UK - BBC's changing stance on al Qaeda

Back in January 2005, the BBC claimed al Qaeda did not exist.

Should we be worried about the threat from organised terrorism or is it simply a phantom menace being used to stop society from falling apart?

In the past our politicians offered us dreams of a better world. Now they promise to protect us from nightmares.

The most frightening of these is the threat of an international terror network. But just as the dreams were not true, neither are these nightmares.

In a new series, the Power of Nightmares explores how the idea that we are threatened by a hidden and organised terrorist network is an illusion.

It is a myth that has spread unquestioned through politics, the security services and the international media.

The BBC goes on to blame the neocons in Washington and has this to say...

Together they created today's nightmare vision of an organised terror network.

A fantasy that politicians then found restored their power and authority in a disillusioned age. Those with the darkest fears became the most powerful.

Six months later, that "myth", "illusion" and "fantasy" expoded on London's underground. Eighteen months later al Qaeda almost suceeded in blowing up several airliners killing thousands.

Now that the BBC are forced to admit that al Qaeda does indeed exist, the BBC want to talk to them.

Interesting how, when the BBC's position was that al Qaeda didn't exist, it was America's fault. Now that the BBC's position is that al Qaeda does exist, it still's America's fault. Funny that.

Asked once what al Qaeda wanted from the West, one of their leaders replied, "We want you to die".

But that doesn't stop the BBC from being al Qaeda's mouthpiece. "I thought you said that was al Jazeera?". They're one and the same.

Al-Jazeera editor leaves for BBC

The Arabic satellite TV channel al-Jazeera says its editor-in-chief has submitted his resignation.

According to an al-Jazeera spokesman, Ibrahim Helal said he had had "a tempting offer" from the BBC.

The charity BBC World Service Trust confirmed that Mr Helal was joining to work on a variety of media training projects over the next two years.

The BBC is a terrorist supporting organization that must be stopped. See here for much more on the BBC's support for terrorists.
