jihad that has been understood partially and practised with violence is justified by around one in 10 Indonesian Muslims. They approved the bombings conducted...in Bali with the excuse of defending Islam."

Afghan, Coalition force destroy terrorist IED compound

Another one bites the dust.

KABUL, Afghanistan – An Afghan and Coalition force encountered resistance and destroyed a known IED cell within a compound, killing three terrorists and destroying the compound with precision air strikes early this morning near the village of Zakur in Ghazni Province.

The compound housed improvised explosive device facilitators.

Iraq - School Opening in Kirkuk

Some good news from Iraq.

KIRKUK, Iraq – Two schools reopened here Thursday after being renovated as part of a program in which they will serve as models for other schools in the area.

Musalla Secondary School students proudly hung their country and school flags on the newly painted walls of their refurbished school in preparation for a ceremony attended by local officials.

The secondary school and a city elementary school are the first of six to be renovated as part of the program.

UK - BBC covering for Muslims - again

The BBC once again gives cover to Muslims.

More than 1,500 police had to be deployed in Sydney last year to end the fighting.

The clashes began when mobs of white youths attacked people of Arabic and Mediterranean appearance on Cronulla Beach, apparently in revenge for an attack on two lifeguards.

What the BBC doesn't want you to know is that, the lifeguards were attacked after they tried to prevent Muslim men from harassing non Muslim women in bathing suits.

UK - BBC blackmails the government

The Guardian reports.

Well, you get the picture, and if you don't then you might be surprised about what goes on in media policy circles these days. Last week Mark Thompson gave dire warning that a licence fee settlement of less than 1.8% above inflation for the BBC would mean no relocation of BBC children's, sport and new media to Salford and, potentially, a drawn-out, incomplete digital switchover. It was a magnificent piece of political blackmail.

The BBC should be cut loose to fend for itself in the free market - that would certainly finish it off.

UK - Why the Muslim veil is unacceptable

Melanie Phillips explains.

Those who defend the Muslim veil are grossly misreading the situation. It is not some picturesque religious garment equivalent to the often curious attire worn by members of other religions.

It is associated instead with the most extreme version of Islam, which holds that Islamic values must take precedence over the secular state. Only a small minority of British Muslim women choose to wear this veil.

But unlike other religious attire, it is thus inherently separatist and perceived by some as intimidatory. That is why it is unacceptable.

Even Egypt's religion minister says the veil is not a religious symbol. And Tunisia has banned it.

Melanie ends with this warning.

The most grotesque example of all, however, is surely the proposal to build the largest mosque in Europe on the site of the Olympic village in east London. The most prominent landmark on the Olympic site, it is intended to symbolise Islamic power in Britain.

Worse still, it is being funded by the Tablighi Jamaat, said by French intelligence and the FBI to be the most significant recruiters for Al Qaeda in Europe.

And to cap it all, within a mile of the site, the largest church in Europe - the Kingsway International Christian Centre - has been compulsorily purchased and is about to come down.

What greater symbol can there be of the retreat of Christianity and its replacement by militant Islam? This is why the argument over the place of the veil and the cross in public life is so significant.

This is not about prejudice or discrimination. It is about cultural survival.

Which is why we should protest the building of this mosque until Muslims allow churches to built in Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia.

US - Lawyer Is Due for Sentencing in Terror Case

Despite her conviction on terrorism charges, The New York Times comes to her defense.

Today, 20 months after she was convicted on terror charges, Ms. Stewart and two co-defendants who were convicted of conspiring with her will be sentenced in Federal District Court in Manhattan. Prosecutors, arguing that Ms. Stewart repeatedly flouted the law to aid the violent designs of an imprisoned terrorist client, have asked Judge John G. Koeltl to condemn her to 30 years in prison.

"Arguing"? She's been convicted already. The sympathy continues.

That would be a life sentence for Ms. Stewart, who turned 67 last week.

Cry me a river. She should have thought about that before she aided terrorists. The Times blubbering goes on.

Her dread of prison deepened unexpectedly, Ms. Stewart said, during the long period after a jury found her guilty on Feb. 10, 2005, of providing material aid to terrorism. She has recently recovered from breast cancer, but fears it will return in prison.

Now prison causes breast cancer?

And if the judge comes down hard, she could be held in solitary confinement with limited visits, the same conditions as Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, the terrorist she was convicted of aiding.

As she should be.

I feel very threatened by it,” Ms. Stewart said. “I know too much about the way they deal with you in prison.”

Boo, freeking hoo. We are threatened by Muslim terrorists and those who aid them like Ms. Stewart.

UK - Stop the proposed 'Olympics mega-mosque'

If Christians can't build churches in Muslim countries, Muslims shouldn't be allowed to build mosques here.

Cllr Alan Craig, leader of the Christian Peoples Alliance group on Newham Council, will renew his call for an independent government enquiry into the proposed 'Olympics mega-mosque' at West Ham in Newham, east London, during a meeting at the House of Commons today (16 October).

The mosque is said to be able to hold up to 70,000 people. Imagine Christians being allowed to build a church that big, or any church for that matter, in Saudi Arabia.

People should protest the buildng of this mosque to hightlight the hypocrisy of Muslims.

US - Harry Reid's ethics problems

The New York Post reports.

October 16, 2006 -- SENATE Minority Leader Harry Reid's ethics woes continue to mount. An Associated Press expose shows that Reid pushed through changes in federal law that helped the senator get rich - via complex land deals with a lobbyist who's also tied up in a federal bribery case.
[...]

It isn't the first time Harry Reid's ties to real-estate developers have caused people to question the senator's ethics.
Back in August, the Los Angeles Times exposed Reid's questionable involvement and compensation in another Nevada real-estate deal. Harvey Whittemore, a lobbyist and real-estate investor, had plied Reid with campaign contributions and employed Reid's family members. The senator, in turn, helped Whittemore bulldoze through a host of environmental regulations in developing a huge parcel outside Las Vegas, to profit in the tens of millions.

At the least Reid should step down until after the investigation.

UK - BBC falls for the asbestos scam

The Telegraph reports.

Imagine that a very experienced, knowledgeable and brave whistleblower sets out to expose a commercial racket that is ripping off businesses and members of the public to the tune of hundreds of millions of pounds a year, and which a government agency, despite being supplied with factual evidence, does nothing to stop. If a leading BBC "consumer affairs" programme learned about this story, might one not expect it to throw all its resources into exposing the racket?

It might seem odd that, using evidence supplied by the very people who are behind the scam, the BBC would instead pull out all the stops to discredit the whistleblower. Yet such is the bizarre situation that will arise this Wednesday, when Radio Four's You and Yours programme attempts to sabotage the four-year campaign waged by Prof John Bridle, Britain's leading practical asbestos expert, to expose the malpractices of many firms in the asbestos industry.

Europe - A Lack of Tolerance That Is Justified

Indeed.

For decades, these interconnected webs of mosques, Islamic schools, and imported OIC imams have used the same freedom of speech they deny others to introduce the favored OIC concept of repressed societies to the heart of liberal Europe.

Their quest has not been limited to insulating their communities from a sea of democracy. They also have sought to reverse freedoms for Western citizens who want to publish, write, make films, and read. Witness the hounding of the British author Salman Rushdie and his books, the mayhem over the Danish cartoons of Prophet Muhammad, the upheaval over Pope Benedict's critical comments on Islam, and the far too numerous attempts to ban creative works on Islam.

But Europe has begun to fight back and here's a good suggestion.

OIC member nations should be told in the bluntest terms that no more mosques will be built in Europe until Saudi Arabia and other states reciprocate by allowing the construction of churches in the heart of Riyadh, Jeddah, and other cities and the lifting of restrictions on Christians and Jews living and working there.

The proposed London mosque would be a good place to start. We should protest its construction until Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries stop persecuting other faiths.

Bangladesh - Death for attending peace conference

That's the religion of peace and tolerance for you.

Meet Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury. As these lines are being written, Mr. Choudhury, a gadfly Bangladeshi journalist, is running for his life. Assuming he survives till Thursday, he will face charges of blasphemy, sedition, treason and espionage in a Dhaka courtroom. His crime is to have tried to attend a writers' conference in Tel Aviv on how the media can foster world peace. If convicted, he could face the death penalty.

UK - Al-Qaeda general 'in the UK'

The Sun reports.

AN al-Qaeda general believed to be plotting dirty bomb attacks on seven US cities could be in Britain, FBI sources said yesterday.

Adnan El Shukrijumah, who has a £2.5million bounty on his head, is suspected of planning a spectacular attack using bombs that spread radioactive waste.

The FBI are investigating the 31-year-old Saudi-born scientist’s UK links, including connections to the Midlands and Birmingham.

US - Democrats caught committing voter fraud

again.

At least 1,500 potentially fraudulent registration cards were turned in by the St. Louis branch of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, leading up to Wednesday's registration deadline for the Nov. 7 election, said Kim Mathis, chairwoman of the St. Louis City Board of Election Commissioners.

Invalid registrations solicited by ACORN workers included duplicate or incomplete ones, a 16-year-old voter, dead people registering, and forged signatures, Mathis said.

This is the same Democrat support group that did the same thing in Ohio during the last Presidential election.

Despite all the Democrats lies about Republican's committing voter fraud, it usualy turns out to be the Democrats doing it. See here.

In St. Louis alone, at least 16 local Democrats were convicted of election crimes in the last two years. That's just in one city!

US - Democratic candidate Claire McCaskill caught lying

Well, she is a Democrat after all.

Now.

Despite the fact that two different St. Louis Democrats who have gone on record about Claire McCaskill's outrageous Katrina remarks, Claire now claims that her comment about "Bush letting poor blacks die on rooftops during Hurricane Katrina" was "taken out of context"!

Then.

MS. McCASKILL: I, I think if it is misinterpreted that I was calling the president a racist...

MR. RUSSERT: Misinterpreted? “George Bush let people die on rooftops because they were poor and because they were black.”

MS. McCASKILL: That was—I was acknowledging what Americans believed at the time.

MR. RUSSERT: So you stand by it?

MS. McCASKILL: Absolutely

Just another lying Democrat.

US - Air America: How bad is it?

Financially I mean.

Air America has struggled financially since its inception. Court documents show the company lost $9.1 million in 2004, $19.6 million in 2005 and $13.1 million so far in 2006.

And it owes a lot of money.

Glaser had previously served as the company's chairman and is owed $9.8 million by the company, according to documents filed Friday with U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Horn said Glaser and Franken were unavailable for comment Friday, but she said Franken would discuss the issue on his show Monday. Air America owes Franken $360,750 in wages and other payments, according to the court documents.

So, how is this supposed to help?

The judge also approved interim debtor-in-possession financing of $900,000 from Democracy Allies LLC, an entity formed by Glaser and two other former board members, Terry Kelly and Kreeger. The full amount of the proposed loan, $2.6 million, would be considered at an Oct. 31 hearing.

Still, I for one hope Air America keeps bleeding the Demorats.

UK - Muslims are the new Jews

The ignorance of some people is truly astounding. Take India Knight's ignorance for example.

The white, male former foreign secretary said the veil was a “visible statement of separation and of difference”, and that he asks women who visit his surgery to remove it. And nuns? Does he demand to see their hair, too? It’s open season on Islam — Muslims are the new Jews. And the idea that Straw’s divisive statement should not only be tolerated but adopted on all sides, as it has been with a kind of bullying relish, troubles me.

All Nuns wear their "uniform" because they choose to. Many Muslim women are forced to wear the veil against their will. Many have been killed for refusing in so called "honour" killings.

Even more astounding Knight revises history and plays the "it's our fault" card.

Especially since July 7, it has become acceptable to say the most ignorant, degrading things about Islam. And then we all sit around wondering why young Muslim men appear to be getting angrier and more politicised, or why “westernised” young Muslim women whose mothers go bare-headed are suddenly, defiantly, opting for the full-on niqab-style veil that leaves only a slit for the eyes.

How ignorant is that? Aren't the 7/7 Muslim male terrorists supposed to have carried out the attack because they were angry and politicized? If degrading things are being said after 7/7, then what made them angry and politicized to the point that they murdered 52 innocent Britons on 7/7 before such things are supposed to have been said?

What facts or proof does Knight offer that "young Muslim women whose mothers go bare-headed are suddenly, defiantly, opting for the full-on niqab-style veil"? None. The Muslim population of Britain is rising due to immigration and birth rates and those Muslims are becoming more radicalized due to Britain's turning a blind eye to preachers of hate like Hamza. As a result more British Muslim women are being forced to wear the veil. They're forced to wear it at the mosque, at school and when they go out in public. They face harrasment and in some extreme cases, murder for refusing.

Knight's ignorance knows no bounds.

I am particularly irked by ancient old “feminists” wheeling out themselves and their 30-years-out-of-date opinions to reiterate the old chestnut that Islam, by its nature, oppresses women (unlike the Bible, eh,?) and that the veil compounds the blanket oppression.

Well, Knight can you point to which Christian country where women are not allowed to drive, vote, have 4 male witnesses that they've been raped, be stoned for adultry and must be accompanied by their husband or a male relative to report spouse abuse as is the case in many Muslim countries?

What a freeking moron.

In their view all Muslim women are crushed because they can’t wear visible lipstick or flash their thongs. Does it occur to these idiots that not necessarily everyone swoons with admiration at the fact that they have won the freedom to dress like 55-year-old slappers?

Does it occur to this idiot that not every western woman dresses like that? Or that women's right to dress as they please was hard fought for?

This is the old burqa versus the bikini con: every Muslim woman who wears a burqa is pure and every western woman who wears a bikini is a whore. What utter ignorant nonsense.

Read the rest of Knights insane rant if you want to but here's an admission from Knight that's relevant to the story.

“I don’t like facts very much, which is a bit of a bummer, really, if you’re a hack,” she says. “It always annoyed me that the facts wouldn’t bend to the much better story that I had in mind.”

That doesn't stop this "hack" from trying though.

I'm amazed that the Times publishes such ignorant tribe that's contains some racism.

UPDATE

Remember Knight had this to say:

"...“westernised” young Muslim women whose mothers go bare-headed are suddenly, defiantly, opting for the full-on niqab-style veil that leaves only a slit for the eyes."

Is this the kind of "opting" Knight is talking about?

One young man denied bullying Muslim women about the way they dressed, saying he "merely explained what will happen to them in the afterlife if they continue to dress inappropriately", she said.

UK - BBC loves Robert Fisk

Listen to this:

Kirsty Young’s castaway on Desert Island Discs this week is the journalist Robert Fisk.

He is one of our most distinguished foreign correspondents and has spent his life covering conflicts around the world - the past thirty years immersed in the life and politics of the Middle East.

He's "distinguished" alright, but not for the reasons the BBC thinks. Fisk has the dubious honour of having the term "Fisking" named after him. To "Fisk" an article is to point out the glaring errors in it. Some of Fisk's work is so bad people took to calling their dissections of it a "Fisking" and it stuck.

In this example Efraim Karsh "Fisks" Fisk's book.

"It is difficult to turn a page of The Great War for Civilisation without encountering some basic error. Jesus was born in Bethlehem, not, as Fisk has it, in Jerusalem. The Caliph Ali, the Prophet Muhammad’s cousin and son-in-law, was murdered in the year 661, not in the 8th century. Emir Abdallah became king of Transjordan in 1946, not 1921, and both he and his younger brother, King Faisal I of Iraq, hailed not from a “Gulf tribe” but rather from the Hashemites on the other side of the Arabian peninsula. The Iraqi monarchy was overthrown in 1958, not 1962; Hajj Amin al-Husseini, the mufti of Jerusalem, was appointed by the British authorities, not elected; Ayatollah Khomeini transferred his exile from Turkey to the holy Shiite city of Najaf not during Saddam Hussein’s rule but fourteen years before Saddam seized power. Security Council resolution 242 was passed in November 1967, not 1968; Anwar Sadat of Egypt signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1979, not 1977, and was assassinated in October 1981, not 1979. Yitzhak Rabin was minister of defense, not prime minister, during the first Palestinian intifada, and al Qaeda was established not in 1998 but a decade earlier. And so on and so forth."

How bad is that? What was it the BBC said of Fisk again?

"He is one of our most distinguished foreign correspondents..."

If Fisk's book is that bad, imagine how error filled his reporting must be.

US - No surprise: Oct. follies arrive

Jules Crittenden writes in the Boston Herald.

Welcome to the spectacular surprises of October 2006. A tour de force in the political theater of the absurd. Let’s review:

Snippet:

Lastly, an election-year October has again brought us a study in the British medical journal Lancet. Pollsters visited 1,841 Iraqi households and reported of 547 deaths attributable to violence since the 2003 invasion, from which they extrapolated an estimate of approximately 655,000 Iraqis killed in the last 3years. That works out to more than 500 a day, or 15,000 a month on average.

That the estimate is not supported by the existence of any mountain of bodies or any other evidence or logic is no obstacle to the social scientists who insist their methodology is sound.

For example, targeting the fuel tank of a vehicle could result in total destruction of the vehicle, while targeting a tire might result in the vehicle stopping without injury to the driver.

UK - Ministers 'are Islamophobic'

The governments finally come to its senses and is dropping the terror linked Muslim Council of Britain.

MUSLIM leaders have accused ministers of “stigmatising an entire community” and launching a “relentless barrage” against Islamic Britons.

Muhammad Abdul Bari, secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), has written to Ruth Kelly, the communities secretary, accusing her of pandering to an “Islamophobic” agenda.

The letter follows Kelly’s announcement last week that the government was cutting funding and official ties with the MCB, which until now has been the main body representing British Muslims. One senior Muslim source said: “The government is pandering to a far-right neocon agenda which is promoting Islamophobia.”

Cry me a river.

The council is understood to be particularly concerned by comments by Jack Straw, the Commons leader, about Muslim women wearing full veils.

So how did the general public react to Straw's comments?

According to a poll by Yougov, Straw’s popularity has jumped 15 percentage points since he made his comments.

EGYPT: NIQAB NOT A RELIGIOUS SYMBOL

It's a political symbol.

Cairo, 13 Oct. (AKI) - The niqab, a Muslim headdress that leaves only the eyes exposed, is not a religious object, Egypt's religion minister said Friday, entering the debate started by British ex-minister Jack Straw, who said he asked Muslim women visiting him to show their faces to facilitate dialogue. "Nor is the niqab a duty deriving from the Sharia" added Mohammad Hamdi Zaqzouq. "I know I will be criticised for my words but I think some Muslims are committing a fundamental error, focusing on external and superficial aspects, without exploring more relevant themes, and hence providing a distorted image of Islam" he said.

Straw last month triggered debate by inviting Muslim women in Britain to leave at home their veils, saying he would like to see their faces, "understand the expression of his constituents".

"I don't think he made an offensive request, especially as the Sharia requires that women cover their heads but not that they hide behind a mantle which makes them irrecognisable" Zaqzouq said.

UK - Salman Rushdie on what Muslims want

He should know.

It's an interview in The Independent, so hold your nose, don't listen to what the interviewer says and listen to Rushdie.

"If tomorrow the Israel/Palestine issue was resolved to the total happiness of all parties, it would not diminish the amount of terrorism coming out of al-Qa'ida by one jot. It's not what they're after," he adds, his foot tapping against mine as he leans forward. "Yes, it's a recruiting tool, rhetorically. Many people see there's an injustice there, and it helps them to get people into the gang, but it's not what they want. What they want is to change the nature of human life on earth into the image of the Taliban. If you want the whole earth to look like Taliban Afghanistan, then you're on the same side as them. If you don't want that, you're not. They do not represent the quest for human justice. That, I think, is one of the great mistakes of the left."

This should be tatooed on the forehead of all leftoids.

Islam - Media aiding terrorism

The big question is why? Why does the media continually leave out critical information regarding the terror links of the subjects they report on?

The BBC rarely uses the word Muslim when reporting on Muslim terrorists.

Here are a couple of recent examples of the media leaving out terror connections. See here and here.

The only conclusion one can safely draw is that the media is supporting them. Otherwise, why leave out the terror connections? The only other possiblity I can see is that the media is anti-west. Either way they're supporting terrorism.

UK - BBC court fight to keep 'critical' report secret

Wonder what they're afraid of?

The BBC has spent thousands of pounds of licence payers' money trying to block the release of a report which is believed to be highly critical of its Middle East coverage.

The corporation is mounting a landmark High Court action to prevent the release of The Balen Report under the Freedom of Information Act, despite the fact that BBC reporters often use the Act to pursue their journalism.

The action will increase suspicions that the report, which is believed to run to 20,000 words, includes evidence of anti-Israeli bias in news programming.

Not to mention the BBC's anti-American bias.

US - YouTube covering for the Democrats

That's how it looks. First YouTube pulled Michelle's anti-jihad videos.

Then they pulled pulled the AP video of Harry Reid hanging up after being quizzed about his land scandal. They say it was due to a copyright issued with AP. Yeah, right.

Now, YouTube have pulled a video of Claire McCaskill, a Democrat, bashing Bush while helping the elderly fill out voter registration cards.

Google is set to buy YouTube which will only makes things worse as Google already bans some right wing blogs from thier Google news.

This is how the left feels about free speech.

US - Democratic Party Fauxtoshops Veteran update

Remember when the Democrats were caught using a photograph of a Canadian soldier to "prove" they support our troops? Turns out the Democrats couldn't find a crowd of Democrats to demonstrate their support for our troops either. What did the Democrats do? Faked one.

And these people want to run our country.

UN - DEEPLY CONCERNED

is how Tim Blair sums up Annan's absymal performance while head of the UN.

Islam - It's a woman's fault

Ever notice how in Islam many things are blamed on their women? Muslim women must cover up so as not to arouse the passions of Muslim men.

Tim Blair points out a story about an honour killing in Australia.

"It is the Islamic way that if a son or daughter does or plans to do something that is unacceptable or wrong for a Muslim then it is the mother who is automatically at fault and will bear the brunt of the blame."

What was the unacceptable thing the daughter dared do? Leave Islam.

France - On the verge of civil war?

Maybe.

US - Democrats claim raised terror alert political

Here's why the Democrats are weak on security.

Remember this from two years ago?

The timing of the alert raised eyebrows among some Bush administration critics. Former Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean questioned whether there was a political objective to the alert — a sentiment roundly dismissed by Bush administration officials.

Now there's this.

LONDON (Reuters) - A [Muslim] Briton arrested amid a massive U.S. security alert two years ago admitted in a London court on Thursday to plotting to blow up the New York Stock Exchange and carry out "dirty bomb" attacks in Britain.

How about a statement from Dean and the Democrats now?

US - South Park takes on 9/11 conspiracy nuts

US - Terrorists funding the Democrats?

The Washington Post reports: "Muslim Anger Burns Over Lingering Probe of Charities"

Meanwhile...

US Muslim pleads guilty to supporting Hamas by donating to Muslim charity.

"Shorbagi provided the support through donations to the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development knowing that some or all of the money was in fact destined for Hamas," a Justice Department statement said.

And the Holy Land Foundation is connected to CAIR who are
connected to the Democrats.

So, are Muslim terrorists helping to fund the Democrats? There's certainly enough here to warrant closer examination.

UK - Muslim terror plotters used ebay to raise funds

The word Muslim is censored out of this report.

Then there's this...

According to the report, the suspects devised a chillingly effective method to conceal their detonators. They hollowed out AA batteries and experimented with filling them with a small amount of homemade explosives and other components. Numerous AA batteries were seized at a house in High Wycombe, U.K., that investigators describe as "the bomb factory."

US - Newsweek's bias showing again

Charles explains.

This is the same Newsweek that fabricated the Koran desecration story that killed many, promised to deliver 14 points for Kerry and called Bush a dictator on TV.

US - Survival kit sales increasing

Sometimes trends take place behind the scenes before people start to notice.

UK - What it really feels like to wear the 'burqa'

A feminist takes a look and it's not a pretty sight.

US - Democrat sentenced for taking bribes

and the AP covers up the fact he's a Democrat.

Ex-Sen. Roscoe Dixon, a Democrat who was in the Legislature for 22 years, left the federal courthouse vowing to appeal. A judge cited his lack of remorse for the sentence of five years and three months.

NB exposes how the AP covered their tracks.

UK - School Ban for boy with two snacks

Something is seriously wrong in Britain.

A boy aged 10 has been banned from his school dining hall because his packed lunch broke the government's healthy eating guidelines.

The father of Ryan Stupples is protesting after his son was forced to eat in the headmaster's office at Lunsford primary school, Larkfield, Kent, because his lunch contained two snacks, instead of one.

Ryan's lunch consisted of a sandwich, fruit, fromage frais, cake, mini cheese biscuits and a bottle of water. The cake and the biscuits broke the snack limit. They were discovered when a teacher checked his lunch box.

And this story takes the biscuit.

UK - Non-Muslim students at forced to wear headscarves

Will the Prime Ministers wife defend these girls right not to wear it?

US - Democrats take donations from terror linked group

Front Page reports.

Coral Springs, FL -- On Saturday, October 14, 2006, Americans Against Hate (AAH) will be leading a protest against the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Minnesota Candidate for U.S. Congress Keith Ellison, and Florida Gubernatorial Candidate Jim Davis. The protest will be taking place at the Southwest Focal Point Senior Center, in Pembroke Pines, Florida, which is playing host to a CAIR sponsored event featuring Ellison as Keynote Speaker.

The reason for the protest is to call attention to the fact that both Ellison and Davis have accepted campaign donations from CAIR officials. According to records, Keith Ellison received contributions from CAIR's National Executive Director Nihad Awad and CAIR's Government Affairs Director Corey Sawyer. As well, according to records, Jim Davis has received a contribution from the Communications Director of CAIR-Florida Ahmed Bedier.

This, despite the fact that CAIR has proven connections to terrorism.

UPDATE

In fact, the founder of the Texas chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations, Ghassan Elashi, was just sentenced to 6 years in jail for terror offenses.

Middle East - Escalating Palestinian violence

And they want their own country?

Members of rival families concur. Mahmoud el-Masri, whose family controls the east side of Beit Hanoun, said that since Hamas took office and the international community turned off the aid taps, Gaza has gotten more tribal and more dangerous. Mr. el-Masri, formerly an anti-narcotics officer, said that while Israel's air and sea blockade of the strip has made it difficult to get even some basic foodstuffs in the Gaza market, smugglers entering via tunnels from Egypt have flooded the strip with weapons and drugs. [Instead of basic foodstuffs.]

While the price of sugar has skyrocketed in the past 12 months, the price of guns and ammunition has fallen dramatically. Drug use has doubled, according to Mr. el-Masri, the money lining the pockets of the clans that control the trade, primarily the Hasanayn family, which is seen as Gaza's richest and most powerful.

Theft has skyrocketed, as Gazans turn to crime to pay for their new habits. The rising number of kidnappings in Gaza also plays a role, as ransom money is often used to buy cocaine, hashish, marijuana and weapons.

"The culture of violence has grown due to the collapse of any kind of authority," said Kamal Sharafi, a former Palestinian legislator in Gaza who has been called on to mediate disputes between belligerent clans. "Individuals in Gaza would give their lives for their family. They respect no other institution."

Unklike Foley, who resigned.

Sweden - Somalis donating to jihad?

The Swedish government ought to look into this.

Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed, the leader of executive council of Islamic Courts made the statement in an occasion happened in north of Mogadishu where members from Somali community in Sweden donated $7,000 to Islamic Courts. The money was collected from Somalis in Sweden.

North Korea versus Saddam

Oliver Kamm notes that the US was right to go after Saddam.

First, the geo-political position of Saddam’s tyranny was different from North Korea’s: we have more potential economic leverage over North Korea. Secondly, Saddam was an active supporter of terrorism, both Islamist and secular, making his removal an especially urgent task. Thirdly, the US and UK did not launch a pre-emptive war against Saddam: we had been at war with him for 12 years owing to his continued defiance of the ceasefire agreement that concluded the first Gulf War. Fourthly, and most urgent, we were justified in overthrowing Saddam in order to prevent him from becoming the next Kim Jong-il – no longer a tyrant of scarcely imaginable depravity, but a tyrant of scarcely imaginable depravity with a nuclear capability.

And he notes this on the current North Korean situation.

As the experience of sanctions on Iraq showed, undermining a barbarous regime will be immensely difficult, owing to its indifference to civilian life. But where the UN failed so grievously even in effectively containing Saddam, the interests of the permanent members of the Security Council are so obviously geared to the removal of Kim Jong-il's tyranny that there may be grounds for hope. The most urgent bilateral agreement is not between North Korea and the US but between China and the US. China and Russia must be brought into an arrangement of curbing all transport routes for the export of North Korea's nuclear materials and technology. China must understand that the alternative to its exerting pressure on North Korea will be a nuclear-armed Japan.

China doesn't seem to want to play along and I therefore don't share Kamm's hopes. Further, I don't see how anyone is going to stop Japan from going nuclear now; the biggest deterrent will be the Japanese themselves.

UK - Tobacco giant sparks malaria row

UK - Mother is denied Pill by Muslim pharmacist

I've heard stories similar to this in America.

A Muslim chemist repeatedly refused a mother the "morning after" pill because of his religious beliefs.

Jo-Ann Thomas, a school crossing patrolwoman with two children, was told that even though the item was in stock she should go to her doctor for her supplies.

When she was denied the pill at a Lloyds Pharmacy near her home in Thurcroft, Rotherham, she asked why and says she was told the pharmacist was a "deeply religious Muslim".

While the Telegraph points out the Muslim angle, I think it's important to note that a Christian could do the same thing.

But he referred to a "conscience clause" in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain's ethics code, saying: "It states that if supplying the morning-after pill is contrary to a pharmacist's personal, religious or moral beliefs they are entirely within their rights not to supply it."

Where does it end?

UK - BBC broadcasting to us infidels

Richard Littlejohn reports on how the BBC aids terrorism.

The BBC is launching two new channels. One, in Arabic, will compete with al-Jazeera. The other, in Farsi, will be beamed into Iran. A spokesman said of the Persian-language venture: 'The new television service will be editorially independent of the UK government.'

So why is Gordon Brown subsidising it to the tune of £15 million?

Wouldn't it be cheaper just to put out the BBC's domestic service on satellite? No one would notice the difference.

In recent days, Radio 4 has given over a substantial chunk of the flagship Today programme to a party political broadcast by an Islamist maniac.

Those of us who live in the London area might just as well be watching the Baghdad Broadcasting Corporation when it comes to 'local' news.

One night last week, the first five items on the World's Worst News Bulletin were all about Muslims.

Welcome to Londonistan.

Be sure and read the comments as it appears many in the UK are waking up to the problems at the BBC.

Then read the comments to this Telegraph article which reflect similar views.

It's great to see the British media reporting on what Biased BBC and I have been reporting on for years.

Time to stop the BBC.

UK - Has Britain had enough of BBC left wing bias?

Judging from the comments to this Telegraph article it would seem so.

Here's just a snippet from one comment.

I won't stay silent as the BBC undermines our troops abroad and pays left wing so-called comedians to sneer at the one world leader who's had the guts to challenge the new totalitarianism stalking the world.

Why should I pay for a BBC whose correspondents routinely misrepresent Israel as she defends herself at the front line of the struggle against totalitarianism - an ideology which the BBC hardly ever has the guts to name, let alone challenge.

And now I am expected to pay for an Arabic broadcast arm which, I fear, will continue the anti-American, anti Israel rhetoric which has become the hallmark of BBC journalism. Only this time, there won't be many people able to monitor its output and hold it to account in the way that we can with its English language broadcasting.

Ouch.

There's lots more like this.

UK - Muslim admits UK-US terror bomb plot

You won't find the word Muslim anywhere in this BBC report.

A man has pleaded guilty to conspiring to murder people in a series of bombings on British and US targets.

Thus the BBC leaves out the crux of the story and thereby provides cover for Muslim terrorists. I'm surprised that the word terror is still in the headline.

US - The Sandy Berger mystery

I've never understood why why Berger got off so light. The documents he admitted he stole and shredded were of the highest classification. North Korea's nukes: America's fault?

According to the Left and the BBC, everything is America's fault and more to the point, the Right in America.

On Monday I noted the BBC had a timeline of North Korea's nuclear build up which started in 2002. This conveniently makes it look like NK's entry into the nuclear power club is Bush's fault. Compare the BBC's timeline with this one. Now you see why the BBC started in 2002.

The London Times puts the blame right where it belongs - with Clinton.

How did we get into this scary state? Of course the world’s pundits are sure it is all America’s fault. The US has failed to be sufficiently engaged. The refusal to talk directly to Pyongyang and to focus all its efforts on Iraq have allowed North Korea to cruise unmolested to nuclear status.

This is, essentially, drivel. The problem with North Korea has not been an insufficiency of multilateralist diplomacy in the past ten years but an overabundance. Beginning in 1994, the Clinton Administration started the US down a course of an engagement with Pyongyang that was all carrots and no sticks. Every time the North Koreans thumbed their noses at the US and its allies, they were punished with — what? Sharp intakes of breath and shakes of the head.

Not only was the US [Clinton] unwilling to make good on its threats, but effective multilateral action also required serious efforts by other countries with real leverage over North Korea to do something. But for the past six years China has been playing a dangerous double game. It never wanted North Korea to become a nuclear power but it was quite happy that its ally kept the US, Japan and South Korea off balance with its burgeoning ambitions.

France - Barbarians at the Gates of Paris

Theodore Dalrymple relates his experience in visiting Paris.

A kind of anti-society has grown up in them—a population that derives the meaning of its life from the hatred it bears for the other, “official,” society in France. This alienation, this gulf of mistrust—greater than any I have encountered anywhere else in the world, including in the black townships of South Africa during the apartheid years—is written on the faces of the young men, most of them permanently unemployed, who hang out in the pocked and potholed open spaces between their logements. When you approach to speak to them, their immobile faces betray not a flicker of recognition of your shared humanity; they make no gesture to smooth social intercourse. If you are not one of them, you are against them.[...]

There are burned-out and eviscerated carcasses of cars everywhere. Fire is now fashionable in the cités: in Les Tarterets, residents had torched and looted every store—with the exceptions of one government-subsidized supermarket and a pharmacy. The underground parking lot, charred and blackened by smoke like a vault in an urban hell, is permanently closed.[...]

Molotov cocktails also greeted the president of the republic, Jacques Chirac, and his interior minister when they recently campaigned at two cités, Les Tarterets and Les Musiciens. The two dignitaries had to beat a swift and ignominious retreat, like foreign overlords visiting a barely held and hostile suzerainty: they came, they saw, they scuttled off.

It beggars belief no one checked my face.

No one tried to properly identify me at Leeds-Bradford airport.

It was only in France that I was asked to lift the veil and have my face checked against my passport photo.

What if I wasn’t who I said I was?

Yeah, what if?

Last night aviation expert David Learmount said: “This is an area that can be exploited and has been in the past. In 1994 two Chechen women wearing full Muslim dress were able to board planes out of Moscow with bombs strapped under their clothing. I am sure airport staff in the UK don’t want to wait until two planes are blown out of the sky to get over their embarrassment.”

UK - Fury as St Andrews honours Hezbollah backer

The Sunday Times reports.

STUDENT leaders are organising a mass protest over St Andrews University’s decision to award an honorary degree to a former Iranian president who praised Hezbollah.

Muhammad Khatami is to be made an honorary doctor of laws by Sir Menzies Campbell, the Liberal Democrat leader who is also the university’s chancellor.[...]

The decision to confer the honour on Khatami has provoked criticism from human rights groups who claim thousands of Iranian citizens were jailed and tortured for their political beliefs during his eight-year term that ended last year with the election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

That is Khatami's term ended, not the torture.

Sweden - Ramadan riots

North Korea claims nuclear test

BBC starts the bias.

The BBC has a link in the graphic to this timeline of N. Korea's nuclear activities. Interestingly, it starts in 2002 and continues till the present. What's the implication there? North Korea's entry into the nuclear club is Bush's fault.

The BBC would like you to forget North Korea's build up during Clinton's administration and the abysmal agreement former President Carter negotiated. The agreement was so bad it led to the now famous line "trust but verify". Clinton's agreement allowed North Korea to continue its nuclear program. By the time Bush was in office North Korea's nuclear program was well underway.

UPDATE

Compare the BBC's timeline with this one. Now you see why the BBC started in 2002.

Appeasement never works.

Morocco moves to drop headscarf

Seems more people are waking up to the fact that the Muslim veil is not a religious symbol but a political one.

In the current climate, the Moroccan government is worried about anything that might fan the flames of Islamic fundamentalism and says it does not want the headscarf to become a rallying cry for extreme organisations.

"This issue isn't really about religion, its about politics," he says.

"The headscarf for women is a political symbol, in the same way as the beard is for men. But we in the ministry must be very careful that the books are fair to all Moroccans and do not represent just one political faction."

Across the Arab world the headscarf issue seems to be gathering momentum.

In Tunisia for example, young women who wear veils say they have been harassed by the authorities who are forcing the girls to remove their veils at schools and universities.

UPDATE

More from here in the UK.

Otherwise stick to the telephone. “Communities,” said Straw, “are about how we relate to strangers and that is made more difficult if people are wearing a veil.” The burqa, or full veil, is an assertion of cultural separateness, now with obvious political overtones. It is a visible display of distance. According to Straw such a use of dress as an ethnic badge, often accompanied by a refusal to accept dress codes in schools and jobs, is increasing across Europe. It is a use against which some countries, such as France and the Netherlands, have taken legislative action.

Politicians who have dared to enter these torrid waters (such as the MP Ann Cryer) are attempting as leaders of divided communities to build bridges within them. What to a Londoner is an exotic sight on the other side of the street, in the Midlands or northwest is a declaration of apartheid. It announces a group of newcomers who will integrate legally but not culturally, commercially but not socially. They want nationality à la carte, not table d’hôte.

Glad to see more and more people speaking on this issue.

US - Turning Muslim in Texas

According to this UK channel 4 report, Islam is the fastest growing religion in Texas.

George W Bush may be backed by Christian fundamentalists but in his home state of Texas, Islam is the latest big draw. The Bible belt is transferring its allegiance to the Qur’an because, for many erstwhile Christians, believe it or not, the church is too liberal.

Really? I mean that just sounds as if it's blown way out of proportion to me. So, since Channel 4 didn't provide any facts or links to back up their claim, i decided to check it out.

These are some stats from 2000.

Texas tends to be heavily Protestant in the north and east and Catholic in the south and southwest. Leading Protestant denominations and their known adherents in 2000 were the Southern Baptist Convention, 3,519,459; the United Methodist Church, 1,022,342; Churches of Christ, 377,264; Assemblies of God, 228,098; the Presbyterian Church USA, 180,315; the Episcopal Church, 177,910; Independent Charismatic Churches, 159,449; the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 155,451; the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, 155,019; Independent Non-Charismatic Churches, 145,249; and the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, 140,106. Roman Catholics numbered 4,368,969 in 2000. There were an estimated 128,000 Jews, 114,999 Muslims, and about 10,777 adherents to the Baha'i faith. There were about 9.2 million people (44.5% of the population) who were not counted as members of any religious organization.

Now, mabe there has been some growth in the number of Muslim converts, but you total all the other religions and compare that to the number of Muslims in this report and it will take a long time before "The Bible belt is transferring its allegiance to the Qur’an "

The title of Ch 4's webpage? Can you believe it? Apparently not.

Australia - Muslim cabbies refusing the blind

I reported on this same thing here in Britain yesterday. Now, here's a similar report from Australia.

MUSLIM taxi drivers are refusing to carry blind passengers with their guide dogs or anyone carrying alcohol.

At least 20 dog-aided blind people have lodged discrimination complaints with the Victorian Taxi Directorate. Dozens more have voiced their anger.

Norway has a smililar problem.

Grethe Olsen, accompanied by her guide dog Isak, experienced being rejected by no less than 21 taxis before finally getting a ride. Olsen thinks the taxi drivers said no for religious reasons. The Norwegian Blind Association confirms that this is a well known problem all over the country, especially in cities with many immigrants.

UK - BBC lies in radio listening figures

Look at the spin and outright lie in this BBC report.

The BBC starts out by hailing "Radio 1 adds 700,000 listeners". You have to read into the story to find out that's for the last quarter. Then you have to dig a little more to find out the year to date and year on year figures which are 10.42 million and 10.24m respectively. In other words almost flat and maybe flat or even negative by years end.

Let's keep digging.

BBC Radio's share of listening is 54.7% – down on last quarter's record (55.4%) but still up on the year (54%).

All BBC Network Radio's reach of 32.85 million is up on the quarter (32.57m) and steady on the year (32.89m).

Remember that 32.89m figure.

I'm underwhelmed. It gets worse and better - worse for the BBC and better for us. Just listen to this spin.

BBC Radio 2 continues to perform strongly with 13.29 million listeners (12.94m last quarter and 13.27m last year).

Share, at 15.7%, is slightly down on the quarter and year (both 16%).

Only in Beeboid land can this be classified as "to peform strongly".

Continue reading the breakdown by channel which shows losses or miniscule gains. Then look at the chart at the end which has this weekly all BBC reach in thousands:

June 05 Mar 06 June 06

32,885 32,568 32,850

Overall loss of 35,000 year on year.

And that's a good thing.

But hang on a minute. Didn't the BBC tell us this at the beggining of their report that:

All BBC Network Radio's reach of 32.85 million is up on the quarter (32.57m) and steady on the year (32.89m).

But the BBC's own chart puts that figure at 32.85m and not 32.89m. By inventing the latter figure the BBC makes it look like a net gain on the year when in fact the correct figure shows a net loss.

That's the BBC for you.

Ethiopia - Muslims persecuting Christians

More from the religion of peace and tolerance.

MIddle East - Abbas dupes the world

No one should be surprised by this. This is a typical Muslim ploy of saying one thing to us infidels and the opposite to fellow Muslims.

He went on to say that government officials must “recognize their counterparts” in order to “solve people’s problems,” indicating that this does not constitute an inherent recognition of Israel, just a functional recognition that allows the PA to get what it needs:

“I do not demand of Hamas nor any other to recognize Israel. But from the government that works with Israelis in day to day life, yes.”

Denmark - Water source poisoned

Terrorists or just a warning?

On Tuesday afternoon, a control inspection revealed that Greve Municipality's water source had been contaminated by strychnine

Remains of strychnine found in the pumps of a Greve water reservoir could have meant a grand scale catastrophe, had a control check Tuesday not discovered the poison.

One or more unknown persons dumped rat poison into the reservoir at Greve Waterworks by shattering a Plexiglas cover on one of the well's openings. Nearly 35,000 citizens are supplied drinking water from the source.

US - Straw has no business commenting on Muslim issues

So says this Muslim. Reminds me of when John Reid was challenged on why he came to a Muslim area to speak. Whose country is this anyway?

US - Air America WISE GUYS GET A PASS

The New York Post reports.

October 7, 2006 -- Six officials of the Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club stole $1.2 million from the group, money meant for needy kids and seniors, a city probe has found. Investigations Commissioner Rose Gill Hearn calls it "disgusting" - the worst case of wrongdoing by a non-profit contractor she's seen since taking office.

Thank goodness the thieves will be going to jail for a very long time - and paying back every cent, and then some.

Well, actually, that's not quite true.

In fact, nobody is going to jail.

Not even for a single day.

And the crooks get to keep most of the cash they stole. Four weren't even charged, and after a few brief years, the two who were charged can return to nonprofit work - to loot again, perhaps.

US - Nagin enthusiastically endorses Jefferson

This should tell you a lot about Nagin.

The congressman denies the bribery allegations and has not been charged, but a former Jefferson aide and a Kentucky businessman have pleaded guilty in an alleged scheme to get kickbacks for helping the businessman get contracts in Africa.

That should read "not been charged yet".

What's left out of the report is the fact that the FBI found 90 grand wrapped in tin foil in Jefferson's freezer. The money was the same that had been marked by the FBI.

Scotland - Getting tough on petty crime

Let's hope so.

I'm no fan of on the spot fines though. My main reason is it lets the police become judge and jury. Not only can this have an adverse effect on the person arrested, they may be innocent, but it can have an adverse effect on the victim.

Last weekend a friend of mine had his car vandalized. The offender was caught on CCTV camera and was seen to enter his hotel opposite where the car was parked. The police were dispatched, the man confessed and was fined 40 pounds on the spot, which he duly paid. That's it, caught, prosecuted on the spot, fine paid - case closed.

But hang on a minute. What about the victim's car? Who pays for that? The police say that as far as the criminal aspect goes, the case is closed - he paid his fine. They told the victim he would have to use his own funds to persue the vandal through the civil courts in order to recover damages. Had this gone to criminal court, the vandal would have been made to pay by the courts at no cost to the victim.

The result is the police, courts and criminal have all saved time but the victim has not been compensated for the damage to his vechicle. Further, he will have to spend his time and money to persue the criminal! To make matters worse, in this case the crime was committed here in Scotland and the criminal lives in England. Good luck with that.

UK - BBC Whitewashes Somalia’s Islamists

More and more people are noticing and reporting on the bias at the BBC.

Even the Nobel Committee has noticed.

Some years ago, the BBC would have been an obvious candidate because it was the international model for news organisations. Nowadays, it is more debatable."

"We all know about the problems the BBC has had in recent
years,"
he said, without elaborating.

Yes, we do.

Iraq - The Secret Letter From Iraq

Secret to the Times maybe, but this letter has been on the net for weeks.

It's a great read. It would be great if he could do a follow up now that the tribes in Al Anbar province have joined forces with the government and are killing al Qaeda there.

US - The rise and fall of the Valerie Plame 'scandal.'

Rober Novak destroys David Corn's book, "The Inside Story of Spin, Scandal, and the Selling of the Iraq War".

Novak points out some things Corn leaves out of his book.

In Hubris, Corn never comes to grips with the fact that Armitage could not be prosecuted under the Intelligence Identities Protection Act because Valerie Wilson was not a covert operative under the terms of the law. A 463-page book that is endlessly discursive does not seriously consider that she was no longer assigned to foreign missions because her cover already had been broken. It never even mentions the report that Mrs. Wilson had been outed long ago by the traitor Aldrich Ames.
[...]

Nevertheless, Corn cannot give up the idea that I was part of a White House conspiracy to discredit Wilson, even though nobody from the Bush White House ever contacted me about Valerie Plame.
[...]

Irrelevant issues are dredged up to allege a conspiratorial relationship with Karl Rove. For example, Hubris goes far afield to imply that Rove was responsible for my column this year noting antiwar congressman John Murtha's connection with the Abscam scandal 26 years ago. In truth, at that point Rove (on the advice of his lawyers), had not spoken to me for over two years. (In fact, I was reminded of Murtha's past by two prominent Democrats, a former congressman and a former California party leader.) Corn wrote that "Murtha had been investigated by the FBI," not that he was an unindicted co-conspirator, which was the centerpiece of my column.

There's lot's more like that.

That's the left for you. In their quest for power, they simply do not care for the truth.

Palestinians teeter on edge of civil war

The Sunday Times reports.

According to Palestinian sources, Abbas has notified the US, Jordan and Egypt that he is preparing to take action against Hamas. Egypt has already indicated it would support him, the sources claim.

UN - Another financial scandal

Just one more reason to stop funding this corrupt body.

STAFF at the United Nations headquarters in New York claimed tens of thousands of pounds in school fees for non-existent children, one of its most senior auditors has revealed.

Hundreds of employees also defrauded US tax authorities by claiming refunds for mortgage interest and property taxes that should have gone to the UN.

These are just two of the scams to be revealed in a book by Edwin Nhliziyo, chief auditor of the UN’s peacekeeping division until his retirement.

His account aims to expose how the UN is losing hundreds of millions of pounds through corruption and fraud.

Maybe this is why Annan won't open up the UN's books.

Britain says Pakistan is hiding Taliban chief

The Sunday Times reports.

Captured Taliban fighters and failed suicide bombers have confirmed that they were trained by the Pakistani intelligence service, known as the ISI. The information includes an address in Quetta where Mullah Omar, the Taliban leader, is said to live.

How involved is the ISI in aiding the Taleban?

In Washington two weeks ago Karzai handed Pakistan the names and addresses of alleged handlers of suicide bombers using a camp near Peshawar that had been infiltrated by an Afghan informer. Last Wednesday a rubbish bag was discovered in the camp containing his body.

US - Democrats support vets. But from which country?

The Democrats claim to support our veterans but they don't even know what they look like. How bad is that?

Think about it for a minute. This picture isn't on some Democrats blog or personal web site, it's on the DNC's website.

How can the Democrats support our troops if they don't know one when they see one?

Venezuela - Mass opposition rally

Seems not everyone likes Ken Livingstone's dictator loving buddy.

Tens of thousands of people have marched through the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, in support of the main opposition candidate, Manuel Rosales.

Mr Rosales will face President Hugo Chavez in December's presidential poll.

The march, which filled the main avenues of the city centre, was the biggest opposition rally Venezuela has seen since early 2004.

Check out the picture. I'd say more like hundreds of thousands.

UK - Second minister enters veils row

Good for him.

I really like this part.

In an article for the Sunday Mirror, he urged Muslims to be aware of the views of non-Muslims.

About damn time somebody said that.

US - Questions for Clinton and Clarke

Michael Scheuer – the former head of the CIA's bin Laden unit has them.

UK - BBC bias and stealth editing

Harry's Place catches the BBC doing what we and Biased BBC document almost daily. HP notes these stealth edits:

- MPACUK is no longer refered to as a "civil liberties" organisation, or indeed at all.
- The suggestion that the groups consulted are "representing Muslims" has been replaced with the neutral, and more accurate, "Muslim groups".
- The phrase "angry response" has been replaced with "mixed response", and balance has been introduced into the article, in the form of a quotation from a MCB spokesman.

Strangely, they end with this.

"Well done, the BBC!"

Well done for getting the story horribly wrong in the first place and then stealth editing it without so much as a note of corrections, something the BBC does almost daily by the way, and the BBC are to be given a well done?!? I don't think so. HP was just being kind.

UK - Gallery scraps art, fearing Muslim rage

Europe has totally caved in to Muslims.

PARIS (Reuters) - A London gallery has decided not to show some works of art because it fears they would upset Muslims, a curator said on Friday, a week after a German opera house canned a Mozart production for the same reason.

What are they afraid of? Muslims and the Left keep telling us Islam is the religion of peace and tolerance.

On top of this Muslim appeasement, you have Muslim police officers refusing to guard Jews and Muslim cabs refusing guide dogs.

When is Britain going to start fighting back?

Sweeden isn't afraid.

UK - Veil: British papers back Straw

UK - BBC and the Muslim Pc row

The BBC asked the public their opinion on the Muslim Pc who refused to guard the Israeli embassy. Needless to say the BBC didn't get the reaction they were after.

Iran - the stoning of women video

This video will make you sick. GRAPHIC WARNING!!!

The video quality is poor but you can clearly see several women being stoned to death about 2/3 of the way into the clip. God knows how much they must have suffered and how long it must have took for them to die.

If something isn't done soon, several more women in Iran are going to be stoned to death. This link contains two form letters and several email addresses to send them to.

Why isn't the world outraged by this?

UPDATE

Here's is a copy of an email I've sent to several big bloggers in hopes to start a blogswarm to highlight this torture and stop it from happening to more women.

Recently I emailed several people over the upcoming stoning of several women in Iran. See here:

http://eteraz.wordpress.com/2006/10/04/stand-against-women-stoned-to-death-you-apathetic-monsters/

I suggested we do a blogswarm or something to highlight this torture. No one seems to have decided that was a good idea.

Here’s a video of women being stoned in Iran. GRAPHIC WARNING!! The quality is poor but you can clearly see several women being stoned to death. God knows how they must have suffered and how long it took them to die.

http://www.amitiesquebec-israel.org/texts/stoning.htm

The first link has several form letters and email address to send them to so most of the work as been done. Shouldn’t we do a blogswarm to raise people’s awareness of this torture?

The media and the blogsphere are obsessed with Foleygate. No ones died or being tortured and as far as we know no crime was even committed. Doesn’t this deserve more attention that Folegate?

Kind regards,

Marc Landers

Malaysia - Non-Muslims 'must wear scarves'

Here's a report from last year on non Muslims forced to wear head scarves.

The minister in charge of national unity, Maximus Ongkili, said the decision by the International Islamic University earlier this year was not a religious one, but merely part of university procedures.

So, it's ok for Muslims to force non Muslims to wear head scarves but it's not ok for non Muslims to force Muslims to take it off.

Funny how Muslims all want things their way.

Islam and the veil

Muslims and the media would have you believe the hijab, burqa and similar muslim garb are religious symbols. Here's an article that takes issue with that notion.

In her article “Veiling Resistance”, which appeared in the March 1999 edition of Fashion Theory: The Journal of Dress, Body & Culture, Professor El Guindi said, “Women’s Islamic dress, known as al-ziyy al-Islami, is an innovative construction that was first worn in the mid-1970s by activists. It does not represent a return to any traditional dress form and has no tangible precedent. There was no industry behind it-not one store in Egypt carried such an outfit. Based on an idealized Islamic vision gradually constructed for the Islamic community in the seventh century, it was made in the homes by the activists themselves.”

Egypt, Iran, and Turkey all took steps when that activist dress appeared to ban it because they understood it to be a militant challenge to the growing women’s rights movement in the Middle East and the moderate Islam that had been the norm. However, by the mid-1970s, the radical Islamic clothing became so commonplace that it began to compete with and replace western dress and native costume. Sometimes, as in Iran and Afghanistan, the entire form was clothed in the black chador or completely obliterated in the burqha. In Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and Turkey, just the headscarf, which covered the head, forehead and chin, was adopted.

Wearing the scarf spread like wildfire among radicals because it flouted moderate Islamic authority. It is worn now as a purposeful insult to Western institutions. Muslims see it as an ersatz flag of conquest on Western soil. Every time you see one it is a proclamation of their triumph on your country's soil.

Which negates every attempt to compare the "veil" to other religious clothing.

UK - Nobel Committee Notices BBC Bias

More and more people are. And that's a good thing.

Perhaps they read my case against the BBC.

UK - BBC and the veil

Compare what the BBC's panel of Muslims has to say about Straw's comments to what the British public at large are saying. Be sure and note the number of people recommending the commenters points.

The British public are fed up with the Islamization of Britain.

The BBC currently have one dissenter at the top of the comments. But even his comments are easily debunked.

On a Friday evening, around Britain, how many veiled women are arrested for being drunk and disorderly? And how many "normal" women are being arrested for the same reason?

Dan, Hertford

There are several things wrong with this analogy. For starters, we know from Muslims themselves that they sometimes wear the veil during the day and party at night. I've seen photos and videos of Muslim women showing up at parties in a hijab, only to remove it and reveal western clothes underneath and proceed to party. This is common in Iran.

Second, how many of the "normal" women he cites are actually Muslims? Many Muslims drink.

Third, he's saying by implication that Western ("normal") women are drunks. It's the old bikini versus the burqa argument. If you wear a bikini you're somehow immoral and if you wear the burqa you're moral.

US - Muslim calls for renouncing Islamic teachings

Nice to hear it.

The guy seems to know what he's talking about.

Dr. Tawfik Hamid, an Egyptian physician, Islamic scholar and former extremist, is the author of The Roots of Jihad (www.rootsofjihad.org).

UK - Muslims attack soldiers - IN BRITAIN!!

The Sun reports.

MUSLIM yobs who wrecked a house to stop four brave soldiers moving in after returning from Afghanistan sparked outrage last night.

The house in a village near riot-torn Windsor had BRICKS thrown through windows and was DAUBED with messages of hate.

Four young Household Cavalry officers who had planned to rent it were also the target of phone THREATS.

The Army's reaction?

They were yesterday forced to look elsewhere to live — after top brass warned them against inflaming racial violence near the Queen’s Windsor Castle home.

The Army blames the victims!!! Cowards!!

At least some are speaking out.

A source at the regiment said: “These guys have done nothing but bravely serve their country — yet they can’t even live where they want in their own country.” The £3,000-a-month detached home in picturesque Datchet, Berks, is less than a mile from Windsor Castle. It was attacked as extra police were drafted into Windsor — where battles have raged for days between Asian and white gangs.

Well, sadly, if the government won't do something to stop these Muslim terrorists, the people are bound to take matters into their own hands.

Instead of putting and end to the Islamization of Britain, the government seems bent on appeasing Muslims. Didn't they learn anything from Hitler?

People are not getting fed up with Muslim appeasement just here in Britain, all over Europe there are growing signs that people have had enough.

UK - Muslim woman hangs kids, self

Who knows what prompted her to do this. It could just be simple mental illness which knows no race or religious barriers. But there are some disturbing aspects to the case.

First off, the manner of the deaths by hanging. I've read somewhere recently that hanging has some significance for Muslims. I forget just what it is but I notice in Iran that some people are stoned to death while others are hanged. Women adulters are stoned while homosexuals are hanged, for example.

Then there's the fact that she lived like a recluse and even kept the children in doors. Here again this could be signs of mental illness.

Then there's this.

'She had, as far as I know, no friends or family in the area. I don't remember her ever having a single visitor.' 'She looked after the kids all day, every day, while her husband worked long hours. He often didn't come home until 2am or 3am.'

This may all be just a tragedy but in this day and age, further investigation may be in order.

Europe Is Skeptical Of Dialogue With Muslims

The backlash against Muslim terrorism, Muslim appeasement and the Islamization of Europe, is reaching critical mass.

Indeed, what can one say about Britain's Muslims, when 10% of those polled after the August airliner plot said they would be "willing" to wage suicide attacks against their fellow Britons, and another 70% refused to condemn that view? [So much for a minority hijacking Islam. ed]

Europeans now see a need not to massage the Muslim ethos but to remove it. One can talk forever of the necessity for Islam to reform itself, but that fails to resonate within Muslim societies, Europeans tell me.

My European tour made it eminently clear that Western Europeans — if not their more liberal, compromised ruling and business elites — believe that for Muslims living in the West, it's either Western ways or the highway.

Harsh, maybe, but that is how it stands.

Yes, it is. And the conclusion is...

"The dialogue is over. The time for action is closing in."

The spark that ignites the flames may come from France where over 2,500 police officers have been attacked and injured by Muslims and 20,000 illegal immigrants are to be deported in a month's time.

But here in Britain, from the calls, conversations and emails I get, people here are no longer just fed up with the governments appeasement of Muslims, they're livid. The angry reactions to the Muslim Pc who refused to guard the Israeli embassy and the Muslim cabbie who refused a blind woman's guide dog, were some of the most intense I've heard.

Anti-Americanism is fading as the fad of the day and being replaced with a push back against what many see as the Islamization of Britain. Witness Jack Straw's amazingly frank statement's on Muslim women wearing the hijab. And Sir Steven's even more frank statement that Muslim terrorism is a Muslim problem, they own it and they need to fix it. If these are the kinds of statments our leaders are now making, you can imagine what the man in the street is saying.

It's not longer the "Arab street" people look to with a worrying eye, it's main street.

UPDATE

How much more of this is Britain going to put up with.

MUSLIM yobs who wrecked a house to stop four brave soldiers moving in after returning from Afghanistan sparked outrage last night.

US - Bill Clinton's Terrorism FAILURES!

Islam - Children of the Future Jihad

We are constantly told that Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance, that evil acts committed in the name of Islam by a minority and that Islam has been hijacked.

Far from it. As this video shows, Muslim children are taught to hate from almost birth. Furhter, Muslim text books are filled with the same messages and preached at the mosques.

Here are 29 additional videos proving Islam has not been hijacked by a few militants.

Islam - Interview with a Sheik

This would be funny if it weren't so serious.

UK - Seizures of radio active material doubles

in last four years.

SEIZURES of smuggled radioactive material capable of making a terrorist “dirty bomb” have doubled in the past four years, according to official figures seen by The Times.

Smugglers have been caught trying to traffick dangerous radioactive material more than 300 times since 2002, statistics from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) show. Most of the incidents are understood to have occurred in Europe.

The disclosures come as al-Qaeda is known to be intensfiying its efforts to obtain a radoactive device. Last year, Western security services, including MI5 and MI6, thwarted 16 attempts to smuggle plutonium or uranium. On two occasions small quantities of highly enriched uranium were reported missing. All were feared to have been destined for terror groups.

A matter of when not if.

UK - Free speech or corruption on YouTube?

The Daily Mail reports.

One thing not mentioned in this report, is the fact that YouTube has been pulling videos and deleting accounts of people who post anti jihad videos. Seems it's ok to post Islamists videos, those preaching hate, inciting violence and terror attacks, but not ones attacking those videos.

Whose side is YouTube on?

Michelle reports on fighting jihad on YouTube. Maybe that should be fighting YouTube jihad.

UK - Muslim cab driver refuses guide dog

Not only do we have a Muslim police officer with ties to terrorists refusing to guard the Israeli embassy, now we have a Muslim cab driver refusing a blind woman's guide dog.

Abdul Rasheed Majekodumni told Jane Vernon she could not get into his car with the dog because of his religion.

And the BBC is involved indirectly.

Mrs Vernon, who works as a legal officer for the Royal National Institute for the Blind, added: "The owner of the minicab firm, Niven Sinclair, was also very insensitive, telling me that what had happened to me wasn't really very important, and I should have more respect for other people's culture. They have shown very little respect for my rights as a disabled person and have never once offered me an apology."

Niven's and Co cab company, is contracted by the BBC and the minicab was sent to take her home from a studio after she was invited to appear on News 24.

I read of a similar incident in Australia.

In the US, Muslim cab drivers are refusing to admit passengers with alcohol and Muslims woking for a trucking firm refused to drive trucks carrying alcohol. Next thing you now they'll refuse to admit passengers with bacon or drive trucks transporting pork.

Are they going to start refusing Jewish or Christian fares next?

If their job requires Muslims to do things that are against their faith, they should quit their jobs or put up with it. They have the right to make that choice but they don't have a right disobey the law or impose their religion on the rest of us.

US - Columbia left wing students against free speech

Actually most of the left wing is anti free speech. The left just can't stand for anyone espousing an opposing view. The left believes their view is the only one that should be heard. Don't believe me? Listen to this.

"...a Columbia junior who took part in the protest, Ryan Fukumori, said. "They have no right to be able to speak here."

Who was behind this attack on free speech?

"...the students, led by the student chapter of the International Socialist Organization,..."

Communists. Just as the anti war movement is led by communists.

But it's not just the left wing students that are to blame, the Columbia administration is left wing as well.

"It only gets worse. After letting the perpetrators escape, university administrators had the gall to berate the president of Columbia's College Republicans, Christopher Kulawik, for allowing his guests to infuriate the crowd, according to Mr. Kulawik. In other words, despite formally nodding to the value of free speech, Columbia is effectively blaming the victim for inciting the chaos. "It's a horrible feeling to know your peers are willing to resort to violence when they disagree with you," Mr. Kulawik told our Eliana Johnson. Yet Mr. Kulawik's peers could be forgiven for thinking they'd get away with it, given their school's troubled history on free speech."

Here's another left wing Columbia student that wants free speech banned.

As of late Thursday night, 13 Columbia students and alumni had joined a Facebook group titled, "YES, I was there when Gilchrist was rushed faster than CUFT's Quarterback."

"I don't [agree with the decision], but there's nothing we can do about it," Patric Prado, SEAS '09 and creator of the group, said. "I was there, and it's fine that they want to incriminate people who actually started violence. ... Yes, we were stupid, but we got our message across that we weren't going to accept this on campus."

"This" being free speech.

Maybe a few nights in jail and a criminal record will teach these left wing student thugs a lesson in Democracy. Columbia University certainly isn't doing it.

Atlas Shrugged notes this:

Oh yeah, can anyone out there figure out why the sign at Columbia against the Minutemen that read "Nobody is illegal" was it in *Arabic* as well as in English. I mean, why not Spanish?

US - Budget Deficit Drops to $250 Billion

Gas prices are falling, unemployment is falling and so too is the budget deficit.

The federal budget estimate for the fiscal year just completed dropped to $250 billion, congressional estimators said Friday, as the economy continues to fuel impressive tax revenues.

The Congressional Budget Office's latest estimate is $10 billion below CBO predictions issued in August and well below a July White House prediction of $296 billion.

The improving deficit picture _ Bush predicted a $423 billion deficit in his February budget _ has been driven by better-than-expected tax receipts, especially from corporate profits, CBO said.

And the stock market has reached new highs.

All bad news for Democrats. Add to that the passage of two anti terror bills and its easy to see why the Democrats are milking the Foley case for all they can get - they have nothing else.

UK - BBC white washes Muslim gang

Thanks to all the readers who emailed about the BBC's reporting, or rather lack there of, on the Muslim gang in Windsor. Read this blog report if you want to find out the truth of what happened.

It's bad enough that the BBC censor the words "Muslim" and "Islam" from most of their reporting, well at least if the report would portray either in a negative way, but to deliberately omit an assault that is the crux of the story?

We shouldn't be surprised. I mean, the BBC hired the editor in chief of al Jazeera to train their reporters. Now you know why the BBC whitewashes Muslim issues.

Ok, so we've got al Jazeera running the BBC, Muslim police officers with terror connections refusng to guard the Israeli embassy, Muslim police officers wearing the hijab and London's mad mayor, Red Ken Livingstone, embracing Muslim terrorist Yusef al-Qaradawi.

bin Laden isn't hiding out in Pakistan, he's hiding out in somewhere in Londonistan.

Light blogging

Blogging may be light the rest of the day. A business friend's computer has been hacked and I'm away to sort it. This should be a fun Friday.

Islam - Meet the 'Rosa Parks of Pakistan'

Hard to believe that this is still happening in today's world.

Far from shrouding herself in a cloak of victimhood, taking a vow of silence or committing suicide -- which would have been in keeping with the fate of other victims of this bizarre punishment before her -- Mukhtaran Mai fought back. She told her story to the whole world.

Since ‘Shame' premiered at the 31st annual Toronto International Film Festival, last month, it has been making waves through its combination of interviews interspersed with TV footage, explaining Mai's ordeal. Gang-raped in June 2002, in Meerwala, a farming village in southern Punjab on the orders of the panchayat (village council) as retribution for her younger brother's alleged sexual molestation of a girl from the socially high Mastoi clan, justice still remains a distant dream for Mai.

In Iran, they're getting ready to stone women for adultery. Barbaric as that is, few know that the law proscribes the size of the stones so as to maximize the pain and prolong death.

But if you criticize Islam, the left call you a bigot and a racist. If speaking out against such barbarism is racist, count me in.

UN warned on Geneva attack threat

US - Democrats "Driven to distraction"

That's the Democrats plan.

UK - Embassy row Muslim officer's terror connection

The plot thickens.

Here's my post on the scandal so far.

Now comes this.

A Muslim police officer who asked to be excused from guarding the Israeli embassy was married by the radical cleric Omar Bakri Mohammed, The Daily Telegraph has learned.

Pc Alexander Omar-Basha's father-in-law is related to Bakri, who performed an Islamic ceremony at the family home in north London.

The cleric, who founded the now disbanded Al-Muhajiroun group of radical Muslims, is living in Lebanon after being barred from the UK.

Bakri caused consternation when he said he would never warn the police if he learned of an impending suicide bomber attack by fellow Muslims. He also called the July 7 London suicide bombers "the fantastic four".

Basha had to have known Bakri's links to terrorism. And the police should have known about Basha's connections to Bakri. How the hell did Basha get a job with the police force, let alone the armed Diplomatic Protection Group, in the first place?

Back in January last year, Bakri openly declared war on Britain.

LONDON, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Muslims living in Britain are facing two choices; either to migrate or to join the jihad, a key Islamic figure has said.

Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammed, leader of the now officially disbanded Islamic militant group Al Muhajiroun told United Press International Saturday that as the covenant of security under which Muslims previously lived in Britain has been broken, Muslims must now consider themselves at war.

"And I declare we should ourselves join the global Islamic camp against the global crusade camp," he said.

And they declare bin Laden is their leader.

He called on Muslims to form a new coalition united behind al-Qaida with Osama Bin Laden as their leader.

There is no place for "moderate Muslims" in his new world order.

Those who did not wish to either leave or fight would not be regarded as Muslims, said Sheikh Omar, condemning in particular the Muslim Council of Britain for urging the Muslim community to cooperate with the British government.

This scandal is just starting.

US - Pentagon Rebuts Newsweek's Afghanistan Assessment

Newsweek is a disgrace.

It was Newsweek that fabricated the Koran desecration story that cost many lives around the world. It was Newsweek that calimed they could deliver 14 points for Kerry and called Bush a dictator. And it was Newsweek that published this cover for their magazine.

Czech Republic - Muslim terrorists planned mass murders

Reuters reports.

PRAGUE (Reuters) - Islamic extremists planned to kidnap dozens of Jews in Prague and hold them hostage before murdering them, the daily Mlada Fronta Dnes reported on Friday.

The Czech Republic's leading newspaper quoted unidentified sources close to intelligence agencies as saying the captives would have been held in a Prague synagogue while the captors made broad demands that they knew could not be fulfilled.

When those demands -- which were not specified by the sources -- were not met, the extremists would blow up the building, killing all who were inside, the paper added.

Sooner or later this will happen.

US - Anti-Bush protest fizzle

But that doesn't stop the Bakersfield Californian from spinning the failed protests. Here's their headline: "Thousands nationwide protest Bush's policies"

Note that's "thousands" not hundreds or even tens of thousands and it covers the entire nation.

"Hundreds of people called the Bush administration's policies a crime and held up yellow police tape along a three-block stretch in front of the White House on Thursday as part of a nationwide day of protest against the president. [Now we're down to hundreds and this in front of the White House, the supposed belly of the beast]

The 500 demonstrators were among many who gathered for similar events in more than 200 cities to protest Bush on issues ranging from global warming to the war in Iraq."

How delusional are these people? Just listen.

"We are turning the corner in bringing forward a mass movement of resistance to drive out the Bush regime," said organizer Travis Morales with the activist group World Can't Wait.

"A mass movement"? More like a bowel movement. It gets better.

"Thousands of protesters clogged New York City's streets as they marched from the United Nations headquarters."

Really LUBNA? And you would know that how reporting from California? Someone who was there disagrees and he has pictures to prove it. The average age looked to be about 60's - aging anti-war protesters from Vietnam.

"They should have changed it to the World Can’t Bother to Show Up rally because there was hardly anyone there. This is a shocker for NYC being a moonbat mecca. No papier mache heads but there was a large Bush head. The usual stands hawking t-shirts, buttons and publications but no crowds. The space they had cordoned off on Union Square North was not even a third full. The overall feeling was one of anemic rage, worn out slogans and paranoia. A woman in the crowd kept screaming ‘psychopath’ over and over. The speakers were literally screaming and shrieking so loud into the massive sound system it was painful. Ran into a former colleague and we both remarked on how dismally empty it was."

Thanks to the blogsphere, the world now knows that the anti-war movement is led by Communists.

Afghanistan - Pakistan aiding Taleban?

That's what captured Pakistanis are saying.

Nato captured 160 Taliban, many of them Pakistanis who described in detail the ISI's support to the Taliban.

Nato is now mapping the entire Taliban support structure in Balochistan, from ISI- run training camps near Quetta to huge ammunition dumps, arrival points for Taliban's new weapons and meeting places of the shura, or leadership council, in Quetta, which is headed by Mullah Mohammed Omar, the group's leader since its creation a dozen years ago.

"Taliban decision-making and its logistics are all inside Pakistan," said the Afghan defense minister, General Rahim Wardak.

A post-battle intelligence report compiled by Nato and Afghan forces involved in Operation Medusa demonstrates the logistical capability of the Taliban.

During the battle the Taliban fired an estimated 400,000 rounds of ammunition, 2,000 rocket-propelled grenades and 1,000 mortar shells, which slowly arrived in Panjwai from Quetta over the spring months. Ammunition dumps unearthed after the battle showed that the Taliban had stocked over one million rounds in Panjwai.

In Panjwai the Taliban had also established a training camp to teach guerrillas how to penetrate Kandahar, a separate camp to train suicide bombers and a full surgical field hospital. Nato estimated the cost of Taliban ammunition stocks at around £2.6 million. "The Taliban could not have done this on their own without the ISI," said a senior Nato officer.

Gen Musharraf this week admitted that "retired" ISI officers might be involved in aiding the Taliban, the closest he has come to admitting the agency's role.

Russia - Tougher Migrant Laws Proposed

A growing trend around the world.

The left were up in arms over America's planned tightening of immigration laws. They seem rather quite now that Sweeden, France, Germany and Russia are all doing the same.

What's Britain doing?

US - Democrats caught in voter fraud - again

ACORN has been caught in voter fraud again. You may remember in the last Presidential election the Democrats wailed that there was wide spread voter fraud. They then paid for an independent investigation that found, yes, there was wide spread fraud - committed by the Democrats. One of the four groups found to have committed voter fraud on behalf of the Democrats was ACORN.

US - Foleygate May Turn Into CREWgate

Foleygate is becoming more of a Democrat scandal everyday.

US - Democrat sex predator in Florida

Michelle has the story.

I told you this would backfire on the Democrats.

US - Fox News at 10

Here's a look at Fox News at 10.

I like this bit:

"The snappiest Ailes got in L.A. this summer was when someone asked about Fox News’ plans to expland into local news programming. “What are you worried about?” Ailes snapped. “That we’re going to do fair and balanced reporting at the local stations?”

“We haven’t had to fire our executives or our reporters or our anchors or anybody else for making up the news,” Ailes continued. “Maybe we’re a little too in-your-face at times. But basically what we do is cover the story, and we haven’t been forced to eat our words because we’re actually telling people what’s going on. Sometimes there’s more than one point of view, and we try to reflect that.

That's why the left hate Fox News so much - Fox puts out the other point of view - the left can't stand that.

Iraq - Iraqi Tribes Get Enthusiastic About Counterterrorism

CQ explains.

"Sunni and tribal militiamen have waged retaliatory attacks against Al Qaeda targets for much of the spring and summer, apparently stepping them up in the last few days as plans for the organized tribal force gathered steam.

Last week, Al Iraqiya television reported that the reputed head of Al Qaeda in Al Anbar province, Khalid Ibrahim Mahal, was killed in a joint operation by U.S. and Iraqi forces. Tribal leaders took credit for assisting with the operation."

And they're having lots of success.

Al-Qaida in Iraq is being pushed out of its strongholds in Anbar province after three days of fighting with Iraq's fiercely independent tribes. A number of al-Qaida fighters have been killed and captured, including Saudis and Syrians.[...]

They've killed or captured over 600 al Qaeda.

Islam - Stand Against Women Stoned to Death

Why isn't the women's movement, indeed the world, not up in arms over Muslims stoning women to death?

Where's the outrage? The world condemns America for all manner of percieved ills and yet remains silent when Muslims STONE women to death.

Where's the outrage at this barbaric Islamic practice?

I whish the bogsphere would at least do a blog burst on this. The website has two sample letters and email address to contact the Iranians and ask them to stop this barbaric practice.
