British Muslims cooperate with anti-terror efforts? Not so fast from Jihad Watch

Yesterday Iqbal Sacranie of the Muslim Council of Britain called on British Muslims to aid in anti-terror efforts. Today Sheikh Omar Bakri of Al-Muhajiroun begs to differ. From the Telegraph:

Muslims cannot co-operate with local authorities against other members of the faith, the outspoken leader of an Islamic group has said.
Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad was reacting to a call from the Muslim Council of Britain for the community to play its part in the fight against terrorism, following the anti-terrorism raids earlier this week in which eight men were arrested.

The mainstream Council is trying to limit "rogue" Islamic preachers, blaming them for brainwashing young men and promoting holy war against the West

But Sheikh Omar told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "Muslims have a unique way of life. Co-operating with the authorities against any other Muslims, that is an act of apostasy in Islam."

Just what I was talking about earlier this morning. This is why I keep ranting that the Muslim community is not not doing enough to stop the radicalization of Islam.
